Will not work well. I figured that, but do you have any insight why? I know I read one time an spl competitor used a small 2 channel amp as a line driver simply because they needed the voltage because it was split between so many amps (rather than using Y cables) but that's SPL so obviously signal quality isnt too paramount in that case.

I've been trying to figure this out and figured I would put it out there for the gurus. Is there any real difference between speaker level and line level signals other than the voltage and the ability to drive a speaker level load (2-4 ohms vs 100ish or whatever for an amp). I guess what I'm really asking is this: Say we have a headunit that puts out 25 watts at 4 ohms. which by my calculation would be 10 volts. Now lets take that and plug it into an amp that can handle 10 volts (or split into two amps for 5 each). Is this fine to do or would it not work well?
  3. I think you have conflicting goals... You want to be louder than 6 15's with 6000 watts but 2 12's will be too loud for you?
  4. Merry XMAS to all!
  5. rrriiiiigggghhhhttttttt.......... I'll just keep this simple. Don't mix subs. Ever.
  6. What's wrong with the Behr? I've heard of alot of car audio guys using them.
  7. Alrighty, so I picked myself up a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT AWD a couple weeks ago. It's got navigation and the Boston Acoustics 6 speaker system (which incidentally is not all that bad for factory, but it is still factory...). I plan on keeping the factory headunit. Peripheral makes a line out converter with a harness that connects before the factory amp. So my plans for the rest of the system are as follows: I want to do an active frontstage. I want to use the Sundown 100.4 and use the built in crossovers to begin with and eventually add an outboard crossover (incidentally I wouldn't mind some opinions on a decent active crossover). For woofers I'm going to use Mach5 MLI65's (because I have them) and for tweeters Seas 27TFFNC/G http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1466 (again because I have them). These may get upgraded down the road I just bought them all to play with never did so they just say on the shelf. I'd like to keep stock locations which are doors and dash which I know isn't ideal but I don't really want to do too much to the doors unless it will all fit behind the factory grill. Oh, I'm thinking about running a Behringer DEQ2496. Now the place where I need some advice/opinions on is substage. I'm kind of a basshead so i want LSQ but I'm at a budget for space because I want to use the rear pockets for the subs as shown here: http://www.artofnoiseaudio.com/magnumenclosures.php From what I've measured and heard there should be about .5 to .7 cubic feet available per side. So I'm thinking either a sealed 10 or ported 8 per side. One idea I've had is FiQ 10's off a Sundown 1500. I appreciate all of your opinions and damn I type too much.

Alright hoping someone could help me out I need some measurements on a 10" Q. I need total height from bottom of magnet to top of surround and I see the mount depth is listed as 6.5". Is that depth listed the actual depth of the sub or does it include airflow room. If so about how much clearance do I need behind the magnet. I need to know because I plan on building some custom enclosures in my new magnum. I want to fit them in the rear pockets and still leave room for the lower tray to open. Anyone done these on here before and have any tips? Thanks guys.
  9. all of that to recreate the sound of a $50 amp head well hell, I do have a set of Polk RTi 10's for computer speakers gotta love the overkill
  10. I emailed orders a couple days ago and haven't gotten an answer yet. Does anyone know what it would be for 6 12's costs shipped/
