  1. On a side note I have become one of today's top posters ( Not of the pin-up variety. ). Quite a feat for a forum amateur such as myself.
  2. So close, but that is not a complete sentence. Wonk, wonk, wooonnnk.
  3. This. Too long, both of them. Really?..
  4. You're close and on the right track, but that's still not a complete sentence. Here is a tip, read the rules for posting on SSA.
  5. You're killing me. That's not a complete sentence.
  6. The 2nd works. Those of us going to Heatwave in Corpus can test and tune.
  7. Anybody care to take a stab at guessing what the shortest complete sentence is in the English language is? When I say shortest I mean least amount of letters/syllables.
  8. I lol at the reason behind this thread. To further the lulz and to offer a bit of reading material for those waiting for their BTLs I offer this: How many US Customs inspectors does it take to inspect a crate? 9. One to stand in front of the crate and 8 to pick it up and rotate it in front of the inspecting officer so he can get a better look.
  9. When I saw that think I though it was a knock off of the differential drive design (DDD) used by early alpine subs and the current JBL GTi subs. What look like little neo disk are really just steel spacers. This gives the necessary clearance required for a second voice coil and intermediate plate. Novel, but yeah, it has BS Chinese knock off written all over it.
  10. We have the 2nd or the 16th. Either works for me. Any thoughts for location?
  11. I say the 23rd. The weekend of the 9th is the Heatwave show in Corpus Christi. Besides me, I think some of the Austin crowd is going to that. That's the only show in Texas till the first weekend in November. Plus it'll be a lot cooler by then.
  12. It doesn't look too complicated to duplicate. You beat me to it.
  13. It was pretty cool seeing you guys at the show. Congrats to Jake. See you all at the next show.
  14. I just bought some Radaflex welding cable. It's pure copper and very flexible. Most importantly it was nicely priced. Read about it here
  15. Too bad it's on a Sunday. If it was a bit closer I'd go. Good luck to all that do, and bring back some pics. LOL, on that it's suppose to be one of the biggest shows of the year. Aren't they all?
  16. Make one out of quarter inch thick wood. Then call around to welding shops and ask if they know who has a cnc plasma cutter or laser. Then take your wood pattern to the shop with the cnc cutter and have them copy it for you. Viola, dual alt bracket.
  17. The subs are 4ohm. As for the impedance, that's just the way the cookie crumbles when using home audio subs in a car. Lol! Since it was a 3x event I wonder if I'll get an invite to world finals. x9999 I buy a lot of tools from there. Selection and prices are unbeatable.
  18. Cool beans, must hear.
  19. I'm getting ready to venture into my largest build to date. A pair of 15's off a 3K watt amp. Here is a little about the 1/0 cable I bought. What do we have here? 100ft of Radaflex 1/0 welding cable. 42lbs of copper cabling. ID markers on the cable. This stuff is good to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. I recommend some fiberglass/foil insulation for under hood use. Also avoid running this by any exhaust components. The outside diameter measures right at 5/8" The strands outside diameter measure around 7/16" There are 1580 strands of 32 AWG copper wire. A shot of my high tech measuring equipment. Verification that the measuring equipment properly zeros out. Resistance measurement of the 100ft of cable. Maximum rated resistance for 1000ft at 68 degrees Fahrenheit is .106 ohms Here is a flexibility test. Not too shabby. I bough this cable online through CableYard.com Pricing varies on quantity ordered. Free shipping is offered for orders over $250 of Radaflex cables. They accept paypal, which is very convenient. I placed my order, got a confirmation e-mail with in minutes. Unfortunately there was no tracking number provided, so I was kind of left hanging on when the item shipped. I'm pretty sure I would have been provided one if I called. Calling was not needed because my order arrived a couple of days after I placed my order. Even though Cable Yard is in Georgia the Cable came from Houston Tx. Here is a link to the PDF brochure for Radaflex cables. My link As I start my build I'll update this thread with any new findings, performance wise and quality wise as well.
  20. Glad you're alright. Don't sweet the backwoods mechanic job, we've all been there.
  21. Wow. That's got to be a lot of steel.
  22. Bodybuilding comp. LOL! Vaya con dios amigo.
