on my shades i had the same problem.. i was buyin tempered wood screws... and they dont stretch they just snap.. i started using these gray wood screws and i have only had 2 out of my whole build break in the past year.

i personaly found that 1200 watts or so on my old fully loaded bl's was about as much as i could throw at them in my box daily..

head room is the best way.. you can never have too much head room. simply back the gain down... and adjust your cross over accordingly i would rather have more power anyday then not enough.. when you do nt have enough you run the risk of clippping you speakers trying to get all the power you can from a smaller amp... no question is a stupid question when you take time like you do to ask the correct question .. i comend you.

sorry i know im late in the game. cummins is the best motor around. when it comes to a pick up truck. duramax hellll no! i tow toooo many of those.. trucks with less then 3k with shattered pistons.. and GM states that they are not intended to idle for long times...... that blew my mind. and fuck a ford 6.0 thats a joke of a motor.. i have seen soooooo many problems with them.. i can give a list if needed.

the big three is not a cure all.. it is done to stiffen your charging system.. DC voltage is only as good as its weakest link.... and an OEM car is not built for anything to pull 85 plus amps.. IE the 8~10 gauge wire for the + off the alt and the same for ground,. when doing the big three you are only preping your car for more draw.... your problem at this point is not enough amp hours on your cell.. you need a bigger battery.. or to add a cell in the trunk. then later of course a H/o alt. are you bringing your RPMs up on your car to around 2K while doing demos? if not you should be.. a 60 amp alt at idle is only putting out around 20 amps at idle if that. so if course that sundown is gonna take that little power thats in your battery and kill it right away.. i would add a cell fast or stop pushing it so hard for now... cause killing that battery like that and then putting the stress on that alt will kill it. alts are made to cycle on .. off ..on.. when they run none stop heat will cook the grease on your bearings, the reficater will stick open and melt then start to cook your stater winding. did someone say that they dont fuse factory alt leads??? i have never seen one with out. somtimes they wont look like a fuse. just looks like a lump in the wire.. and thats a fuseble link. just my two cents.

And where do you live? 1000 is insane for a noise citation. sounds like florida to me.. i lived there for like 14 years... it is indeed the loudest state... soooooo many dope boys with re tarted loud cars and trucks.. then you have tons of show cars with walls more 160 DB vans and suvs then anywhere else. they will ticket you impound your car.. and throw you in jail once you get to a certin point.
