lol ok thanks. im not a tard in the game. not asking if the speaker sounds blown im only asking about experiences with swapping out the driver only in the doors.

its not like a sound of a dirty coil, or a blown speaker persay but more of like a dirty sound on the track of a CD... but i tried 2 CDs and same thing.. and its not on every track.. only some. seems to be FRQz sensitive , when i got into the truck it was very bad.. but then i adjusted some of the levels, and it got better, almost completely gone. but its still there on some tracks.

well that should not be an issue,. as at this point he has no sub, and a aftermarket stereo, its just cracking up.. its a weird sound.. so im going to start with the speakers, and check into the wiring of the harness at the same time. i was just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the ohm load being off.. as im not sure what the stock 6.5s impedance is. so if i were to replace it with a 4 ohm i was not sure if it would purpose too little resistance to the head unit. or if it will be fine. IE the tweeter is a 8 or 6 ohm, yadda yadda yadda you get where im going.

my bosses son has a 03 chevy 1500 cab and a half with the 4 speaker non onstar,. from what i know it has 6.5s in the fron doors with a what seems .5 inch tweeter mounted above the 6.5 ..... the 6.5s are trashed, i wanted to see if anyone has had any luck with just replacing the driver... i have a pair of 6.5 mid bass speakers laying around brand new in box, they are 4 ohm. i wanted to just switch out the driver and leave the tweeter, looking for anyone that has been in the doors, thanks

we had another member from wimberly.. but he moved here to san marcos.. then his truck got broken into and he never came on here again.. althought he works at lowes and i see him from time to time.

a friend of mine has a pioneer avic-f90bt and he is running a 300/4 and a 500/1 when he has the balance/fade centered, it cuts out all low and mid frequencies, when he fades it all the way to the front or to the rear, it plays at a normal full range strangest problem i have seen. i have yet to get in there for my self, but i asked him the following, how many sets of RCA are being used : 3 are you sure they are all into "outputs" on the head unit :yes did you try another amp : yes a boston 4 channel same issue have you tried another head unit : no he also stated that pioneer has a few updates on the site, i recommended he reset the head unit, and then download the software updates. dont think it matters but the speakers are : front stage, aura 5/14 comps, rear is 6 inch boston comps. thanks fellas,.

i kept poping my breakers to the rear batteries .. thats why my voltage was so low in the rear... i was not pleased with my car this weekend. thank you oscar for the vids. and luke for the kind words

i wanted to congratulate steve again for his wicked score. and a great showing at the import face offs, he was indeed the best in show. the SSA SS is so fucking loud. the vids do NO justice for this car, it pulled the crowd fast and for good reason, 156.3 was the official score i believe loudest of the day! great job steve !

no it runs and drives just fine.. he came 3 hours to the show,, and he came the night before. you can come take pics of the other peoples cars next time.
