build or buy subwoofer enclosure
As the title states I'm going to replace my whole setup I need help with choosing what to do the new setup will consist of 2 Ssa icon 12's a dc audio 2k and I do not know what size I should have the enclosure at for the subs and only thing that will make it a bit hard for me would be the tuning. I was think tuning to 30hz but that might be stupid to tune it that low for those subs. Thank you for all that help and I don't mind reading links to help me out

im running two different subs one is a polk audio dxi 1240dvc and a alpine type r i don't recall the model number since i switched the old kenwood sub for the alpine from my friend. all i remember from the alpine is 400rms and 1200 or 1500peak power and the polk audio is 360rms with 720 peak and both wired to 2 ohms and together would be 4 ohms. and the amp putts out 800 at 4 ohms and 1200 at 2 ohms. this is my first time with car audio i do understand that mixing two different brands of subs is a no no. for the time being i will have to run with what i have infront of me but i do plan to upgrade to maybe a gcon or xcon have not decided yet.

i have a mono channel amp so when i look at the wattage i use do i look for what my amp can handle at the ohm load, or should i look for the wattage that the both of the subs can handle

Is it possible for an amp to have a bad RCA ground
-
Light dimming
So yeah when I get off work in 10 and a half hours I will find out more and work on it some more if anyone could link me to a good article or video to help me find Tue location or rough area to where the problem is would be much appreciated
-
Light dimming
Sound now I'm also battling a bad ground in the head unit since I noticed when I do a slight turn on the RCA it has a loud pop but I ground the RCA well I ground the RCA to the headunit screws on the top of it so Ido what else on or around it would be causing the bad ground that bad ground is giving me a faint noise feedback through the subs my friend had pioneer headunit and never had that problem so I might of been unlucky and got a lemon. I went online a few months ago and found out that pioneer is infamous for the ground loop problem. So I'm in a bad state to figure out where exactly the problem is and if I find it then I thought that would fix the light dimming a bit

@1two3 would you like to share some articles that i could read or videos i can listen to do so. @muddybass it's the stock toyota battery @mlcatin so i found out i need to find a company that takes your stock alt and improves the output within the stock housing @pmureika i have the input sensitivity set to half way and LSF which i don't remember on the top of my head is set to about 100 to 150 isf i left that alone have not read into that yet. but i think i should raise the input sensitivity higher so i would have to use bass boost.
-
Light dimming
i forgot to mention i guess i have a bassboost nob and it only happens when i set the volume to 30/62 and bass boost knob at half way up and the freq at the lowest which is all the way to the left.

Light dimming
I will have to buy a DMM since I currently do not have one. I check on theis one website that I was showed to check how much voltage drop and when the bass hit it would drop to about 12.9 from 13.8 when I had my cap in

Light dimming
I checked the connects they were good the light dimming happens both at idle and driving. Wouldn't the battery be charging when the car is running that would be thepurpose to recharge the battery. The battery is about a few years old so it is time to re place it.

Light dimming
wow might be spending only 170 sweet

Light dimming
Nvm its inphase either parallel or series okay well the biggest AGM battery I checked from advance auto parts is 720cca but I hear that a good battery for car audio should have information on amp hours. The max I want to spend is $300 so what is a good company to go with that has a good warrenty.

polka audio dxi 1240dvc
oh okay thank you
-
polka audio dxi 1240dvc
so i notice my sub can handle 720 @ 4 ohms but it is wired as 2 ohms so will it be able to handle more the 720 or will 720 still be the peak no matter what ohm you wire it at
-
possible upgrade
budget is unknown at the moment and box dimension is unknown as well since im thinking about purchasing a newish car so it will all depend on the trunk size but so far im looking at a 2004 infinity g35. main thing im looking for aesthetics but can handle 5k rms or peak
