2001 Chevy Astro....Custom Install!
Needed to do recones, blew a dustcap... it's funny the things the kiddies pick to tell me why I suck so bad that others do as well. It's not that you got the same SPL as me 5Hz below your tuning with 1/2 the cone area... it's that Ive had to do a few recones though I run 4 times the power, though you had to do a recone too :-P I'm just gonna complain some more, if you don't mind. The fact you still have my attention just means I am still impressed man!

systems that do 148dB or more at 25Hz or lower
Kick ass!~ I dont need a vid to prove it, I was more concerned with it being at 25Hz not 27Hz.... you basically did it then, man.... you did what I do with double the cone area. I really should sell all my shit lol... I am in the wrong hobby, at least for auto... my HT is another story I am very impressed, and disapointed in myself!

You didnt seal that window off? I caulked mine shut then filled them with 120-140 cans of Great Stuff, the big 24oz ers. I bought 5 24 packs then started buying 1 at a time till finished. learned my lesson though, next time I'll only do 5 cans at a time and let them cure 48hrs before the next set. Did you get TermLabed? I'm still very impressed man, you did great work. Kickin my ass with 1/2 the cone area.

Little vid i made of REW and a couple sweeps, a lot of people that subscribe to my vids have no idea what REW is, where I get my numbers or graphs. 110dB from 5Hz up REW Room Eq Wizard.AVI

Id sure like to see what Brian's FR looks like with 8 sealed up IB.... heres what Im doing with some more bracing and sealing up to go yet: My title "sealed up" is misleading, I am ported 1000 cubic feet tuned to 5Hz, I closed the entry way door to "seal up" the listening room a little better adding quite a bit in the single digits. I need to brace the ceiling more and seal up both the manifold door as air leaks around it as well as the entry way door.

just ran another sweep with the entry way door sealed up. So much for retuning higer, work on more bracing and more sealing up and I should be golden to 5Hz.

Getting started with a Behringer Feedback Destroyer PRO DSP1100P
How does REW know how far down it can EQ? How can I get that spike at 5Hz, or at least make it flat to 5Hz?

Getting started with a Behringer Feedback Destroyer PRO DSP1100P
Audyssey set all speakers to negative something, the sub was -12dB. I swept it again with -9dB then -6dB and still have headroom, but not much, so i will leave them at -6dB

Getting started with a Behringer Feedback Destroyer PRO DSP1100P
I started to remove several filters as there was too much 5Hz-10Hz and everything else was dead, as I removed the 2nd 40Hz the buzz came back, and only on 1 side. Something is wrong so I took the BFD back out. Ran Audyssey for the 1st time, IDK who's system this is...but its totally different...instantly. Here's sweeps starting at -35dB in 5dB increments to -20dB and I still have a TON of headroom.

Filter 1: 40Hz -48dB Q 60 Filter 2: 20Hz +16dB Q 120 Filter 3: 20Hz +16dB Q 120 Filter 4: 20Hz +16dB Q 120 Filter 5: 20Hz -16dB Q 60 Filter 6: 20Hz +16dB Q 120 Filter 7: 20Hz -16dB Q 60 Filter 8: 20Hz +16dB Q 120 Filter 9: 20Hz -16dB Q 60 Filter 10: 20Hz -16dB Q 60 Filter 11: 40Hz -48dB Q 60 1st problem: as I was adding the last 2 filters I noticed rumbling got loud when I added dB, then i realized 1 side was doing it but not the other, before I saved it, though both engine lights are on. When I did the following cut it fixed it...but that doesnt mean they became symetric again. So I did sine waves at 6.5Hz, 10Hz, and 16Hz to make sure both sets of subs have the same excursion. They do. However, at 6.5Hz when I get it loud enough to get amplifier noise, it was on the same side that suffered rumbling. Anyway.... the 2nd -48dB cut at 40Hz killed it: but then the last filter, 12, boost 16dB at 20Hz Q of 120 fixed it and I am happy for now. Final sweep

Getting started with a Behringer Feedback Destroyer PRO DSP1100P
This thing is so powerful it's hard to get started, especially since I want out of the ordinary responce, not flat. Since it has 1/120th control I don't know where to start with Q... 60/120? Thats the default IIRC. I basically need to lower everything boosting nothing as I need to create a LP effect. I want 5Hz-10Hz to be 6dB above 11Hz-18Hz. I want 11Hz-18Hz to be 6dB above 19Hz-30Hz. I want 19Hz-30Hz to be 6dB above 31Hz-250Hz. This is all guesstimation, obviousely not a 6dB drop between 1Hz increments... just to give an idea of what I am after. I may simply center at 45Hz and EQ down 24dB and vary my Q until I am happy, unless I get some good feedback. Thank you for trudging through this post, trying to understand it, and if you even reply with help... thank you very very much. KW

Lowest inductance 18's?
I have 4 IB3s in the HT and 4 IB3s in the van (ok, not anymore, airspace was 1/2ed and tuning almpst doubled so now I have 1803s) I only spent $1760 for 8 IB3 18's shipped... $199/ea plus $20 shipping each. 8 LMS ULTRA 5400s at $900 plus $100 shipping would be $8000. If I could get 8 ULTRA 5400s for 2K I'd be running them for sure

Fi IB3-18
Look pretty sick Scott, I didnt even notice but Brandy did. Sure wish i got replies about recones for the 1803s....

I have custom dual 4 ohm coils run series/parallel 2 IB3 18's per EP4000 bridged 4 ohm. You could run 2 single 2 ohm IB3 18s off an EP4000 either stereo 2 ohm or bridged 4 ohm. Be careful, you have a lot more power than you need, you will never ever cook a coil with it (I ran 10Hz full excursion at tuning for 10 minutes and the amp got a touch warm, barely at all, but the subs stayed cool) but you could run into over excursions quickly without warning as they soiund just as good near full excursion as they do with no visible excursion at all. The new ones look sick, I didnt even notice but my girlfriend did.

Thats a vid I would love to see! For proof? well sure... but no, cuz thats what i LIKE. 192dB at 100Hz off 4 Adire Audio Extremis 6 4s sealed with 1700 RMS

systems that do 148dB or more at 25Hz or lower
everyone is misundferstanding what I am getting at, and that is fine, I am always misunderstood. I believe your pics. I also knew ahead of time that those meters are supposed to be good to .5dB or whatever of the TermLab. But the fact is, I would like to see it and see it at 25Hz and see it with a TermLab. I didnt record mine just for proof, I did it because it is what I myself like to see. People get pissed at me for doin sub excursion vid after sub excursion vid. Well before I could afford subs, I sat and watched sub excursion vids all day. I enjoyed it. I couldnt get enough of it. Now I make it for the other gu out there that took my place and I hope someday he gets to make some badass vids for the guy that replaces him. Also, I am new to REW and mics, but I have been into them for a couple of months now since someone sent me a free mic to see what my towers were doing. Since then I now click on threads about mics, I learn about them, and I see side by side sweeps of different mics and see that you cant compare systems with different mics. I dont care, Ill say it again... youre getting 156dB at 27Hz with 1 or 2 18s and that is INSANE! Period. So anyone can say whatever they want, I dont care, I gave you my props, sorry but Im not giving you my alt though even if you do a 161 at 25Hz with a TermLab and theres a link to an official record.... that wasnt the point! I am impressed, I tried my best, my idea got me a 148, you tried...you kicked my ass... I salut you! Sincerely! Having said all of that, I pulled a KW and did what I do... try to make the cool ones laugh and the retards that think they are smart talk shit.... without further ado: getting REW set up still setting up and dude walks up trippin nuts, mic wasnt set properly yet ratshack meter

Thanks man, I lost it for a second there.... glad you put it in a much more mature way than I did

systems that do 148dB or more at 25Hz or lower
Im not out to prove shit to anyway. i was there, I dont care what you think, I made a joke to the guy and said if he can beat me at 25Hz with just 2 subs Id give him my alt.... looks like he can do it, I was wrong. I dont really care that much.... but I have a radio shack meter and an Audyssey meter I bet I could hit 160dB at 10Hz with them.... so i am simply stating I agree with him he can prolly do it, but Id sure love to see a video of him doing it at 25Hz, not 27Hz, and it being TermLabbed not something else.

systems that do 148dB or more at 25Hz or lower
mind you 1 of 4 amps may have been blown at this time, so 3 subs were getting canceled by the 4th as well as the port not loading to reduce excursion or adding output.... Ill get TLed again now that I have the amp replaced after I get my other alt installed (if I get to keep my other alt LOL :-P ) 147.7 23Hz 147.9 24Hz 148.2 25Hz and 26Hz floor.AVI 132.5 15Hz 136.7 17Hz 140.3 18Hz 142.5 19Hz 143.8 20Hz 144.9 21Hz 145.7 22Hz.AVI 147.7 23Hz hair trick unintentional.AVI put on 148.2.AVI

I'll give him my excessive amperage alternator if he can beat my old score of 148 @ 25Hz at 25hz on a TermLab

systems that do 148dB or more at 25Hz or lower
I managed a 148.2 at 25Hz a year ago in a vehicle that was NOT designed for competition, let alone SPL. I simply wanted a vehicle that could get pretty loud, pretty low, and yet still sound very clear. Out of curiosity I went and got metered to see how loud it was below 30Hz. When I did so I got bombarded with "well this guy with 24 15's in 4th order got a 161 @ 25Hz" and "well this guy got a 154 with just 2 10's at 25Hz". Later some guy, who despite being from this forum was very polite and nice, comented on some of my posts. He was installing 2 18's and tuning around 30Hz IIRC. So I joked and said I'd give him my other alternator if he could beat my 148 @ 25Hz. He told me the other day he got a 156 somthing at 27Hz.... which is a ways off from 25Hz, but even if he lost 6dB going down 2Hz he'd still have beat it I'd guess..... assuming it was on a TermLab. So I'd like videos, proof, of people besting a 148 @ 25Hz or lower. Not 26Hz or 30Hz.... cuz that isn't the same. Must be TermLab, not the neat digital display Xzibit used on Pimp My Ride for the 22" Jackhammer. I'd like to see TeamRamRod's build log and videos of him getting 156.7 at 27Hz because thats impressive for any setup, let alone only a pair of 18s.

Lowest inductance 18's?
do you have a build log? what was your tuning again? subs used, power? are you walled or subs up port back? all the goodies pics and vids? Wicked awesome score, man, very nice!

Lowest inductance 18's?
I hear about those subs quite a bit, I am a HT subwoofer guy... those fit my bill I started this thread when i wasn't getting the high end I expected, but I found out that was because 1 amp was blown... replaced the amp, my highs are back as well as insane massive lows too Now the port actually works, blowing air like mad and trying to rip my doors off
