  1. Shhh. Don't tell any one, they'll start expecting quality work from me on these forums. I get it bro, nothing bad taken.
  2. Thanks. I'm thinking black, just not sure if I should go the bed liner route or splurge for some powder coating. It's going to come down to what I can do on the cheap. Sad to say that's going to be the decision maker, but funds are always a concern. Wonk, wonk, wonk. Thanks. The plasma does make pretty parts. Eventually I'll get around to getting a bottle for my little welder. Unfortunately, it wasn't in time for this project. Sometimes waiting till you have everything perfect means it'll never get done. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are times where the only way to do something is the right way. Just, this time, doing it this way, meant a little more prep work to get it to look pretty. It is what it is. I'll take your "pretty respectable for what I'm working with" and raise you a and a
  3. Naw man, that's Myspace.
  4. Cool vids man. Need to do a get together closer to San Antonio some time.
  5. I'm a curves kind of guy, but damn that is one sexy line.
  6. Evening gents. I finished welding up the battery rack hangers today. That and I sanded off all the splatter to keep things looking nice and smooth when they're painted.
  7. Nice setup, looking good. Now go drive over an import.
  8. New box looks sweet. Now get to building.
  9. We use 80 amp consumables to cut 1/4" steel. With this combination it cuts at 70" per minute. We have the ability to run 130 amp consumables. With those we can cut up to 1" thick steel and 5/8" aluminum and stainless steel.
  10. Thanks bro. The CNC does make life easy. Ha ha. No my daughter doesn't have three arms, but I do have three daughters. Yep, 1/4" steel. Ever since we got the CNC plasma cutter the owner of the company (Vintage Air) has go nuts on his personal projects. Awfully cool of him to let me do this.
  11. Hey everybody. I got some more work done on the battery rack. This time I got some work going on the hangers. I got a video update this time around. Check it out. Here are the parts done up and ready for welding. Here is a finished hanger Here is a close up of the phat bead I laid down with my little 110v welder. Flux core wire FTW. It's not the prettiest but I did it. Here are some more pics of the finished hanger.
  12. Ugh that ^^^ was my six hundred sixty sixth post. Aghh I wished someone luck in it. Uhh, I'm just trying to ward off the evil spirits.
  13. So does dynamat, audio wrap, raptor trap, and XxX ??? I take offense to this considering I am partners with the owner and he works extremely hard to portray a professional and honest image. MY QUESTION to you is what sound deadner do you see that's not on a roll? Second skin? ] Sorry to offend by asking such a question. It's already answered which products come in sheets, but just to throw one more in there. The stuff Jegs sells as their own sound deadener, it comes in sheets. On I side note I did contact cthedinger and he agreed to a sample. He was professional in his e-mail and I look forward to seeing the sample. I wish only good things for Audio Technix.
  14. This guy doesn't say much does he? I like him. Thats why I do detailed builds. I love seeing quality work and if my builds assist in that for somebody else then it's all worth it in the end.
  15. Pfff. It's pronounced pucking insane.
  16. Impressive buying power friend. Now let see if those installation skills are just as impressive. Congrats on the buys. Good luck with your project.
  17. It is quite a sight. I can't wait to see it installed. It'll make a statement. Pfff... I picked up mine for cheaper just before the new year. Muhahahahaha!
  18. Like anything prep is the most important step. As for the way I did the corners, that credit belongs to you friend. I picked it up in your "93 Fleetwood Caddy/Something for the Streets" build. Thanks for sharing.

  20. Yeah, better safe than sorry. My friend is a pretty good welder, he does chassis work on race cars and stuff. Maybe one day when I grow up I'll be able to lay down a fat bead like you. Not really. The one I have is just over a benjamin and the local home depot. I picked up mine off craigslist for $40 although it looks as if it was fished out of a lake with all that rust on the base. Thanks, I as well am lookin' forward to how it comes together.
