i thought the ixl 18's were all the lineup needed...size matters cant wait to see the ixl 15's though

I went over to mark's house and got to play with his Term Lab. Magic freq was 42hz and i did a 145.7 off a Tone and 143 off music. the van is nothing but rattles though. Box is tuned to low 30's. wasnt able to run everything at full tilt because of voltage loss.

the kids should enjoy their new seats right infront of the wall

well im rebuilding the box so i can fit all 3 ports on one side but its still gunna be just as ugly as anything would be with 4 18 inch black drivers pounding away inside it...no pun intended i swear. yea the power part is the only thing i kinda would like to change i should of maybe went with the 4ohm instead of 8 since my amp runs at 2ohm and its not too stable from what i hear at 1...but i bet with box rise id be okay oh well...just need more 18;s to even it out:D

8 18's in a minivan eh....4000/8=500 minus various reasons for losing wattage say...400 watts per sub....do mj 18's get loud off 400 watts?

yea the box isnt finished wasnt sure about ports so i didnt wanna finish it off yet

i had my input really low for my ipod on the headunit and forgot all about it so thats why they seemed not nearly as loud...but i really wanna do the ports now

no idea to be honest but it would buy me a battery so im tempted now so 8 6' ports at 9 and a half hummm could do that but where can i get that much cardboard from i tossed all my boxes out now!!! jk..gotta love sono tubes

the volume is fine for me, i didnt want a fart cannon, now i gotta take out my cd player and hook up the constant power...somthing got messed up during the instal and my headunit resets everytime i turn off the car

I went to marks house (mach 5 audio ) 3 days ago and picked up 4 mj 18's So i had to take out the old BTL left my van empty and lacking bass...untill...20 cubes and 30 hz later yes, thats my wire running above the carpet....no i wasnt too lazy to run it under the carpet i just have this place mat carpet the previous owner used in the back of the van so i just put it over the wires, you cant see them and the carpet doesnt move unless i move it. its not a ton louder then my single 15 BTL, but these are tuned to 30hz and i think they might move a bit more air yea the box is fugly but what box isnt after havin 4 big black monsters pounding away in it.

well mine dont give me loss of hearing at all maybe im tuned too low...30 hz but you can deff feel the things moving some serious air ill get mark to look at it on sat and lemme know how i did

yeah im gunna do 20 cubes ported to 30 hz 2 boxes that are each 10 cubes just so that i can move chit

oh im going ported forsure, i was just saying bandpass cause of 80's Bandpass boner that he has:P well lets see how bad\good my box building skills are so far have 3 sides and the port done for 1 box. going with 2 boxes each housing 2 18's. Ports are firing rear subs firing up. should have it all going by this weekend

im going 4 mj 18's right now just gotta start the build hopefully tonite

well 4 18 inch subs sticking up is alot easier to see and figure out what they are then a big box

Im planning on putting 4 mj 18's in the back of my dodge caravan, . im not looking for big numbers i just want some kick you the nuts kind of bass... the question is if i fire the subs down with maybe 3-6 inches of clearance from the floor of the van how bad would it be? also if i were to do that any suggestions on what way i should be facing the port? i want to fire them down so they are A) more hidden ( i live in a REALLY bad area) and B) i still need to use the back of the van... any help or input i would be greatful for
