  1. thanks for the input. i once had one of the top of the line pioneer flip outs, but honestly it got old because any system would make the screen hit back to the dash.thats why i was wanting to get the cleaner look of the double din. i think they look pretty clean in the 97-03 f150s
  2. from what ive looked up i think im going with a 4" aero 12 and a half long so it will be tuned to 34 hertz in a 1.9 ^3 box
  3. i have the iphone 4 and will be using it either through aux or usb for my music. i dont care anything about having BT i never used it previously. ill be purchasing the cd player , subs , amp all at the same time and getting the install done all at once. i have alpine type r coaxs in the doors and will be leaving them in for right now. gonna either be 2 10 sundown e's or a 12 on a mb quartz 1000d
  4. ive always messed with pioneer head units. i just sold an old pioneer flip out and ready to buy something new because my old stock is not cutting it. if i go with a regular cd player im either going with the http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45846_JVC-KD-HDR61.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_42778_Pioneer-DEH-P8400BH.html if i decide to tackle a double din im either going with the pioneer or the jvc.im just wanting to know which would be the better head unit and which offers the best features. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33384_JVC-KW-AVX640.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_42781_Pioneer-AVH-P2400BT.html
  5. my amp will be installed on the thin piece of wood we wrapped right above where the wires are coming out. im gonna build the box to save a few bucks but i just dont feel experienced enough to do the slot port thats why i was mainly wanting to do the aero port
  6. wheres the best place to buy some aero ports? and what diameter?
  7. how does it sound? looks very good btw edit: didnt see where you said it sounds awesome lol
  8. i mean obviously im not looking for huge numbersdont care about it getting metered because i know single cabs are tough to get loud. im just looking for decent output for all types of music
  9. i havent tried the flared ports ive only done boxes with a circular port. i didnt know with the box being as long as its going to be if one would be better than the other. dimensions are about 42-43 long, 8 - 9 deep, 12-13 tall
  10. i know ive been asking a lot of questions but ive finally decided on all my equipment the only thing left is getting the box right. it will be a 12" type r fifth gen on an audioque 1200. ive built aero port boxes before but never a slot port. ive always done it with a single sub setup having the sub behind the passenget seat and the aero port out the side on the driver side. the box will be around 1.75^3 to 2.0. im just wondering the best box to get full potential out of the setup
  11. to update the thread . . . . heres a picture of the room im working with behind the seat
  12. to be honest . . . no lol i couldnt tell a difference at all
  13. thanks guys. i didnt know ive just been looking around i didnt know if they put out true power or not
  14. thats very nice! only thing ive done to it is a k n filter and throttle body spacer
  15. I think I responded to you on another forum. I have a local guy with a F150 single cab I did a ported box for one 12 that you could hook up with and hear. Its 2.25cu tuned at 30hz if I remember right. Its a great design and sounds really good. he can lean his seat all the way back too. id love to see some pictures of the box if you could get me some
  16. after getting a speeding ticket today, budget says im not going with the SA route haha will have to be something cheaper. honestly thinkinh about just trying out the fifth gen type r's and calling it a day
  17. that amp is rated 1750 watts at 1 ohm
  18. its just such a hard decision . . . .but because of mounting depth and everything . . .im either going with 2 10" SA's ported or 2 12" sealed. do the sundown SA's thrive better sealed or ported?
  19. id love to try the 2 12" gcons, their moutning depth is 7 " so i can fit them and 1 - 1.25^3 sealed each so i could get that easily. im thinking about getting the Americnan Bass HD-3500 to power them. should everything be good?
  20. i could do the 12's sealed definitely no way to port those. ive got roughly 14 or 15" tall, 44 wide and i think about 9 or 10" deep
  21. orrrrr what about 2 of the 8" sundown sa v2's?
  22. i want it to get loud for being in a single cab truck but still sound good
  23. well like i said i have limited space but enough to do 1 12 ported or 2 mid series 10's ported. ive been looking at amps and wanting to get around a 1200-1500 watt amp depending sub setup
  24. my bad lol i already posted once in the sub section but the only piece i have so far is a pioneer deh x5500. i have alpine type r coaxials all around but planning to just leave the ones in the back and pick up some decently cheap components for the front. i listen to all types of music but id say mainly hip hop/ r&b so im looking for some subs that are loud and get low..ive been thinkin about a 12" SSA icon ported or 2 10" Sundown sd-2's ported or something along those lines. open to any suggestions
  25. hey guys im new in here. been out of the car audio game for probably 3-4 years but looking to get back in it. i figured id post a pic of my truck this new system is going to go into. hopefully with your feedback ill get the perfect system i want! http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/cmw5e/truck.jpg
