  1. why would the hifonics barely do 1000 watts?
  2. not enough power... well since this is my first system install, im kinda new at it. i was wondering do i just y split the rcas to two amps and then wire the subs to each amp separately? cus im thinkin about just gettin another hifonics amp and use two amps to power the two ssds
  3. so if i dont have an alternator of 180-200 amps it wont be stable? damn lol im sad
  4. what would i need to do to have a proper electrical backbone?
  5. i got 1200 watt on 1 SSD 12" right now n its eatin up the power like nothing... and i got the flatwind and bp power...
  6. i have heard tho that the sundown 1500 is underrated and is stable at .5 ohms right?
  7. well im tryin to get an amp to power two SSDs n that saz3000 at 2 ohms wont give me enough power... i need 2200-2500 rms watt at either 2ohms or .5 ohms.
  8. $700 for the 1-Channel XXV Thor. that is a lot lol...
  9. what do you recommend?
  10. thanks, i guess your right but i just thought that maybe i could get another ssd n power two with an amp that wouldnt tear a ditch in my pockets. man i cant remember where i came over a massive list of awesome amps and their power ratings
  11. look this guy got 2500 watts to the BL but prolly with the options. my set-up is with 1 SSD 12" and i already got 1200 watts on it. i think the BL can handle more than the SSD can... o and about the amps, i think hifonics are really good.
  12. well the SSD is 800w safe wit no options, i got the options that would should add about 200-500 rms watts. and why are the spl amps garbage?
  13. why shouldnt i worry about the THD? what you mean the ssd dont deserve these amps? i was actually going with a hifonic thor but that cost too much. n my budget is cheap lol. i spent about 1000 on my system already... n adding another SSD sub will cost 250. see right now i got 1200rms watts on the one ssd but i think it can handle more...
  14. check out my sig... hifonics amp cost $200 on ebay
  15. right now, my set-up is what i got in my sig... i was thinking about getting another ssd. i was lookin for reasonable priced amps that could power two ssd 12"s. i was looking at the SPL DK-3400D and the SPL FX1-5500D. It says their THD at Rated RMS Power 0.50%... I read that good amps have <.1% THD... Is .4% difference that much? And I know that the rms wattage is a little different but these two amps are fairly close in price, why is that?
  16. how would i wire the amps together? i know how to wire the subs to get a 2 ohm load only...
  17. wait what? i dont understand what your sayin?
  18. then wat do you recommend i get?
  19. ok i see all these people talkin about how they wire their stuff at .5 ohms. how does that work? i mean like on amps, the ohms are usually 4, 2, n 1. well im askin this because right now i got 1 dvc ssd 12" (bp n flatwound) with a hifonics amp powering 1200rms watts at 1ohm. i was thinking of getting another ssd, so that mean i would get an amp to power 2400rms watts. i looked at some of the wiring configurations on kicker n 12voltz website n it shows that i can only have them at 2 ohms or .5 ohms. at 2 ohms the amp i wanna get is kinda really outta the way money wise because at 1ohm it is a lot more than wat i need. so yea im just wondering how i could achieve the .5 ohm with the set-up of 2 ssds if an amp has 4,2, or 1 ohm rating.
  20. right now i have 1 12" ssd fully powered in a ported box. it is 16X22X14. it sounds good and i listen to almost everything from rap to techno. I was wondering if it would be better to switch to a sealed box? i mean one advantage would be less used space. and which direction should i face the box also...
  21. o ok. i didnt know u were talkin about the box bracing...
  22. yeah, it's not recommended, but if you have to do it, you can If you do it, try and have the amp mounted over a brace, where vibrations should be minimal. whats the brace?
  23. somebody told me that the sub mite vibrate n move components inside of the amp...
  24. i got 1 12" ssd in a ported box and I wanted to screw the amp onto the box, is that gonna cause any problems?
  25. thanks for the clarification
