  1. i see makes a little more sense, so what are you suggesting for speakers then, dont just focus on the speakers but also the install?
  2. so as far as front stage goes, im going to be needing to put more money down then i planned on basically so i can achieve what i want? i mean its no problem to find a little extra money out there and step up the mids and tweets. i do understand you get what you pay for.
  3. i see so if i could make a rise or a spacer like you were saying and place it on the door and slightly modify it i would be seeing better results. how many tweeters should i be looking into putting on the a pillar?
  4. alright, well i could make a dual pod for the doors pretty easily and put two 6.5 mids per door. wondering if that would work, im not trying to go to crazy on customizing pods for my doors so if i go to sell my car i dont get to attached to it. but I was thinking 8 6.5 pwx crescendos running on their c1100.4@ 2ohms or should i get the idea of 6.5 completely out of my head? haha

  6. i just came up with an idea. what if i ran 8 6.5 two per door, and then ran two 8 on the sides of the center console. would you believe that would work?
  7. will do on the measurements. haha been too busy to really get into this build so far. but overall what kind of sound processors should i be looking into? or does that all depend on the speakers i go with? If you go with one mid and one tweeter per side then you will need a processor that handles 4 channels, or advertised as "2-way." Since your on a budget, and the processor is just awesome, I'd take a look at the minidsps. Also what's your headunit? It's unlikely, but perhaps you bought one with processing. its the Pioneer AVH 4400 BTD

  9. Yes sorry about leaving out the detail. my budget is 4000$ total and im already got about 3000 tied up in amps, subs, and the head unit. so im working with around 1000$ still in need of a battery, so honestly 500$ tops. the two tweeters would run on the a pillars, the 6.5 would be one per door, if thats going to be able to keep up with the subs. which i hope it will, but any ideas before i buy would be nice. overall goal is to be loud but still have some sound quality too. would 6.5 be loud enough to keep up with those? thats as big as i can fit in the doors with out making my own door panels. No it won't keep up with your subs. Don't expect to appropriate so much money in one category, and expect the other category with a fraction of the budget to perform on par. On par in this instance being loudness. Since your planning a loud bass setup I don't expect you really care about SQ, but rather just having the mids and highs clear, and loud enough that they can actually be heard over the bass. With your budget you will have to compromise. Ideally large pro audio mids would likely be what your looking, but 6.5 isn't going to cut it. Fiberglassing new door panels / speaker mounts for larger speakers would help, but require a good bit of time and money. How much space do you have up on the a-pillars for "two tweeters?" Perhaps a pair or two of large format tweeters. $500 for speakers, amp, and a processor is cutting it close. not sure as to the amount of space available, so even if i put 6.5 in the doors and then say maybe 8s and 10s on part of the box still wouldnt be able to keep up, because i dont have that much time on my hands to mold and tare my car apart, (got to get to work and school daily) so what would be my most sound solution to run with these subs? i can raise my budget a little bit.
  10. also i dont know anything about processors so any info there would be extremely appreciated !!

  12. Going to be running either four 18 fi bl or 15 inch. Was looking into crescendo PWX 6.5 and their super tweeter. but also want to know what some other options are out there. WIll be running in a 4 door tahoe 2004 z71, so standard would be four 6.5s in the doors and two tweeters up on the pillar. any advice as to other companies to research would be appreciated.
  13. thank you, and yes im about to sell my old tahoe but i didnt want to exceed 4000
  14. I've decided for my four door tahoe z71 2004 on going with a Pioneer AVH 4400, Was going to do the app radio but it only has 2 preouts. Along with that i am going to be getting a crescendo 5800bc amp, a total of four FI Bl series Subs (either 12 or 15 inches) with the cooling option, not sure on 1ohm or two ohm impedance. Along with that i will be building my own ported box tuned to 35 or 30 hz. For the tweeters i am just going to be running two crescendo ft1 and four pwx 6.5. Haven't chosen the amp on those. I do know i will need to upgrade my electrical system on my car. I'm just posting this for some feed back on what i could enhance or if 15 inch subs would be better than the 12 inch subs. on that not i want musical not comp, im not going to be doing any burps or anything, and also i mostly listen to electronic music and rap, but still would like to jam some country from time to time.
