  1. Movie Watching? Yes sir 17" flip down monitor for the kids enjoyment. I will have a half din dvd player set in with the radio up front for me to control. Would have went bigger but 17" seems a bit big in the back seat.
  2. Thank you. I have also been told about that drilling holes i didn't do it but be told that works good also. So i have a few additions to this build that are not in my first post. Here are a few preview pics of what will be in store. Just a little teaser pic before i get a few more things in the mail.
  3. So i did a little work on deadening the truck
  4. Now to deaden the doors... And the vid of a comparison
  5. The test fit for the 8 was perfect. I didn't have to cut or modify anything.
  6. After i got the wires cleaned up and taken out i started to get test fitting the doors just to make sure they will fit still with the new speakers in. As you can see i needed to do some modified work here to make some clearance for the 6.5 and some more clearance for the pocket i relocated. The Pocket area. This is before I cut the area to fit the pocket. I forgot to get the after shot of the cut for the pocket. I could get a shot of it later but there is now deadener on it. The before shot of the 6.5 area i had to modify Why it didn't fit Before i had it cut The after shot of the modified area for the 6.5 The door fits good now
  7. So i started to strip out everything all old wires remove the old speakers and start cleaning everything up so i could start putting deadener in. My giant mess of wires that i have to take out. everything is zip tied and wrapped with electrical tape. Also all wires were soldered and shrink wrapped.
  8. I also got started on the doors. A little bit at a time. A before shot of the door I have the ring cut out and it is wrapped with fleece just waiting to get glassed up If you compare to the before pic you will see what i am going to be relocating the pocket area to the rear part of the door.
  9. Thanks... I am out of san antonio
  10. Thank you thats what i was going for... That and the trunk space cuz i know my wife needs it....
  11. Last vids up...
  12. A new vid posted
  13. Yeah you may i have i have this in a few other forums. I am just new to this forum so decided to showcase some work.
  14. So this is it all cleaned up and finished
  15. Got this finished last night here come some photos until the vids finish loading
  16. Alright got it cut and time to test fit it again, this time i got sub put in. As you will see here i still need a little trimming to do. I will re-enforce the the fleece and close is up tomorrow.
  17. Alright so i did some more work on the enclosure. I test fit the enclosure and It fit in there like a glove and did not move at all. Although it fit fit i ran into clearance issues.... Here are some pics. It fits in there nice and to me is looking pretty good. So i go ahead and try to close the trunk and to my surprise it wont close... So i looked around and seen it was a wire. I thought, easy fix just re-route the wire and call it done. Not a big deal i work at the toyota manufacturing plant and if i break a clip i could most likely get another. So after re-routing the wire i thought i was good to go. Well another issue came up. There is a cross bar that forces the trunk to open when the latch is released, well its in the way now. So i thought well maybe i could take it off because the other side had the same latch and it could open it alone. Well it was attached with rivets and i didn't want to cut it off, so now i need to make adjustments to the box. So now i will have to cut the a small portion out of the corner where the latch will be. I am glad i test fitted it before i re-enforced the back of the fleece and put the carpet on. So at least it is not that big of a deal. More updates to come later.
  18. So i have it ready to go here outside at first... till i moved it to the barn. So here i have the first layer of resin and fiber glass. Since i have only about an hour or so a day to do this, i will have to wait till tomorrow to get the second layer on. I am on the night shift right now so that is why i only have an hour or so... I get home about 630am then i have to be at work by 530pm.
  19. So i did a build in my wife's car awhile back. It's a simple build just added a 10" sub for a little added bass. So i am going to start on my wife's car with a custom enclosure in the trunk. Its a 2012 toyota corolla and i will place it in the wheel well area. This is going to be a slow and learning process as i only get an hour or so a day, if that. A few starting pics... So i thought it would be easier for me to take it out to start with the taping and prep work. Also once i get to fiber glassing I would not want it to be smelling like fiber glass in her car.
  20. I say just do it its not as hard as someone would think. Just that stuff gets itchy though although i am a bit use to it as i use to install fiberglass in new homes a ways back. Ice cold water is great for the relief
  21. Thank you all for the nice comments...
  22. So i have been doing little work about an hour a day this week. Since i haven't updated here in awhile here comes more pics... Showing i got the A-pillars fixed and test fitted... Then i started working on the kick panels... got it taped here ready for glass decided to use foil tape to help with the ease of taking off the tape from the glass molding... Got my prep work done.. Sorry no pic of the glass mold was a bit messy but here are some almost finished pics... also a test fit
  23. So i been a little busy during the week and could do much but i started again yesterday and got some work done to the tweeter pods. Most of it was bondo and a lot of sanding. A few update pics. A test fit before bondo... Start of the bondo and sanding process... After a hours of sanding and bondo... So i have a problem... As you can see in pic below the bondo keeps coming up from the a pillar. I thought that the primer/filler would fill it in and i wouldn't see much issues, but i dont like the way it is. Any ideas that i could do to make this a bit better.
  24. I looked up the manual low pass is at 125hz
