I have the same problem. Mostly with reading though. I think I would rather have someone verbally explain something to me rather than try to make sense out of text. Whose all in for EE now? I'm just curious after all the EE talk tonight. Thinking about continuing my education and going for EE now that I almost have my AAS

Yeah makes sense. Like where I used to work, there were machines that counted parts, possibly thousand an hour by dropping through an array of eyes and then packaged them. Pretty crazy stuff. Lock washers that were 1/4" in diam. and fell through the sensors and were counted. Not 100% accurate but accurate to +/-5%. Could use stats there given a certain batch and how accurate all the counts are. It made sense in my head. I'm going on little sleep and having an even harder time going to bed now

Stats are easy. But time consuming. Whats the standard deviation of blah. and blah. That's about all I remember about statistics now. But why are you doing stats from that class? How does it apply?

I wanted to keep similar values without having to hide caps on the underside. I ended up going with a Dynaco ST-70 PS cap. The 30/20/20/20 and another 32/32 from PE. The dynaco cap cost me about 45. Pretty close to OG values. Speaking of caps, I got a bunch of high voltage caps from school they were going to throw out. A bunch of different capacitance values with voltage ratings anywhere between 500 and 1000. Good luck with that Altec. You'll have to let me know how it goes and get me some pictures of the progress. Well that is when you get the cash!

I know he's not limited to just audio either. He's got a RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) degree, Some degree having to do with Cisco networking and has worked in just about every field, RF, telecommunications, network, industrial control, audio etc.

He used to do some kind of audio engineering with large sound systems. And commercial design. Not sure exactly actually. Some of that stuff is nuts, however i just browsed through a copy and never had a chance to actually read it It's all about setting up speaker systems and it takes every aspect of the electronics and acoustics of sound systems.

Now if I could have classes where we actually discussed real world applications and studied them as would be used in practice as an engineer, I think I would enjoy that quite a bit more, but not so much. It wasn't that it was based on real world applications but when you have profs who understand that you need to learn by applying something it makes it easier for them to cater to you. Having more personal time with the professors was the real key probably. You mean everyone doesn't learn by assigning problem after problem from a text book and doing it over and over? speaking of, I really ought to start on my hw tonight.... My teacher used to do work in the audio industry, so he can relate a lot of situations into audio related. Works keeping me interested

Very true, but I think all the more basic chit like circuit theory one could all be taught as a 2 semester hands on lab and lecture rolled into one. Then again a lot of EE students I know don't give a chit about hands on, hell a lot of them couldn't wire a f'ing light switch if you told them to. So many people in my circuits lab last semester couldn't figure out how to wire up a circuit of 5-6 components with the diagram right in front of them. 'Twas ridiculous. I'd like to see them solder Serious....LOL AHAhAHAHAHA

It pisses me off to no end too. There needs to be a mix of theory and hands on. Thank god K-state still does quite a bit of hands on for engineering schools from what I understand. Majority of my education is hands on I'll go as far as saying 60-65% is hands on. It works
