No deadning yet. I'm waiting til I begin my wall before I buy any. I was wanting diy drivers in the beginning. I would still like to do it and possibly still go active. I don't know if it would be a good idea with my lack of experience though. Maybe if I was walked through it I would understand how. I searched for like an hour on how to, but never found what I was looking for. You know I was thinking about AA componets, They seemed like a decent choice, but I can't find models or anything anywhere on here, that would still leave me w/o a tweet though.

I would probably spend up to 300 on speakers. I was going to get the 100.4, also I figure if I can get the same amp yet refurbished with the same warrenty at a cheaper price I might aswell do it....

good choice on the amp for those 2ohm components. (if you change to a 4 ohm component set id recommend a 50.4) how did you arrive at picking that set specifically? i would suggest you look into other components, maybe some searches and reviews that might steer you to a better set for the money (just to be safe). how much did you find those speaker for? They were like 149. I was just looking around and read some decent reviews. I was also looking at the kicker qs or rs series. I don't know any non "name" brands, speaker wise anyway. That is why I made the topic, I figured maybe someone might post a few good brands. As you can see noone did. So I searched around a bit.

Ok so I think I have decided on Infinity kappa 60.9cs components and sundown sax100.2. That seems like a good place to start.

Ok I'm going to just go passive. It seems the easier way to go with my lack of experience with front stages. I will get whatever amp that will suit my needs. I'm not going to know what speakers I like unless I hear them, so I will just buy some that seem like a good buy. I don't want some alpine components, nothing like that. I want to do a DIY front stage. Just someone please give me some advice on some speakers. I will go with silk dome tweeters. I'm sorry that I don't know much about the front stage or which speakers are which. I will admit I am a noob at that. I will say I do ont think I am a noob at sub stage, I may not know as much as some, but for what I am doing I know enough. I did research on front stage and did not find what I wanted, that is why I posted the topic. So please no more bashing or whatever. Just please help me understand what active/passive is exactly. Just let me know what you run, the ups and downs of it and what you would recomend for my prefences. Again I listen to rap, classic rock,and heavy metal. I drive a 2000 GMC Jimmy, Substage is 1 18" Xcon, saz 1500d. H/u is a Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD. If you need any other info just let me know.

Honestly I don't know. I mean I have pioneer coaxials in every avalable place in my car. I don't like the way they sound. Alpines seem to whiney sounding. Other than that I haven't heard much. That's a start. Easy to beat that. Go listen to some stuff. Your ears will really help us narrow this down. If you don't you'll end up with a set of speakers that someone on here likes and not what you like. *note* you don't have to just listen to car audio stuff Btw way I have some MTX cabinets in my room. I love thir sound. They are some old ones, but they are clear as day, and sound pretty good.

I mostly listen to rap. Some rock and some heavy metal. I hit 141.8 on a TL. I bought my sub because my other one blew, I was more focused on it, now I realize that sub stage isn't everything. I want to learn more about front stage, active passive all that stuff. I just want an opinion on what mids and tweets to buy. I don't always have my sub on full blast. If I am better off dumping my 4X6 I will I really want to learn more about this stuff. I have learned a lot on this forum an would like to further my knowledge....

Actually I am confused. I have never really messed with my front stage. I just want something that I will be able to hear, I want it to be clear, I am willing to spend whatever will satisfy my needs. If going active is going to be a big mess with my lack of experience then I will go passive. But I still really don't understand the difference. Someone please just steer me In the right direction.....

It is going in a 2000 Gmc Jimmy, h/u is a pioneer avh-p 5000DVD. Idk what the mounting depth is in the doors, An 8 would be nice, but I'm not sure if it will fit. I'm not sure if I can even go active still. I need to do some more research. I will more than likely do a 2way , if I can't go 3way. I need advice on speakers. What would sound good and keep uo with my 18" XCON.

Well with my research, I found that active sounds better, and gets louder, Also has a lot more play wth tuning which frequencies for each speaker. Now if my h/u is capable of going active I would like to do a 3 way set up. 6 1/2 midbass in the doors , 3" fullrange in the stock 4X6 mount, and tweeters in the a-pillars. I need opinions on what speakers/tweets to get. I mostly listenin to rap, rock, an heavy metal. I would like to go 3way active if possible if not then 2 pairs of tweets, 1 in 4X6 1 in the a pillars. Ok so recently I have really been itching to do a nice front stage to go along with my sub stage. I don't really know what active/passive really is. I also don't know if my h/u is capable of going active. I was looking to get a sax100.4. I need advice on what mids and highs to get. I am currently running all pioneer 61/2's an 4X6's. No real spending limit, well there is I guess but I can always save up moola.
