  3. okay so i was wondering what i should do...the gains were set with an o scope, everything installed correctly, box size was good, no clipping ...it literally just tore straight in half...has to be one of the colest things i have ever seen...everything looked right in the box but when i pulled it out the cone was in half..i know there is no fixing it but i was wondering if maybe i could just get a new cone/dust cap put on the old basket ....by the way it is a 12" aresenal......i still have the voice coil and spider and the motor and basket are still in mint mint condition and i feel it would be a waste to just throw it......so can i "fix" it anyway or should i just make a sweet barstool
  4. i have tried to get ahould of somebody before i have had no luck.....i loved re then i got to fi and its discouraging to not be able to contact anybody.......all i have is a snapped tinsel lead and i was wondering about how i would go about sending it back to get fixed.....my local shop says either they cant fix it or if they can itll cost 175 and i know that some bs......i have to get this fixed asap cuz i have to do work at a bass comp in like 5 weeks.....i want everybody to find out what fi is about..... thank you Eric
  5. i cant figure out how to put a picture in.......the tinsel lead broke about 1/4 inch from where you connect the speaker wire.......nowhere near the cone....
  6. no clipping was involved i have tuned my amp with an oscilliscope...... my headunit does not send a clipped signal until around 29 and i never have it turned past 24........my amp is rms around 900 watts into 2 ohm at 12.6 volts so id be reaching somewhere near maybe 1k watts and the subs rms is 1000 watts.....by the way i am a mobile electronics student with minor in basic electronics principles....i have done all the math checked and rechecked it and there is no way my install or calculations are incorrect..........ground i perfect, signal leads not run next to power cable, big three done, new red top battery, fuses not blown and in line fuse rated up to 160 amps.....i think that it was just a faulty tinsel lead
  7. i was bumpin on down the road and all of the sudden my sub cut out... perplexed, i went to the back to make sure all necessary wires connected ... as they were and drove home, pulled the sub out of my box and one of the tinsel leads was fried.........i have a 12" Q powered by a eD nINE running at 2 ohms and a comfortable 950 watts ....so i dont believe that this was an error on my part i have done all my big 3 running 4 gauge wire everything ....how and how much is it going to take to fix this asap......my sub should still be under warranty seeing how i bought it only about 7 months ago......please help i cant live without beats
