  1. Yeah, also, idk what ohm load that amp is at... I know a lot of HT amps are 8 ohm but i guess ill just run it at 4 ohms and if i blow the amp its about 10 years old so its no a huge loss and it will give me an excuse to overhaul the sub situation in my room... But its gonna be on hold for a little cause car stereo comes first over room one but this damn $140 texting bill kinda hit me where it hurts.... You know, in the wallet? lol
  2. so any recomendations based off of this?
  3. Could it be possible you wired your voice coils to work against eachother? IDK what that would do tho, it might just mess it up instantly...
  4. Doubt those tweeters will handle anywhere near 400RMS for $50... You get what you pay for... Maybe it is rated by the pair but i still wouldn't push 200rms to just the tweeter... Guess you can try it tho....
  5. What kind of speakers are you running?
  6. I don't know the model of amp and couldn't find any specs on KLH's website (thats the brand of sub and amp combo) cause they are re-doing their site... I think it might be 100rms though cause i saw a newer model on amazon with 125rms but it could be a little over-rated..
  7. Well, i have a sub in my room that gets listened too occasionally... Im not looking for anything with incredible output (only have a 100watt amp) and it doesn't have to sound the greatest either... The only time i listen to it is in the morning getting ready and its not at really high volumes cause there are other people in the house but sometimes when no one is here i turn it up pretty loud... The box it is going in is somewhere between 2.3-2.5 cf cause im not sure if the whole thing is made of 3/4" material or just the front part with the sub... It is going to be ported as well... Right now the dumb manufacturers made the port 4" across and only 5" long... Not sure what that is ported to but im sure its pretty high... I will be making a new port for the box with pvc pipe... The amp says 100 watts but its probably a little over-rated and im not sure if thats peak or rms... Post any sub that will work in this setup whether it be a SQ or SPL(doubt you will get much spl) and i will just decide between them.... Any help is appreciated... Oh, and its a 12" sub... I guess i could do a 15 but don't think it would have enough power...
  8. Yeah, your box is tiny...
  9. So does anyone know of a company that could recone one?
  10. These are actually really good subs and can handle and excess of 1000rms with a flat coil and bp power.... YOU blew it... And what you heard about hifonics was wrong.... They aren't horrible but they aren't the best and they do over-rate their stuff a little... Set the gains properly, find a topic on how to do that...
  11. JL Sent me an email saying they no longer offer services on that sub... So it would have to be a company other than JL...
  12. So no-one uses a 2.5" Voice Coil?
  13. Does anyone make a recone that would work for a JL 15w6? It has a 2.5" VC on it... Here is a link to it... http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=2730 I guess i could recone it myself but im not sure if anyone makes anything that would work for it and idk if JL can do it because it isn't made anymore... Any help would be appreciated....
  14. I think you could fit the 2 12" subs... Ive seen people with 12" subs in NBS trucks... Not sure about crew cabs but it almost seems like they would have more room than extended cab...
  15. I'll take it for 10 bucks and ill pay shipping.... If your serious...
  16. How do you purchase from the manufacturers?
  17. Whoever has what you want for the cheapest/ ebay/ amazon/ pricegrabber... Unless you don't care about money...
  18. Jpm4536 replied to Jpm4536's topic in ZED Audio
Yeah, i saw that crutchfield used to sell this same model for like $80 and it looked almost identical but had a light... I was hoping it was a crappier version or something.... So the zed built ones are better i am assuming?

if you are willing to part with most of that space in the durango then the 18 will get louder but the 15 will need a smaller box if you are interested in cargo room.... And please don't say you are going to put these in a pre-fab box... And btw, an 18" btl thats installed properly will probably completely drown out your front stage.... I don't think there are many sets of speakers that would keep up with that...
  20. You don't need 1200 watts to each sub... Unless you have flatwind and bp power, that wouldn't be a good idea...

Just go with the bl probably for daily use...
  22. also, this will be in down-firing, 2" between the sub and the floor is enough right?
  23. I think i might have found a way to get 1 cf out of it before displacement... How would that do with some poly fill? Maybe about 1/2 pound? Im sure that would be a lot better than the .7 i mentioned and it will be a more simple design...

You do realize that a SAZ-1500 @ .5 ohm w/ the electrical we're putting to it will put out in excess of 2000w correct? I was refering to his amp with 1500-1600 to share between the two, not the one you mentioned... Sorry for the confusion...
  25. You say your budget is cheap but how much is cheap? If that hifonics was too much, you probably won't find anything.... Look into used or refurbished amps...
