The ironic thing is, the 4V 5.0 is lighter than either the 2, 3, or 4V 4.6 it replaces. So, it out-displaces, out-powers (NA), and weighs less than it's smaller, less-powerful predecessor. They should be in the 12s with nothing more than a gear swap and some traction. I know it has a forged crank too. The rods are a powder steel, do you know if they are the stronger forged ones or would those have to go out with the heads? (I'm thinking in a down the road boosted aplication, because... why buy a car if you can't boost it someday)

on a totally different note.... I am almost 100% sure my next car will be one of the next gen 5.0 mustangs. The wife likes it, we're putting out a plan to get one in a couple years and maybe replace the expy with a 4 door pick em up round the same time...

I have slowly braised my stew meat after searing and at some point it went all wrong and the meat is dry. WTF! best tasting stew I've ever made for flavor but the meat isn't so amazing damnit.

I'm confounded by that logic. Lets make a different example (same physics). Go outside and fill a sled with wood and try to push the sled, what happen's? Now pull on the same sled, what happens? I think it has NOTHING to do with different muscles, Just the fact that the force is being applied in the most effective place. everything else aside the problem of torque in FWD drivetrains is enough to be problematic enough to be less reliable at high speed/heavy acceleration. It also affects acceleration greatly, when a car moved forward by nature it forces more stability to the rear of the vehicle. Suspension assists in this naturally. In drag racing, almost every sports car, and all work trucks have RWD. Perhaps this would explain things, have you ever driven a high HP/TQ FWD car? It's unpredictable. FWD gets used mostly in light(er) weight lower HP vehicles, which can make FWD feal nimble, but the same vehicle in RWD would most likely outhandle it in every way.

90 min meeting in a room so dry and dusty I could hear my eyelids scraping over my eyes.

A fool and his money.... if people will buy FWD, someone will make and sell it. I'm with you also, I don't ever use AWD in my vehicle to "drive", just make it up hills or through non road places.

Huh? That is an E46, if you look hard you can find one for $10k. $15k would buy you a very nice one. Amusing, FWD is a No-Go for me or my wife. No way, no how. I don't need understeer in the snow. I'll take a well balanced RWD ANY day of the week in inclement weather. Guess I need to look at the badge better. I will take the getting pulled felling anyday over the getting pushed. I own 3 4wd's and still drive my Honda all winter except for the very worst days. I like how I can over/understeer with the throttle and really turn with the e-brake. Polar oposite from what makes sense to me.

That's because no one wants to live there. I've had friends move from Mpls to Dallas and pay cash for houses. I think about how much more home I could have down there all the time. If I would have had some college in buisness I would go down and try to get in with the wifes godmothers hubby who's an exec at a huge company.
