  1. Basically just raped and pillaged the local dealership; 2010 Silverado 1500 LT crew cab, power everything, 2WD, 5.3 LMG engine, 6L80 trans, GovLok rear, HD trailer package, spray in bedliner, yadda yadda, yadd. MSRP ~36, got it for 19, used Ol' Blue and The Big Green as down payment, plus got a $1k gift certificate for one of the local furniture dealers. Hate to seem them go, but it is time. At least our driveway won't look like a used parking lot anymore Memorial Day sales are fun, especially when you get to make the sales guy squirm in his seat. EDIT: I got bored so here are the basic highlights Mechanical Bits: Vortec 5.3 LMG (iron block, aluminum heads, Active Fuel Management, FlexFuel, 315 hp @ 5200 rpm, 335 lb./ft. @ 4000 rpm, 6,000 redline) GM 6L80 trans (4.03, 2.36, 1.53, 1.15, 0.85, 0.67, 3.06) External oil and trans coolers, heavy-duty radiator GM 8.6 rear end, 3.42 ratio w/LSD Other Bits: AM/FM/XM stereo with MP3 CD player, radio data system, speed-compensated volume, front AUX input 2-inch receiver, 7-wire harness, wiring harness for after-market trailer brake controller Power-adjustable pedals, ultrasonic rear parking assist, rear-window defogger Front 40/20/40 split-bench Spray-In Bedliner Power Windows Cruise Control Remote Entry Power Locks

  7. Depends on the application. Alrighty then: Best ones for a commuter car? Best ones for a weekday commuter/weekend racer? Best ones for an all out drag racer? Best ones for an all out road race/autocrosser? Best ones for a work truck?
  8. closest I'll get to camping is RV'ing or cabin renting; will not touch a tent

  10. And to those people I say: go out back by the woodshed, I'll be there in a second to administer your .44 cranial injection.

  12. It's SO easy for me to get into. SO easy. Even paper is joyfull to hit. We actually went plinking yesterday. Put a few of these Hornady JHP's through the Redhawk; not bad, not bad at all. The lever action Marlin was a different story though, as there isn't really any padding on the stock and it tore my shoulder all to hell. Best part of the day was trying to hit balloons at 50 and 100 yards open sight with the .22LR Marlin semi-auto. .22LR <33333333
  13. affordability is to .338 Lapua as gourmet food is to McDonald's if they had these kinds of analogies on the SAT I might have gotten a much higher score
  14. and fuck you Clinton for having us clean up your messes
  15. I know I almost never say this, but, thank you Congress
  16. Eibach springs were on my Explorer, Bubbie's original Mounty, and my old Merkur. Were awesome for my needs. Oh they make great springs, I was just wondering about these "Pro-Damper" shocks they've started selling. They look like rebranded Koni's to me.
  17. Mark has been doing a bunch of stuff behind the scenes. Ah, I see. Makes sense.
  18. and since we're on the subject of shocks, are monotubes that much better than twin tube? just wondering because most aftermarket "performance shocks" are twin tubes...like Koni's for instance...
  19. apparently Eibach is selling shocks to go along with their springs now? they look like Koni's?
