http://www.orioncaraudio.com/Promos/HCCA_C...ge_Results.aspx Here's some of their reviews this v that. But IMO, its slanted towards orion of course....they are forcing 6000+ watts on woofers that cant handle it. Just cuz the Orion can, does not mean that it is a better sub.

Well...he didnt really say HOW MUCH money was too much or how much he was pressed.....you can obviously find prices for both subs....so you know which one you can afford. Personally the 18" btl is by far a better sub. The 15" orion HCCA IMO is not a good comparisson between the BTL. Not too many people have used the new hcca. But I would imagine it to be nice...but not nearly as nice as the BTL. So far on Orion's subwoofer challenge, they have not battled against anything from RE or FI.....why not? People have asked....but they havent done it yet....I wonder why?

Grats! glad you got your email in there!
  13. I would say that the BL is more louder than the Q and is decent in SQ. Not tomention BL's are on sale till the end of the month...31st.
  14. 1 18" btl has the same cone area as 1.5 15" btls. i would say your at a HUGE disadvantage in cone area, so i dont see a single 18" btl pulling off a hair trick or getting as loud. i would stick with the q's Hmm...hair trick w/ one 18, yah havent heard it done....but w/ the right specs? possibly...anyway: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7153

    when did you order?

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7153 basically: Daily or SPL: Simply put, if you plan on listening to any type of music you MUST choose the daily option. If it is strictly for a fart/burp scenario then choose the SPL option. The reason we have these options is the gap tolerances between the two are different. The gap in the SPL woofer is much tighter and FAR less forgiving in comparison to the Daily option. The Daily option simply gives the coil more wiggle room inside of the gap to deal with the non-linearity tendancys that you can get into when you are using a sub in a daily driving scenario. Typically SPL applications deal with 1 note and it does not change, therefore we can make the gap much tighter and get all of the motor strength that we can out of it.

As far as playing music goes, you can...however if i remember correctly the tinsels are shorter, and the cone is more stiffer. And is more buit towards a small range of notes. If notes play outside of the range, it could cause damage I am guessing. There's a link about why you should/shouldnt get one or the other...i'll try to find it.
  19. looks like their recones arent that expensive...I am not sure on your model. But if you can do the work....it beats shipping the sub around.
  20. hehe....coo! thats some crazy trades man!
