Welcome to the IHoP
they're making fun of my daily vocabulary, it's like a scene from idiocracy I still need to see that... tom, i suspect that movie is right up your alley. go rent it! Oh man that movie is so dumb. If people thought "Dude where's my car" was dumb, they haven't seen anything yet. isn't that the point of the movie? i didn't think it was at all similar to dude where's my car... I suppose it is. I guess I just don't like dumb/silly movies like that. I was just comparing to dude where's my car because almost everyone I talked to about it said it was the dumbest movie they had seen. I was just relating the dumb factor, not plots.

Dose anyone know anything about the new ROCKFORD FOSGATE T2500-1 bd

Well Rockford has always made at least decent amps (sometimes great) so I'm sure this one is good as well. The price is a bit steep considering you can get a Sundown 3500d for 850, but not too terrible. At least the one price I saw for 1200. Rockford amps have usually been priced a bit above. You pay a little more for the name and organizational practices.

Yeah I'd say definitely not true. Nobody would endanger civilians by giving them guns and sailing past the Somali coast.

Welcome to the IHoP
Speaking of hot chicks, I read an article that said Miss California gets to keep her crown. Good. I don't know what the douchebag pereze hilton was thinking, he's obviously retarded. But he asked her about her thoughts on legalizing gay marriage in California and he gets mad when she says no? Apparently there is only one correct answer to that opinion question? He scolded her for "the pageant was the wrong place for lobbying political and religious beliefs." But um......you asked her about gay marriage, so that's your fault, moron. Saying it should be legalized is still lobbying a political and religious belief. Why is he famous?

Why do you all love 10" subs ?
There is NO best. Intelligent hobbyists understand this. Your the "dumb" one I described above. Tight bass has NOTHING to do with sub size. So you are saying that you can get the same tight bass out of a 15 that you can out of a 10 I think not.. I know that the box has a lot to do with it..... But if you don't know how to build a box you wont get tight bass.. Dumb ass. Lets see you get tight bass out of anything else. and in tell you can prove it keep your friggin mouth shut. If you want to go out of your way to be ignorant I'll play. I can be VARY ignorant. want to see The only ignorance here has been exhibited by yourself. In fact, you're bordering on stupidity. Do you know what???? I think that this is a pretty shabby display for most of the Mod's on this on this thread. If you are a Mod you should be leading by example. There should be no Name Calling making fun of or anything to this degree. This all started because M5 (a Mod here) was calling people "STUPID". And other Mod's followed suit. If you ask me Mods should be held at a higher ACCOUNTABLITY then the rest of the people on the Forum. And I don't think that it should be accepted or tolerated. The problem is your blanket statements. You say that the JBL GTI subs are the "tightest most controlled sub on the market," but have you tested every sub on the market? I'm glad you like them, but that's hard to quantify. How does the GTI 15" sound compared to the GTI 10"? You say 10s are tighter than 15s, period. But I guarantee you that there are some foul sounding 10s out there, regardless of the box they're in. You also aren't taking into consideration that some subwoofer manufacturers don't just slap a bigger cone on the same motor. Some of them engineer every size in the line so that they give similar performance. For instance, it appears JBL does this. Somebody earlier was talking about BL staying the same on larger drivers but the increased moving mass would make them slower, but the 10" GTI has a bl of 12.12 but the 15" has 15.39.

If you don't know how to build a box you won't get tight bass out of a 10" either. Ever been to a club with a concert playing? If they have dedicated subwoofers and not just 2-way monitors, a lot of the time the tight bass you feel is from 18" drivers. And I'll put in that my ported 15" SI Mag v.2 is one of the most accurate subs I've heard.

Looking At BL 12", Please Help :)
Bridging the amplifier does not lower the impedance. If you want a 2 ohm load at the amp, get a dual 1 sub and wire the coils in series and then bridge the amp. To think of it another way, it's the same as wiring one voice coil to each channel, which would give each channel a 1 ohm load.

That seems like a good idea. Although part of me wants to invest in small cap because those have historically been the companies that bounce back the most after these setbacks. But the odds are higher because you can't be sure that the company will withstand the downturn, though.

Welcome to the IHoP
I have a moral dilemma in investing in oil, though, since speculation that the price would go up and heavy investing in such is what caused last summer's bubble, and I don't want to be a part of that happening again. I would invest in companies that profit from the oil price being higher, though, since it's not their "fault" that the price is high.

Welcome to the IHoP
That's what I've been trying to figure out as well. Trying to decide when the market will go back down and if I should wait until then to invest more. Or if I should take some profits from what I have gained. I'm just past the 90 days capital gains tax increase. But I also promised myself that I'd leave it in there long-term. I know the companies I've invested in are solid. Must resist the urge. I don't want to become a short-term trader. I don't like day traders and the like, too much market manipulation with that IMO. I just want to get out when the price is highest, so maybe I could invest the money in something else that's just starting its upswing or something. But that kind of timing is pretty impossible.

Hmm, stick more money in stocks and mutual funds now? Even though the markets have risen a lot in the last month, they're still barely over half what the peak was last summer (though I discount some of that peak because it was an inflated bubble. When I check for undervalued stocks, I look at 2006, early 2007 prices). All I ever hear is people scared of stocks right now, but why? The stock market isn't going to stay here forever. Just look at all of the previous recessions. I don't really have anything to pay for for at least another 10 months.

Amp to big for IXL 10.2.2?
You can always limit the power that the amplifier puts out.
-
Welcome to the IHoP
You may be losing some output because of the risers. And more voltage!

My Noob Question Thread
2500 watts will be plenty for the sub. A 225 amp alternator will be fine, too. You'll also want an extra battery.
-
Few questions before LI purchase
I would go with 12s, and 2 ohms on that amp will be fine. You can always limit the power of the amplifier using the gain knob. You could put a 1000 watt amplifier on a 100 watt sub and it will play fine for days straight with the right person on the volume knob.
