Fi IB3-18
well i cant make those links work, and all 3 of my photobucket accounts keep exceeding bandwidth since they got popular, but Ill try these NO EQ, NO smoothing, NO Audyssey, NO nothin! And that suck out at 47Hz is awesome as I will be EQing down around 45Hz anyway.

Fi IB3-18
There were several people on several forums that wanted to purchase my IB3s. I just got done with my manifold and it was a huge success and I haven't even ported it yet, so I am true infinite baffled right now. I just found out today there is a competition June3rd-5th. I have never competed and I have only been to 2 in my life when I was a kid. I won't have custom recones for the 1803's by then or brackets for my 2nd alternator, so I might pull the IB3s from my home theater and put them in the van to compete. If I do this I will most likely blow them up from over excursion when I am trying to squeeze out that last .5dB If anyone is interested in purchasing 4 blown IB3s and reconing them, email me at kryptonitewhite at hotmail dot com. I may just sell them blown and buy the new ones when they come out or go with something else. Here are REW sweps I did the other day NOT EQed yet in 5dB increments till the end to see where compression starts. I just got the Behringer EQ yesterday from Jim, thank you Zora! These were taken before I mounted it to the door, maifold was just set there for a mach up.

Anyone know the differences between the 3HP, RE HC, and 1803 motors?
This is where we are tempted to respond with "Great! Then keep yourself on those forums that way you're their problem and not ours". I don't see where that question was ever asked. I see random thoughts from the mind of Kryptonite, a question about spiders, then some quotes from Scott @ Evo & Scott @ Fi, followed by your complaining about being broke.....and then finished it off with probably the truest statement your fingers have ever typed. I don't see a question about gap sizes or motor comparisons. So, despite the thread title, the only question I see that you actually posed was in regards to spiders, not motors. You posted some quotes from a discussion about motors, but you didn't actually post a question relating to the motors. You asked a question about spiders. To answer your question with a question.......what in the hell is it that you actually want to know. You ask a question about spiders, but want answers about motors? It sounds like you want someone to design an entire subwoofer for you that will hold up to your abuse. The simple answer is; stop abusing shit. You shouldn't need to stupid-proof the subwoofer. There are obviously larger issues involved which are not related to the subwoofers, the subwoofers are just the victim. But from all of your previous threads it seems you have a sense that you already know everything you need to know about achieving your goals. So you should be able to figure this one out on your own, since most of our suggestions will fall on deaf ears anyways. You complain about our responses; think about your questions, posts and threads.....maybe it'll become a little more clear as to why our responses are what they are. You ask for advice, don't take it and get pissed off, then come back complaining when shit breaks. We give more advice, you don't take it and complain that we're being pricks, you break more shit and then come back complaining about it....and the cycle repeats again. You should realize by now the problem lies with you; not us. I am very open minded, got nothin against nobody, but I am sorry you like it in the butt

Anyone know the differences between the 3HP, RE HC, and 1803 motors?
Interesting how home theater forums, every post is valid and answers the question, and car audio is full of shit talking little kiddies... was the question ( is the gap smaller on an 1803 than on a HC or 3HP?) even answered? Andrew, what is the thickness of the top plate on a 3HP? Mine is just over 1.25", maybe 1 5/16th? best I could get with a tape measure is 3" ID on the coil, 3 1/4" Od, top plate is just over 1.25" maybe 1 5/16th? The slugs are 7 3/4" diameter.

Anyone know the differences between the 3HP, RE HC, and 1803 motors?
Hey guys, I want to rebuild my 1803s with 5 or more spiders... be it very loose or very tight spiders to kryptonitewhite-proof them. When I replaced the AP30001D something amazing happened... the van started playing as it was supposed to. Most incredible amzing low end output. Air movement that no one would believe unless they actually sat in it, but if you did, rear-end leakage was destined to occure. My family and I had a blast for 2 days, so many looks of aw and amazement and sometimes fear when suddenly things would be recorded louder and lower. Looks of "is the van going to explode? Are we going to die?" Then, as it just always has to happen, there was a quiet song. Waited it out...nope, not just an intro. Lets fast forward a bit to be sure cuz it sounds neat, but it's so quiet. Still quiet, still sounds good. Let's just turn it up. up. OK, a hair more. Cruisin. Still quiet, but sounds good so what the heck. OH MY GOD WE ARE GOING TO DIE! THE WIND! THE NOSIE! THE VAN IS COMING AP..... 2 coils torn from the spiders at the triple joint. 2 survived. So I want to recone them with as many spiders as I can fit. Make them all loose to stay as close to TS params as possibe, yet have 5 to pull tight if they get moving too far? Would 5 loose spiders be enough to keep 3kW of fury from ripping things apart and buy me time to flip the kill switch in times like these? Or would I need 5 or more stiff... really mess up my efficiency? really kill my TS parameters? Well Scott at Evo got excited. Said he rebuilds TC Sounds 3HPs/RE HCs all the time to take ungodly amounts of power. Jim told me they are basically 3HPs/RE HCs as well. But Scott at Fi, ya know, the guy that designed them, built them, and reconed the ones I have now... well he says these cant be rebuilt big. Tight gap, not enough motor to overcome extra spiders. Then Scott at Evo says "well as far as the 3HPs and RE HCs, they have huge gaps and get turned into monsters all the time..." In addition, Scott of Evo wants $165 per recone. We all know I can't even afford a $50 RS meter or $150 bracket for my 2nd alt... let alone 4 recones and some glue shipped. KW needs to quit and sell everything cuz he wont take no ones advice and he keeps breaking ****

(4) Custom Fi 18's (4) AP30001Ds 45 cubic feet 20" port @ 24Hz
YUP. Since the begining of this build one of my amps was bad when I got it. With the new amp in I am several times louder down low and the sound is completely different. The alternator isn't a huge issue like it was before, because before I was making the other 3 amps and other 3 subs work much much harder because the sub off the bad amp was acting like a PR and the port was I giant leak. Now its loud as all hell down deep, I am so very happy now. I'll run REW in there again as soon as I can to see what it looks like. I need to tear the other tower down yet and get building the manifold in th house yet too.

Audiopipe warranty, Jackie tech support
kryptonitewhite replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electricalit's amazing how much air 4 18's can move if all 4 of them are moving the same direction. It's amazing how much air movement you lose when one amp probably never worked in the first place, so your port never functioned correctly and one sub was moving the inverse of the other three. Much love to Audiopipe. I called Jackie what, a couple weeks ago and sent it in? I got a BRAND NEW amp today, even improved to run off 16V. Thanks Jackie. So my setup is completely different now. I love it. It's a good thing I turned my mids and tweets back up, they still cant keep up though. Oh, and amazing sound quality is sort of killed by insane door flex.

All the shit talk in the beginning about "how are you gonna move them?" All these guys saying "it's gotta be this light and only this big so 2 guys can move it". Brandy just had to ask if I had anything to say. Hah. Wromg thing to ask. Twin Towers Come Down, me moving tower 1 all by myself.

You have posted more than the allowed number of quoted blocks of text So no work getting done here, Brandy and Austin are out cold... he just turned 13 today... kittys are sleepin, so I am here again talkin to myself hoping for other night owls like me. Thought I'd share this thread that someone started over at ROE today. It makes all this crap I do worth it, all the negative responce I've gotten over the years all disappears with the good things like these: " You know you're Kryptonitewhite when... " http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/off-topic/72145-you-know-youre-kryptonitewhite-when.html Here's a few exaples, made my night.- BUILD LOG 990 cubic feet (2)18.25"x8.25"x2" ports 9Hz tune
So I am back on my messed up schedual, up all night sleep all day. Yesterday AM I was all gung hoe to tear the towers down before Brandy went to work so I could clean the carpets then build the manifolds. I lasted till 11AM then crashed. As usual thats when she got up, went and bought fuses so we had lights again, then she went to work...I was out cold till 12AM, she got home from work, now she ready to watch a few episodes of Lost then go to sleep. I made a pot of coffee, I will be up all nite with nothing to do. Gotta make it till Don shows up so I can fix his power wire, then I will crash all day, she has the day off...ugh! like I said, she gotta watch Lost... So I always find myself trying hard to make something work, like worried if I superglue my cubes to my towers they will just fall off. But when I want to ge them off, they wont come off. I had to POUND and pound the speaker, it flew to the floor and a tiny piece broke inside, now I get to take internal pics of my L/C/R/surrounds Some day i will get Bob's dual FR125S w/quasi crossover and tweets kits...till then... YUP, thats 6ohm 10W!- BUILD LOG 990 cubic feet (2)18.25"x8.25"x2" ports 9Hz tune
Tuning is going to end up being 7Hz and over 1000 cubic feet HT, sine waves, and bass music :-P Oh, and summertime AC- BUILD LOG 990 cubic feet (2)18.25"x8.25"x2" ports 9Hz tune
im betting that the spare room is gonna have a much better fr than the HT room and i end up building another bed and setting up in there. Ill be boarding up both windows in there so the enclosure "seals up" better, there's only a small closet and the one door that will be the manifold/port. It's a touch over 1000 cubes with the closet open. The HT room is 1400 cubic feet, has the SR door, front door, and entryway vaulted door as well as 2 windows that are also to be boarded up.- BUILD LOG 990 cubic feet (2)18.25"x8.25"x2" ports 9Hz tune
SOMEBODY PLEASE TALK ME OUT OF THIS. PLEASE. All I need to do is run 2x4s from side to side in the towers and attatch them to the front to back 2x4s, drop in new 48" ports, and be done! Someone? - BUILD LOG 990 cubic feet (2)18.25"x8.25"x2" ports 9Hz tune
