New Headunit
i already know the 9800BT lacks many of the features of the 880prs but my question is what is the difference between the 880 and the 800? and would these pioneer models be comparable or better then the alpine 9887 and the new eclipse cd7200?

New Headunit
I currently have a Pioneer 9800BT headunit with the ipod interface. I want to run active and unfortunately this headunit is not capable of meeting my needs. I want a headunit that is very SQ and processing oriented. I was looking at the Pioneer 880prs hoping that it could be a direct drop in. What is the difference between the 800 and the 880prs? Also is the new eclipse CD7200MKII far superior then the 880prs? and how does the alpine 9887 stack up in this lineup. This headunit will run to a sundown 100.4 amp which amps Peerless HDS tweets and the sea excel 18nx mids. Any suggestions and opinions would be appreciated.

Peerless HDS
Currently i have the Pioneer 9800BT Headunit. I read the instructions for the front and rear filters but why is 50 - 200hz the only range it can crossed at? http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...=5684&avf=N

Peerless HDS
i kind of want to take the next step and put in an electric crossover and bypass all these filters. would that secure more of an exact crossover? i remember i was considering an external crossover before. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3927

Peerless HDS
Newb Question - if the headunit provides a 12db slope and the amp also gives a 12db slope do they add together to get a 24db slope?

Would crossing these tweeters over at 1200 be to low? Has anyone had any experience with them? Also how much power do they like?

Amp to power front, center and rear channels?
What amp could power tower fronts center and rear channels? Fronts: http://www.partsexpress.com/projectshowcas...project=Jubilee Center: http://www.partsexpress.com/projectshowcas...m?project=UniCC not sure on rears but guessing no more then 40 rms needed? This is my first 5.1 build. I built 2 bookshelf desktop speakers and they came out great. Just not sure about amplification.

Mids for front stage paired with peerless hds
i agree with the underlap because of the way i hear music. i think of it as a chain that i dont want to miss any links. The excels are bothering me because i know they break up easily above 1200 and i dont know how low the peerless will play. the supremos i have now which i want to sell cant play as low and for the price i rather just sell them. i really want to keep the excels bc i think that detailed midrange is worth giving up some midbass.

Mids for front stage paired with peerless hds

Mids for front stage paired with peerless hds
Pioneer 9900 headunit, sundown 100.4, peerless hds tweets, looking for a 7 inch mid that can run up to 1600. Would the sea nextels be my best bet? I may want more midbass if i could.

Building a 3 way setup
Currently have pioneer 9900 headunit, sundown 100.4, morel supremo tweeters and sea excel w18ex. Want to cross the seas at 1200 and morels at 2200. So i want to get another speaker to fill in this range 1200 - 2200. What would be the easiest way to do this? What would i need, external processor? Will i need another 2 channel amp? Also what are some good midrange speakers. ranging from $100 - 250 for a pair. Would be in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not completely sure of install yet.

New mids?
how hard would it be to go 3 way. Cross my seas at 1200 n supremos at 2200 could I get a midrange to fill that range. Any suggestions?
-
New mids?
what makes the nextels better and how high can they be crossed?
-
New mids?
right now i have the sea excel w18 but cant cross them high enough because of cone break up. would the L3's be able to be crossed around 2200? The L3 is a small driver tho more for midrange it seems. the seas i have now are 7 inch i think i am leaning more towards midbass. even tho im confused as hell why the speakers i have now dont sound right

New mids?
What pair of mids suggested in this trend would integrate nicely with a pair of morel supremo tweeters. Probably crossing them around 2200.

Subwoofer build
Well just built two bookshelf speakers to replace logitech speakers on a 2.1 system of theres. So using that plate amp. No adjustable crossover on it. Actually never thought to think it has sometype of crossover bc it must have haha

Subwoofer build
I want to build a new subwoofer design either an 8inch or 10 inch sub running off a 120rms plate amp. What are some good subs out there and also would need to build a crossover for it. ive been searching for some diy builds but haven't found any for an 8 or a 10 inch with a driver matching my amp.
