  1. I think you can get the AQX cheaper than 600. Its funny that people say the AQX3500 has the same board as the RD3250 and that supposedly the RD3250 was upgraded with more stout internals. Look at that huge recall. All the shit talkers cannot even find one AQX that has a problem. I have yet to find someone with the AP30001D that has a problem with it either. Thank god I didn't go RD Audio route.
  2. Umm... He has 2/0. 1/0 can take up to 350 amps of current. He is fine unless he is getting voltage drops.
  3. Check out canadian car audio forums. I bet you can find them used pretty cheap.
  4. Yes, you don't have to get a high output alternator yet. I was fine with daily listening with as much power as you. Get a better battery than that yellowtop. XS power d3100 or Deka 9a31 in the trunk and your good. If you aren't blasting it all the time then you should be fine.
  5. DC Power Alternators, give them a call and tell them phi (pronounced fee) told you to call them. They will hook you up.
  6. x2 on that info. Those are great numbers no matter what though.
  7. The AQX is supposed to be able to get below 1 ohm. While some say that the AP30001D can get below 2 ohms, its a 50% chance your taking. I don't really know much more about the AQX. How much can you get the the crunch 3000 amp for? Because at $310 shipped for the AP30001D, its hard to beat. However, you have to need your power at 2 ohms. Theres plenty of threads about all three of these amps over at CA.com.
  8. That's not that much power for the BTLs.
  9. Its never a bad idea to overkill on grounds.
  10. The box that you will have the sub in. It is the most important part.
  11. More needs to be put the box than the actual amp and subs. That is your breaking point there. They can sound like shit or great or sound loud or not from the box.
  12. Are your screws even tight in the box?
  13. You can fit 4 15s in that trunk?
  14. Dude, you need to get firefox. It has a spell checker. This is getting annoying. Your sentences are horrible and the words you spelled wrong are almost elementary. I usually don't care about slang and internet shortcuts but sometimes it is too much. Please download firefox and install it. But on the subject, I think the HDC3s will get louder but the iXLs will sound better. Chop has heard the 10" iXL I built for my girlfriend. Ask him about it. And Enellz has the HDC3s. I think he heard them too. Also I think the HDC3 want to be in bigger boxes compared to the iXLs. If you are going to get the HDC3s, I'd get them soon because that price is for a limited time, for customer appreciation sale. I think the Mach5 prices are in Canadian dollars so it will be cheaper in US dollars.
  15. I hope you mean that Vietnam makes the best damn TVs or you can go and DU MA MI.
  16. So its 400 dollars to get the BLs instead of the Qs? Man, if I was low on cash, I would go SSDs or Qs. Its more about the box than anything.
  17. AUDIOPIPE AP1500D or AP1800D. The 1500 is rated at 1 ohm and on 14.4 volts and it is 150 shipped brand new. PM me if you want to know where. The 1800 is 190 shipped I think. I know the 1500 and the 3000 do rated so I am going to say the 1800 does rated too because it is in the same line, AP.
  18. So what are you going to go with?
  19. And did you factor in shipping cost? that is where its expensive.
  20. Go to the deadener link in my signature for the best use of your dollars on deadening. The techniques are what will save you on money the most if you plan on deadening. But if you want, you could actually get a Mach5 iXL 15" sub instead of an SSD. The mach5 iXL is $220 shipped but I think that is Canadian dollars so it may be right under $200 dollars shipped for US dollars. Also, you can get an Audiopipe Ap1500d amp to wire that sub to 1 ohms for 1500 watts. I got that amp two months ago for 150 shipped off ebay. If you want, I can give you the link to the best seller I found for these amps. I actually built a system for my girlfriend's mustang with a 10" iXL and an audiopipe ap1500d. It gets loud and it sounds awesome on music. So amp and subs come out to approx. $350 shipped. Wiring kit can be had locally or online at many different places. Knukoncepts has a 4 gauge wiring kit that would be find for your son's set-up now. I think you should get him the 4 gauge instead of 0 gauge which will be different from what some people may advise because then if your son wants to upgrade, let him get into the system and learn about the hobby to install newer wires or subs and whatnot. Thats just my take. I think he will really appreciate the hobby a lot more later when he goes through doing it as well.
  21. DO you know how long this sale is going on for?
  22. I am tuned in for this... Hope you get it figured out.
