  1. So was driving to a buddies house and came around a corner and nailed a rock. Shattered my rim, broke my bumper, and pretty sure the shock on that side is toast. Thats not the worst part. Was up on the summit of a mountain and the Oregon department of transportation told us a tow truck was on the way. 7+ hours later my old roommate showed up with a spare and some tools to change it. Was not a fun night.
  2. Posted this in my build log but figured id throw it up here also. Not very good vids but they work. Need some sound deadening, and some more tuning. Interior video. Exterior video. Song is "Don't let me fall" by B.o.B Gotta click on the pics. Sorry dont know how to imbed with photobucket.

  4. Yeah def loving it. My car not so much. Keep thinking the subs sound funny but its just my car falling apart. Need some deadening stat.
  5. Driving around it stayed mostly around 14.5-14.7. DC Power ftw.
  6. Alrighty the weather prevailed a little bit so was able to finish installing for the most part. Battery didn't show up at Les Schwab so the install isn't totally complete. But on with the pics. Internals of the Audiopipe 3000.1D Checking the box in the hatch area. Empty hatch area. Quite a mess. The tray under the false floor. Cut out 2 holes that will let me slide the yellow tops in nicely. One of the yellow tops in. Will have to wait for the other one till next week. Box with the Xcons inside. Sitting at idle at the amp. If the weather is nice again tomorrow I will try to get some vids. I managed to scare my mom and my sister today and didn't get either on film.....fail I know.
  7. I can't link stuff cus I'm posting from my phone but its one of the stickies in the amplifier section. How to set your gains without sn oscope.
  8. Can't you just glue those back on no problem? I think you can.
  9. Can't seem to find that clip. It's in the thermite vs. ice episode.

So I'm sitting there at my house waiting for dinner and watching mythbusters. They are doing a myth about subwoofers being able to set off a sks rifle. So they go to a stereo shop and the store owner talks them into using the square mtx subs. My mom turns to me and says "don't you start drooling". I looked at my 2 xcon 15's sitting on the floor and said "I think I will be fine".
  11. Well the weekend starts. Been up since about 11am pst yesterday and will probably go to sleep in the am tonight.
  12. Well its cool and all that i'm getting off early but it will be 18 hours worked within a 21 hour window. Thank jeebus for Monster energy drinks.
  13. Well the 12 hour shift is done. Getting ready to head back for the 6 hour shift. Then a 4 day weekend.
  14. Working a 12 hour shift till 3am then coming back at 6am for a 6 hour shift. Gotta love shutting down for the holidays.
  15. I was just saying that I didn't know. I've almost always ran sealed boxes so never had to deal with that. Looked up your amp and it says your low pass is like 40-160hz. So I would assume below that is cut off but I may be wrong.
  16. Does your amp have a set ssf? I know some amps have a non adjustable type. Think they are usually 30-35hz. Perhaps check your manual. I don't have any exp with external ssf's but that one you linked look like it would do the job. Dunno if going down to 25 would be too low though.
  17. I don't understand how 2 years is quick? Sorry that was more directed towards those that are dogging dc cus of one problem. That they aren't part of.
  18. Ok update time: I ripped the baffles off and redid them, also redid the middle partition since I had to go buy more mdf anyways. Measuring out the center of each baffle. First actual cut. Circle in the background was my test run. During all this didn't even realize UPS had shown up. Sitting pretty. Input side of amp. Controls. Test fitting the baffle. After inserting the hurricane nuts. Caulking. Same from other side. Backside is put on. Inside before caulking the backside. First coat of paint. Behr Flat Black. Waiting on my dayton binding post to show up, and to finish painting the box. Will have to continue next week. Really glad I redid the baffle after buying a circle jig. Hopefully have everything to hear by next weekend.
  19. As one of the 2% I would still recommend dc alts to anyone. My alt took around a month to get. The whole time dc's customer service was top notch. Sometimes shit just happens. In my case the cases they received were cracked. That's just an example of how things can be out of their hands. And when my alt was ready Kyle even upgraded it for me for free for the trouble of waiting. Its sad that todays consumers are so quick to try and sink a company because of one problem. They could send out 10000 alts with no problem but one bad one would send all the haters into a frenzy. In closing. DC ALTS FTW.
  20. WE must have video of this! Lol I work alone so it would pretty hard to get. Plus it very rarely snows here in Oregon. But it was pretty fun to say the least.
  21. Really wish it would quit raining and just snow. Working outside I can deal with snow but rain is a such a bitch. Plus when it snows I get to drift my 37k lb forklift.
  22. The advantage on that jasper one is smaller circles. Mine will only go down to 10". Will get some more mdf this week.
  23. Outhopu......this is the one I picked up. According to their site it works with ryobi routers so I don't foresee any problems. I'll let you know how it works out. http://www.milescraft.com/groups/turnlock.html
  24. Lol the dining room was the only place I could. No garage and its been storming pretty good. And that's not good bout the jig. I guess ill have to see if I can make it work.
  25. Well since I wasn't satisfied with how the baffle came out I'm gonna rip it off and redo it. Ordered a circle jig for my router so hopefully the holes won"t come out so bad. Will not countersink this time just so I have plenty of wood to hold on to for the hurricane nuts. pics inc later this week.
