I am about to buy an amp for my pioneer premier ts-c720prs speakers and am looking at the USX 2080 amp that puts out 80 watts rms x 2 @ 4 ohms... It is only $49.50 plus shipping, but they are repaired amps... Does anyone have experience with this amp and if so how good are they? Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/US-Acoustics-USX-2080-...ksid=p1638.m118
  2. The alpine does display multiple lines of display, you must have been looking at a 9883 or lower model because they have the cheaper display and i think they only display 1 line at a time when scrolling through songs... My 9885 shows like 3 artists at a time i think...
  3. Apples and oranges... The CVX is meant to get loud but the Q is Fi's SQ lineup... Maybe look at 2 SSD's or Bl's... They MIGHT get louder than the CVX's but im not 100% sure....
  4. You made an enclosure out of pvc pipe? Im pretty sure pvc pipe isn't the best thing to use and you could probbly gain a lot by making an MDF enclosure... Does the pipe not roll around?
  5. Are these better than Alpine type-X components? I like the premiere prs-c720 set but they are a little pricey... I haven't heard a single bad thing about them though...
  6. Can anyone recommend some 6.5" components for $200? I need to hurry up and order some before Christmas... The doors are not deadened but the MIGHT be some distant time down the road... I will also get an amp to properly power them... Also, would like to stay away from metal tweets... Will be getting subs in the future... EDIT: When did the shop start selling Diamond Audio? I thought there were no authorized internet dealers? Or did they just get their hands on some so they started selling them? I have been looking at the D661s component set by diamond...
  7. If your gonna throw it in the trash i can give you my address and do it for you...
  8. Scott, is there any way to only buy one of the 12"?

$30 wont break the budget but I think my dad just did... Looks like im just getting some new front speakers instead... He says that if its too good to be true it probably is and there is not arguing with him... He seems to think its a waste of money to buy subs... "Why can't you just spend $100 on an amp and another $100 on a sub?" Lol, I need new front speakers anyways so I guess it isn't that bad cause he is willing to spend about $200 on them... EDIT: Also, how much output would 1 12" Fi X have? If I could run one of them then I really could spend $200 on the subs and amp cause the kicker 400.1 is like $110 shipped... Is there any other subs that would be about $100 that would have decent output and be less than 6" mounting depth?
  10. Probably for the best... I know a chick who has a 12 in that little hole in the back of her camaro and there is not much room on the edge of the woofer so i dont think it would have been easy to make a box for a 15... And the work to do it would probably not be worth it since they would still be in too small of a box...
  11. So I guess Q is quality but what about btl? Is it built to last like some others said?

If I only have to spend $33 to get 100rms more on each one, do you think it would make a difference? On ebay I can get 2 kicker kx300.1 for like $190 shipped and 2 kx400.1 for like $220 shipped... Would there be an audible difference?

I have a few questions about the Fi X series subs... I am going to buy 2 of the 12" and would like to know a few things before I purchase... The number one thing is... How much power is too much? I know Scott said not to expect super power handling but I mean is 400 RMS fine? How about 500 RMS? I know with most subs 200 rms over is no problem but that is 2/3 again the RMS rating on these so I was just wondering... Also, would you classify these as more spl or sq? I know it is probably not extremely high spl or sq but for the price you cant beat it... Im gonna be putting these in a 1cf per sub box with polyfil in it and pushed by either 300 or 400 RMS a piece... What kind of output can I expect? I might think of a few more questions but this is all for now... I guess if anyone else has some questions about these just post them in here cause the thread about their clearance has like 4 pages now.... Also, how many of the 12" are left?
  14. Go for the 2 12"... They will make for an easier install and will actually have proper enclosure... If I remember correctly, Camaro's don't have room for a box the right size for a 15 to mount on them unless you have them tilted forewards like in those pics which would be a lot harder to make a box for than just 2 12" facing up....
