with my max dimensions i think i can go up to about 7.5 cubes if i go with a slot port maybe 8 if i go with aeros..do you know how much port area you have in that box?

So around 7cubes with 100in per. Been playing around with re's enclosure calculator and thinking about one right know that will be about 6.4ft3 after sub and port displacement and 105 inches of port...think that will work? for a daily set up not a comp set up

well i ended up going with the kenwood if anyone was wondering lol. Got the amp ordered today as well. wiring showed up yersterday so now just need head, amp and sub to show up

So i have a sub on the way and am needing some box design help. I have a 18" death penalty that will be powered by a ppi bk1800.1d. I listen to mainly rap music with occasional nod to korn rob zombie and such and the wife makes me listen to country on rare occasion. Will be going in a 2008 gmc envoy. I emailed IA and they replied 5 to 7.5 cubes 60 to 120in of port most common 5 to 6 cubes at 70 to 90 inches 32-37hz Would like to use areo ports 1 or multiple which ever seems to get most suggestions.. probably like it between 33 and 34hz Probably like sub up ports back unless box gets to close to gate max dimensions are 45 wide x 19high x 26 deep Thanks for any help or suggestions

the jvc is 5v the kenwood is 2.5v..would i even notice a difference?

i was pretty much sold on the jvc one but figured i would ask about the others

really just wanted a front usb and a 3.5mm jack. would be nice to have a separate sub control but since my amp will have a remote really don't need it. For the most part all have the same options just different rms wattage and output voltage. Will be running my 6.5s off the deck but not a big wattage diffence between any of them. i think the lowest is the pioneer at 14rms and the high is the jvc at 22rms. Really just wanting to know if anyone has any real world use with them. i have used like 3 pioneers in the past and thought they sounded great..until i had purchased a eclipse deck. but have had use of the other brands

JVC KW.R900bt Clarion cx501 kenwood dpx500bt pioneer fhx700bt Alpine cde w235bt Anyone have any experience with any of these? Pretty sure all will do the job just the reviews are all pretty much the same so looking for better opinions

well i can see how to do it but afraid if i just go out there with a screwdriver popping that panel off i will mess up my paint. gonna stop by harbor freight and see if they have those non marring tools and take a crack at it

So I got my 2 sets of 6.5s for my envoy the other day in the mail. But the weather sucks andi have no garage or expertise in installing then.... so anyone around kokomo with a garage and tools feel like helping me out??? Lol

i had heard hifonics wasn't that bad. so that's good to know. Already planning at least the big 3. figured wouldn't really be able to hear the difference between 1500 & 2000 watts maybe 1db diff so i am not going to strain my system for something i won't really notice

Less then 250. and the monday sale wont help i am gonna have to wait a few months to get the amp. Was just wondering which of the cheaper brands tend to be more electrical system friendly..if there is such a thing lol

So i went a lil over budget when i ordered my sub so i need to go kind of cheap on amp. I have a 18" D2 Death Penalty on the way that is 2k rms. I have read through page after page of post on this and other forums but still need some help. i have narrowed it down to 6 brands which i am all sure would be fine but was wondering if you guys could help to which tends to be a more efficient brand. i have owned a ssd before back about 5 years ago. Ran it in a large ported box that was originally made for memphis mojo..think it was like 5cubes at 32hz. At first it was ran off a us amps Merlin md23 2 channel and when i fried that amp switch to a Memphis 2 channel that was only 400 watts and it was quite the beast. hit a 142 on the dash with term lab. Then only option i has at the time was i had opted for the copper coil..yeah that was back when they were free shipping Fi does make a great product, was actually considering ordering a 18" BL off of them, but just ordered my Death Penalty about a hour ago. i think you would have been fine with just a standard ssd on 1200 watts didn't need to spend the extra on any options unless you are p[planning some major abuse to it, i actually burped mine once using a soundstream xxx6500d which gave it about 4000watts
