  1. hi, what is the rule of thumb for port tuning to gun for in SPL install? 45~48hz? cheers
  2. hi, I'm using the online port calculator at RE Audio to calculate the port dimensions. However, if i want to use two subs in a shared air space, how do i calculate the port dimensions for a shared port on the two subs? or it does not matter since the port dimensions will depend on the box volume only.

thanks Booosh. It is a long read but with details I do have Autosound discs and i'm using them when scoping the amp output. But is it ok to use tone generator to generate test tone at 0db? is tone generator accurate in terms of dB level?

i just wanted to know what is the correct way of using oscilloscope to set amplifier gain. 1. Do you scope the amp with the speakers connected? or just hook up the scopemeter to the amp speaker terminal? 2. What test tone to use to set subwoofer amp, midrange amp and tweeter amp? Will 50hz and 1khz be sufficient? I do notice that if i set amp gain at 80hz and then play 50hz test tone, the amp output is clipped. So how low on test tone frequency shall i use for sub amp? 3. For music playback, is it better to use 0db test tone or -3db / -6 db for gain overlap? thanks

  8. when u said that the parking brake connection to be grounded, i would assume it is to negative terminal? FYI, the unit is not in my car yet. I just use my test bench to check if everything is ok first.
  9. d parking brake connection is not connected. Does it have any interlock to video playback? how do i bypass it? thx
  10. still not able to play movie. Has it got to do with those NTSC/PAL setting?
  11. i have d owners manual but the pictures in the book is not the same as the screen display. also when d monitor comes out, how much will it go back in when it settle for playback? all the way in or half-way? thanks
  12. hi, I just got a Kenwood DVD player with monitor (KVT-819 DVD) and when i tested it, i do get the sound but the screen is not showing any video. It is still at the playback menu but i see no buttons to press to show the movie. anyone familiar with Kenwood DVD player? thanks.
  13. yep, i know that will not affect the subs but it is the feeling of seeing your new subs come with imperfection. Kind of buying brand new car with a dented door.. BTW, how can i polish those blemishes?
  14. I see the BL has vent holes at the sides all around. But how do other subs do their cooling since they do not have side vents but only pole vent? i believe that is the conventional way of cooling the voice coil
  15. i mean they really DROP it buhuhu..
