hmm possibly...but what could be wrong with the amp? Its a brand new amplifier- 15" Q making funny noises
I am running my 15" Q in a sealed enclosure, off of a RF t10001bd. The sub is making like a zapping, "electrical" type noise, Even when I turn the music at the head unit off, and disconnect the RCAs from the amp, the sub continually makes this strange noise.- Fuse blown
Its 4 ga. wire and the fuse, im not sure what size it is, but not small. The other thing I just noticed, is that there is all this red liquid all over the battery. Any ideas?- Fuse blown
I was driving down the road today 10 minutes after installing the new system (15" Q and a RF TB10001bd), and everything goes out. I get home, and check under the hood and the fuse is blown by the battery. Any idea why it blew??- Scott please read

I am having a problem fitting my 15" Q in my trunk, I have built a box and there is just no way to make it happen...is there any chance I can switch and get the 12" Q? I know its a lot to ask, but I have the 15" Q, its never been run, and I still have the packaging so I can ship it back to you. Let me know what you can do.- louder?
and you might want to check your amp...those BL's can handle more power then that, esp. with the added options.- Wiring Q for 1ohm?
I need to wire my 15" Q for a 1ohm load, and I was wondering what the best way to wire it is? Its the DVC 2ohm version Q. Something like this? http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woof...mp;woofer_imp=3- Making a box...what should I use?
OKay I will use titebond glue instead, and pre-drill. I also was told to use fiberglass resin to coat the inside of the box to make it more secure...is this okay? As for doubling up the front baffle...what do you think is the best way??- Making a box...what should I use?
whats the downside to liquid nails? Also does it matter what type of screws? I was going to use drywall screws and then mount the sub with some heavy duty screws.- Making a box...what should I use?
I know the routine in making a sealed enclosure but have a few questions before I begin.... This is the first one I am making for my 15" Q and I am getting 3/4 mdf and using 1.5" on the front where the sub is mounted. I was planning on using liquid nails to glue the boards together and then screw them- should I then caulk around the inside after that? Also when doubling up the front baffle, should I just glue and screw two pieces of 3/4 mdf together and then attach to the rest of the box and cut my sub hole in both? Any other tips, or things I forgot before I start building? Thanks guys for the help!- Totally downplayed FI
3CF sealed...how do you like the sealed...I am debating between ported and sealed...?- Cant decide sealed or ported...
I cant decide wether to go sealed or ported with my 15" Q...I listen to mostly rap and want good sq bass but at the same time so good loud hard hitting bass...whats your guys vote?- Totally downplayed FI
he isnt building it anymore...i thought about it and decided to not have them build it...really was unimpressed with thier cs anyway.- Totally downplayed FI
yeah I just thought it was funny how ignorant he was...but he's building my box and I think once he completes it and lets it run hes gonna change his mind...or at least I am hoping. Maybe get FI some recommendations who knows..- Totally downplayed FI
OK so I took my 15" FI-Q into the the local shop around me and first he starts off by questioning the stats on the webpage. He says 2-2.6 cu ft is way to big for the sub. Then he starts saying that its just a eclipse base with a paper cone. The guy just kept looking at it and talking about it like I picked it up from a damn junkyard. On another note...I know the FI guys said between 2-2.6 cu ft. but I am wondering what the best size is to get my sealed box made to? I am thinking about going with 2.3 cu. ft. What do you guys think?- this box okay?
I had some one building me a box, but they ended up not ever repsonding back and now I stuck without a box for my 15" Q. Do you guys think this box will be good solid box to house my Q? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1- is this normal for a Q
yeah your subs are just breaking in....they will be able to take more and more power until they are fully broken in.- Lookin for recommendations
On your 15 Q...do you have any extra options or is just a standard 15" Q? Reason I ask is cause I wana know if a regular Q will take 1500rms...thanks man- Amp to much?
Overhead meaning more power to use if needed?...Well in response to the other posts, I was pretty much thinking I was gonna hook it all up and then just set the amp and gain etc. to where it sounds good. I assume to not use all the amps potential power I should just keep the gain lower then I normally would or what...also that power rating was at 14.4v and I am not sure I have that voltage coming from my alternator. I dont have the big 3 upgrade or anything. So how do I give me Q enough power but not to much? Sorry forgot to sign in...was showing up as a guest.- Amp to much?
I just got my 15" Q in the mail yesterday and it looks awesome. Today I got my RF T10001bd amp. Took a look at the birthsheet and it says 1603rms @1ohm. ALOT OF POWER! Do you guys think this is to much power to give to my 15" Q? The sub will be in a ported enclosure at 32hz. The bench test power rating was at 14.4 volts. I just dont want to damage my sub, do you guys think this is to much power to feed my Q?- Just bought a FI-Q...need help w/ amp and box
Thanks alot for all the info and your help...I am going to make a decision on one of the three in the next week so I can get my Q up and running.- Just bought a FI-Q...need help w/ amp and box
That sundown definitely interests me...Where would I go to get that amp? I would like to see it and read some specs on it. As for the RF and the memphis..better I mean which out of the two is more efficient, and which has "cleaner" power...and which do you think has a more accurate power rating? I've heard that the RF actually puts out more power then the specs say. Its rated for 1000 @1ohm...but ive seen some birth sheets that have said 1300@1ohm - 15" Q making funny noises
