Well that sucks for you. How do you live without a basement? I couldn't do it. We use the attic space for HVAC, typically. This house? Not so typical. All three bids include relocating the unit(s) into the attic, redoing the ducting the right way, adding new return(s), and extending the gas line(s), FWIW. We're probably going to go the two single stage units route.

But yes, having basements for HVAC, electrical, and washer/dryer is definitely the way to go if your water table is low enough
