Ok what grill should I use for a 10" Bl? I would really like some type of mesh grill like the older Jl Audio grills, anyone know where I can look to find one? Thanks all! David

Hey guys do you have a single X series 10" laying around somewhere? I am planning a build and would love to have one. Dual 2 would be the best but I would not complain an ounce if you could dig up a dual 4. Just checking If not I guess I will wait and do it with a single Q when the time comes.

Nick, would you happen to have a single 10 X or a pair? I am planning an install in a Mini Cooper in the future and would love to run a pair or a single in the small space I will have to work with. My other option will be a single Q 10". Yes, get your Celica going!!

WOOT! I think my X series are finally broken in and I have them tuned just right, I am now capable of 135+ db in IB with 300 "rated watts" off of my Fosgate Power 1000 at 4 ohms. I don't have a Term Lab available but I think I am doing pretty darn good on my little handheld SPL meter! Thanks Fi!

with the seat out this is what you see. This is all you see from the rear. The sound quality is unbelievable! So much more blended than the 12o's I think that with the lower power driving them is a cool thing too!

Well I did it! the pair of X's are running off of my power 1000 at a rated 150w each. So far they sound great but tomorrow will be the test when I am outside the residential area!

Yeah, You really can't go wrong with the 25 to life stuff! I pulled my ED Nine.4 and Nine.1 and replaced them with the power 1000 and even at 2ohms (rated at 600w rms) the power 1000 outdoes the Nine.1 in output hands down. What other 500w rated 5 channel REQUIRES 1/0 gage and has a 250a internal fuse?

Ok I got my X's in and will be installing them within the next couple of days. I will be ruinning them off of the sub channel of a 25 to Life Power 1000 rated for 300w Rms at 4ohm and 800w Rms at 1ohm. Right now I have a pair of ED 12o.14's running at 2 ohm (rating of the amp is 600w Rms at 2 ohm) With the ED's the subs seem to be a little over powering and I was wondering how they will do with the 300w for the pair. I know that most of you will say "try it and find out" but I want to know if anyone else has already tried it. Thanks all! David

450 watts IB is not needed for these since the rms power handling is rated 300 watts rms in an enclosure But they should work in IB right? similar characteristics of the Q just less power needed. I will be running them off of a 25 to life Power 1000 also! I will just set the gains around 600w and I should be fine. (that is the rated power on the power 1000 anyways.) I am not looking for blow your mind SPL but a simple daily driver SQ oriented install, I think these fit the bill.

Will these work in IB configurations? (about 900w for the pair)?

I seem to be doing ok, I apparently had a TIA (mini Stroke kinda thing) Has been a really scarry time for me.. I am only 36.. I have another appointment in Jan with the University of Heidelberg Medical facility (head Clinic) to see if they can find anything the American Dr's couldn't. Here is a message I sent to someone about it. "Transient Ischemic Attack" (Basically a mini stroke) It happened on Monday but I was too stubborn to go to the ER till the following day. CT, blood pressure taken about 40x times and they wanted to do a spinal tap... That is when I said no way Jose'! The tests all came back saying it passed by.. I got lucky, but still, apparently I will have a 1/3 higher chance of having a stroke in the future. Signs were 1. I could no longer read (comprehend simple words like "the") 2. My eyesight started to blur on the right side 3. crazy headache 4. The right side of my face started to go numb 5. had problems talking (simple conversation) 6. My right hand started going numb Truly one of the scariest moments of my life! If any of you have any of these signs get to the ER ASAP! David

Ok I just got my order of Knu 0/1 gauge wire in for my Power 1000 install. To make things easier I ordered 0/1 eyelets from Waytekwire.com. When I went to put the 1st eyelet on I could barley get it on the wire! I had seen this in the past with Knu 4 Gauge but this time I had to tap the lug onto the wire with a hammer (Not to crimp it but to get it on the wire it was so tight). I really don't think I will ever have a problem with my crimps seporating from not enough bite! Way to go Knu! If anyone is having second thoughts about ordering from them, order it, you can't go wrong! The wire is awesome!

Sorry all, I made my first post in Fi and not here. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a US civilian living in Germany working for Uncle Sam here. I am an audio addict and proud of it. I am an avid collector of Old School Rockford Fosgate (Series between 82-90) and a mod on the Vintage forum on Rockfordfosgate.com. I presently have (If I remember correctly) 1 Punch 40 from 82, Matching Punch 100 (slider EQ's not knobs) 2 Punch 150 (wrap around heatsinks) 2 Punch 150 (Pre hd) 2 Punch 75 (Pre hd) 1 Punch 30hd 1 Punch 45hd 1 Punch 75hd 1 Punch 150hd 1 Power 100hd 1 Power 300 1 Power 360 (1 of 3 know to exist still including the one at the Fosgate private collection) I have a few processors and such from that time period also. I have just picked up the entire set of 25 to life amps also (45, 75, 150 and the power 1000) My present ride is a 93 Celica coupe and I am presently running 2 ED 12ov.14's IB powered off of a ED Nine.1 as well as a Nine.4 for the interior. (soon to change) In the wifes car I have Tsunami db1100 powering a Kicker s12c (solobaric) and a Tsunami db4440 on the intereior. (yup she likes it loud too.) Both cars are wired with Knu Koncepts. Would I be underpowering them with under 1k watts fort the pair?

Hello all! New to the forum and Really interesed in FI. Presently I am running a Pair of ED 12o.14's IB on a Nine.1 in my Celica but will be changing the amp to a Fosgate Power 1000 and would like to figure out what the optimum setup would be. I was thinking about either 1 Dual 2 Q 12" or a pair of Q 10"s . (the Power 1000 runs optimum at 1 ohm)so I am pretty sure the ED's will be comming out. What are your opinions on this? I am going with NDMstang65's reccomendation on the Q series but which set up? It will be IB reguardless. David
