Welcome to the IHoP
this last year really took a toll on my health.... but my wealth is an all time high. The only debt I have is the house we live in, but that's nearly 25% paid based on market price for it. I should also say the wifes student debt is still out there too and growing, but that I'm not so concerned about.

I lol'ed at the USSA comment Sean. Unfortunately it's getting to be more and more true. I was just reading about the overall "value" of the american dollar from 1770 to todays dollaw and you can see the HUGE drop in value. Mainly after the mid 1800's... federal banking involvement anyone.... Weird how that works out. Where are the Howard Roark's?

I lost a pant size yet gained 20 lbs, confirmed that I have arthritis, and that it's very possible my wife produces more testosterone than I do. Super.

nothing sure yet. A friend of mine is a rep for a security software/hardware company, and I have been picking his brain along with looking at home and buisness trends. Ultimately I want something unmanned than notifies me personally, and make it whole house integrated A/V etc. Another friend used to be a director at a one of the big comercial manned security places, and he would get a ton of people he dealt with asking about recomendations for home/private systems. The best security bar none are humans. They cost to much, and you can't trust them. Dogs are #2, but not what everyone wants. I want a 3rd option.... Exactly what I am looking at doing right now. Security system that integrates with Home Automation. For instance, if a zone is breached I'd like to be able to turn on the stereo play back a wave file, turn on the lights, and generally frighten away the person entering. At the same time the system has to be flexible so that while home I can use the automation portion to make my life nicer. That second part is where is gets tough. From what I understand it would end up being one general outer "shell" program, that would basicaly Administrate all the other programs. I'm no coder so my words are probably wrong but that's how I understanding If UI/GUI and automation options are not there, then it's worthless. I could just have 6 different systems running automation, security, climate, audio and video. Right now, I haven't seen anything run well. If my roomie codes up something modular enough though I will be happy. something to run all systems from a touch screen. Then I don't have to teach the wife anything. Just tell her what to touch. HomeSeer, CQC and HAL are all supposed to be able to do all the above. By default many of these require the Elk security systems, but hell I don't care what it is as long as it works reliably. i think yall should just go talk to bill gates his got a lil system in his house He's outdated... I wanna be razors edge brand new yo! I would like to have some form of cctv type system, but run it to the internets too if I want. Check on my shtuff while on the go. Find out which cat keeps chewing on the plants!

I've been working on that too. My roomate is a programmer. We have been working on building a custom software/network, and maybe if he's talented enough market it for sale. It would be insanely modular in program terms to handle all the work I we want to get out of it.

I used to have 72 hours being my normal work week. Quit that job. after I did the math, the hourly rate wasn't all that great. I could have picked up a part time on top of a normal 40 a week, and made the about the same give or take 5-10k, so why bother.

Pretty bad when that happens, and it seems to happen a lot. Glad I don't have a manager anymore I have a micro-manager. Also known as a Lieutenant I wouldn't mind that if they were competiant. I answer to 4-5 managers/supervisors. WTF??? get the memo about the TPS reports? Missed that memo. And as to your WTF? I am in the Active Duty Military. MY wtf was to the shitty people I answer to. I knew you are active. All is well here!
