Do you have a carbonater how to? Me and my wife go through a liter a day or so. It sucks going to whole foods all the time.

Welcome to the IHoP
A reasonably well informed guy in glasses. He was kind and acted personable but it was pretty obvious he thought I wasn't going to buy anything. Not concierge service, but admirable as I bet he works with moms who want the most expencive and prettiest with no budget on average. I also hate having to look/ask for a sales person. Didn't ask me to buy, but opened the glass and gave feedback. Seamed to like Shun knives. :meh: He didn't act like he knew I would be getting a deposit in my bank account today worth 6 months of pay. Honestly I haven't been that excited to shop with the wife in a long time. She loves knives and kitchen gadgets, and I was so amped to get my hands on some nice steel. We had fun.

I also found that I dislike the contoured handle like the wusthoff or similar. When done right I would much rather have a D shape or round or octagon style handle. Why? I was suprised. It feels like a weapon when it has a contoured handle. As if I have to fist the knife. Grabing the spine of the knife for real direct work is not as ergonomic then. The Ken Onion knives however have a by far the best ergonomics. I felt I could controll the knife from the handle. Normally then I would feel stuck into one type of grip. The Ken is designed however so you can grab right up to the blade and around the neck comfortably. It's not perfect but it's MUCH better than the other contoured "grip shaped" knife handels. I was completely shocked by this actually. I don't like the look of the round handle. Global also looks good and feels good just holding. However it feels akward cutting. The Japan style (read round or octagon) handle turned me off untill I used it. It looked uncomfortable and stupid. It isn't really great feeling in your hand either if you just fist grab the knife, but the advantage comes from how I could use it. The style is 100% utilitarian. The D shape is nice in case you do need to fist the knife, and it doesn't impede your grip really. I grabbed one (I forgot what the name is) that had a swell in the grip. It helped to fill the palm gap ever so slightly. It was more comfortable and was almost more effective when you choke up on the knife blad giving your palm a bit more surface area. In truth the D shape, slight swelled round grip, or the octagon and round style would work just fine.

Welcome to the IHoP
I may go tomorrow. I doubt I would buy from a local shop as the prices are usually so insanely amazingly outstandingly inflated. The last time I went to KW they had a whole room full of knives. Almost as big as the whole CCH store I was at today. I'll have to see if it's the same now. The trip wasn't a total waste they had a tea steeping spoon (for loose tea at work) on sale. *also not your fault on the recomendation. Their website lists brands they didn't have and the sales guy who answered the phone wasn't honest.... unless when I dialed the ST paul numbr it too me to the edina location. It was worth the trip today to know not to expect much from that location. Having to get into my car from the back seat was worse than anything else.

WASTE OF MY TIME!!!! I called even. "we have tons of variety" fucking bullshit. seriously. I dealt with grand ave low on fuel in my expedition to see ~6 global, ~20 wusthoff, and <10 shun knives. If the guy who answered the phone was there and not a sweet young girl who had nothing to do with it I would have lost it. Then on my way out some &^^&*%&%^&*^&* a hole with an ML350 parked literally in the same spot I was in. I couldn't even open my door. I had to climb in the back seat squeeze in the back seat then climb over the console. All with low blood sugar. lol

Yup. Easier to be confused trying to pidgeon hole every scenario with the same solution. I will have to go to that shop in calhoun square. I think they have the best selection. And I'm starting to get confused and thinking that maybe a transmission line folded horn reflex 14th order resonantchambered flux capacitor might be the right choice for cutting my celery. The Kitchen Window has a pretty decent selection. No MAC, F Dick, Messermeister, only Global's from Japan (others are interesting as well--I exclude Kyocera as Ceramic and chef I don't think you'd want), so basically they carry run of the mill stuff. Still worth a visit for sure. Afterwards (or before) run by the Cooks of Crocus Hill as well. They carry Messermeister and Sabatier. Or at least they did the last time I stopped in there which was now a couple years ago. the problem with having a rather stocked kitchen is that you don't need much. If none of those feel good, it is time to head to Chicago or to find a knife place/kitchen store I don't know about. I'm gonna go to CCH instead. I furgot about them. Then I don't have to fight Smpls hell anyway and I can just catch 35E home.... Or end up at Moscow on the hill and tell the W fraffic is horrible...

did that once with 110 when I was a toddler; less than inch from the heart I'm told (probably explains the shit I do nowadays) I did this with my sweatshirt I can't stand nipple pain. It's debilitating. My nipples are now sensitive just hearing your stories... FOOK.- Welcome to the IHoP
Gull wings are cool to look at but they still wing out. I'm a HUGE guy. I bet your Hyundai had less door too (in width). I had to open it a long way just to clear the outside of the body. 2 feet of motion only made a gap of about 10 inches. To also better illustrate, it was also behind the drivers seat. Great for folks getting into the back. Not so great otherwise.- Welcome to the IHoP

I love the idea of Lambo doors. SO when some D bag parks too close I'm not stuck. I've heard people hate them though. I would have gotten them for the cavalier otherwise. The doors on that thing were ~4 feet and needed to open 10 inches just to clear the frame. - Welcome to the IHoP
