Amp for a pair of 12" GCONs (750w)?
Thanks for the input Aaron. I'll continue to scour the classifieds for one of those. Most likely one of the ones in my initial post I guess, unless someone has any other ones I should also look at (high quality/used).

Amp for a pair of 12" GCONs (750w)?
I just didn't want to put too much into it, have an issue, and be hung out because they were improperly powered. I have heard that the 750w is a pretty conservative rating on these though.

Does anyone recall what it was running during the Black Friday sale? I didn't even check. Just curious.

Amp for a pair of 12" GCONs (750w)?
That bad boy is 2250 x 1... I thought you wanted the capability of producing more so you aren't maxing out/taxing the amp; but is there a threshold of how far over?

Amp for a pair of 12" GCONs (750w)?
A pair of 4-ohm DVC GCONs are on the way. I'd like to think that up to $300 could get me into a decent quality 1-ohm stable amp to drive these. I have a run of 1/0 OFC to power this. I know what the numbers say, but you guys know the real world on what I could/should use to power these. Prefer to buy something used/taken care of; I think I can get more for my money that way. Looking around, some options that I *think* would be good are Soundstream (Reference), Audioque, Sundown Audio, Crescendo...probably a bunch of others. Just looking for some guidance. If it's been hashed out already, please point me there while I search!

The newer Pioneer CMOS or previous CCD? I assume you've seen a few different ones? Thanks for the input so far...

Backup camera options
Forgive me if this is in the wrong section, I figured "General" was most appropriate, feel free to move if it's not, just don't flame me too hard. Yes, I know this has nothing to do with sound! With that said, I want to add a backup camera onto my truck for my Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of options out there. I believe CCD gives a better image than CMOS. Just not sure even where to start and what to look for, if anyone is experienced in this department. I mean, Christ. Look at it. Same amount of options at Al & Ed's, SonicElectronix, Pacific, WoofersEtc, etc. http://www.al-eds.com/Back-upForward-facing-Cameras-c439.html Thanks.

Good question. That's Dustin's job to figure out!(kidding)That's a rough/close measurement. I need to dig behind the seat and get a final exact measurement. The flaps behind the seat can be removed, or trimmed. The Fox Acoustics box (yellow boxed image) appears to downfire, so there is plenty of space. I think removing those flaps completely will be the best option. The SubThump box specs 6.5", but when I chatted with him, he said it can be modified to accomodate a deeper sub: "Also, with our box you are not necessarily limited to 6.5" of depth. We actually have two more depths available. With the addition of a spacer ring, we can go up to 7.25" very easily. I also have a special deep design that can hold massive 12s up to 8" deep." I'm pretty confident once the final numbers are in to Dustin, we can get the 7" to work. http://www.foxacoust...e=DMC%2D212%2DS http://subthump.com/...-Amp-Space.html

Two...If I understood, you said we could fit a pair?So if I use a quality amp capable of putting out the needed watts at 1-ohm, that would be the way to go then...

No bias of course right? I am going to go read up on if I should get the 2-ohm or 4-ohm. I don't have an amp yet. I am thinking the 4-ohm so I can run them at 2-ohm. Any specific input while I am researching, or a known link where it's been hashed out?

Original budget I had figured my box was going be in the +/- $150-$200 range. Original thought for a pair of subs was ~$200-$250 each. If I went with a single, then I could use the extra money for a "better" sub, more amp, etc. ICON 12s are $274 right now, a pair would be "doable", although on the higher end of the budget. Just want to do what's right the first time. Sounds good, I'll go check it!
