  1. So I'm trying to do the big three and I'm looking for some battery distribution blocks that will fit on my battery posts for 1/0 gauge. I think i need 4 total holes. 1 for my alt to my positive, 1 for my battery ground, 1 for my power wire, and 1 for my negative. anyone know where i can get some for less that $80 all together?
  2. Ha! I know he woke up when he spent $165 on a sony xplod at best buy and had to return it 3 times. Thats how he got the type S. The type R isnt even his. Thanks for the help.
  3. Me and my other buddies have been telling him this all along. He just doesn't want to listen for some reason
  4. well i talked to him last night and he said he thinks he has 40s but i also remember hearing him say he couldnt find the right fuse that he had before so he just put the next size up. i also just found this " need to know the size of external fuses for a american legacy amp 2000 watt 2 channel 1990- 25 to 30 amp fuses will work..".
  5. lmao, i appreciate the help but the hole E=^2/R just made me feel like an idiot cause i have no idea what you're talking about
  6. Ok my friend has a type s in a ported box and a type r in a sealed box, both are prefab and both D4. He was told that the amp he has which is the Legacy LA1990 was $400 but he said he had no idea what kind of amp it was or even the name of it. i found it online and its more like a $100 amp, But im confused about the rms some websites are giving it. All i can find is 2×1000 output 1×2000 bridged output, 2×175 output 2×260 bridged and something like 0.04×1000 output. Now he told me about 2 weeks ago he had it wired at 4 ohms than yesterday he told me he had it bridged. He honestly thought he was running more than 1000watts and after i told him his amp was probably only 400 watts he said no way, i told him if you had 1000 watts your Windows would be flexing and yours doesn't even flex a little. This is also coming from a guy that thought just because i have 1/0 gauge wire that means my back window is guaranteed to blow out haha. I know it wont and i understand my friend doesn't know what he is talking about but all i want to know is if anyone knows anything about this amp and its true rms so he will stfu about his amazing amp that over heats in 40 min of playing. full name is Legacy LA1990 2 channel amp
  7. Thanks again man, everything is looking good so far
  8. Thanks again man, everything is looking good so far
  9. Wow, that look amazing. I really really appreciate that man. Thank you so much
  10. Ohh, well if it helps any i have had quite a few people tell me the same thing, i asked a similar question a few months back and i had a few guys tell me i should have my subs pointing back because it can help reduce port noise if i used the jls measurements
  11. How should i do that
  12. Thanks a lot, I'm really not trying to sound like an idiot im just to excited about all of this
  13. I apologize for that and yes you are correct, my trunk width was actual 37" instead of 41" and my height is actually 26" instead of 31". I didn't take into fact that their are two side humps that shrink the width of my trunk and their is a hump behind my back seat that shrinks the width. I'm pretty sure my depth measurements are correct though
  14. I have been trying to figure out a good 32hz box for two jl audio 12w6v2 but so far no one has been able to help me without saying i can build on for you. I already have all the wood and other stuff so i would like to make it myself. If anyone can help me please let me know
  15. So i double checked the measurements and yeah i messed them up a little but if the 34" W x 14" H x 23.25 D works that would fit perfectly in my trunk. My max width of my trunk is 37" instead of 41" because of two side humps and my max height is 26" because of a hump that runs behind my seats . Everything else is correct
  16. Shit man you didnt offend me, i worded that wrong. I just wanted to let you know i didnt half ass it and just look measurements up online but yeah you are right about the humps an shit..i think im going to go double check haha
  17. that would be sweet, right now im trying to find out as much as i can from people. what else would you like me to find out? right now i have a JL audio bandpass box sitting in my trunk and it fits with left over space for 2 amps to lay on each side of the box but i did the measurements myself i didn't just look online. .
  18. Oh, and im going to be running them with a jl 1000/1 so about 500watt in each speaker
  19. sorry it took me a min to get the measurements but here they are Max trunk width: 41 inch Max height: 31 inches for the depth of my trunk it shrinks because its a hatchback but Depth at its lowest point 17.5inches Depths at its highest point 24.5 inches
  20. well i know if i used the measurements the website gives me and i put the ports either in the middle or on the side it wont fit because it would be around 50 inches wide and that sure as hell wont fit in my trunk but if i put the ports on top it would be about 28 inches wide and a height of 25.75 inches and that would fit..i got the measurements of my tunk before i just didnt write it down
  21. ok dont make fun of me but its a 1995 mitsubishi eclipse rs
  22. umm i dont really know what my max demention would but >.> but i will be running them with a 1000/1 amp so i guess about 500watts each?
  23. So I'm building a ported box and i am definitely a noob at all this. I have 2 jl audio 12w6 and online they give me all the measurements for the ported box. My problem is i'm confused on the tuning aspect of ported enclosures. I'm going to give you all a link to jls website at the bottom that tells you all the measurements for the box. Now if i have this right all i have to do is fallow the port measurements (and all the other measurements of course) and my box will be tuned to 32hz right? http://www.jlaudio.com/12w6v2-d4-car...-drivers-92121 go to specifications tab and at the bottom it will say ported enclosure specifications I know its only for one subwoofer but it says "When using two subwoofers in a common enclosure simply double the required volume and, in the case of a ported enclosure, use two times the recommended port(s)." so thats all i would have to do correct? cause someone told me thats not all i have to do and thats why im a little confused.
  24. Right now im slowly building my system and so far i have Two 12w6 and a JL audio 1000/1v2 amp. Id like to know what guage wire i should use and if anyone had any advice on a good headunit for the subs
