Unless they're smart thieves, then they know how to disable it from the sign. It happened to my aunt's neighbor. They had some alarm that was wired through their power or cable box outside or something, and it was the only type of alarm that did that (so she told me, I don't know about home alarms).

Could just get an LED and hook it up to your car's battery. They draw next to no power so there's no risk in draining your battery. My old car had one, I assumed leftover from an alarm in the car before I bought it. It was on all the time and I never bothered with it. But that car got broken into anyway so it didn't do much good, at least that day. Obviously wouldn't know if it deterred at any other time.
  3. Does the amp turn on or go into protect? Did you remove the fuse under the hood before you disconnected the wires? If not and the power wire touched the amp at all, poof goes the amp.

Notice the word like in there, suggesting "such as." He did not intend for it to be an all-inclusive list.
  5. Why did you create basically the same topic in the newbie sign in forum after this one? Merged.

Smoked a pork picnic cut yesterday. I had never done it before but heard that pork is a pretty forgiving meat so I figured I couldn't screw it up too bad. Injected it with my own concoction beforehand, smoked it for about 6 hours or a little more, then in the oven for another 3 or so. It turned out pretty well. Not the most flavorful besides the smoke, but I didn't use any rub on the outside and my injecting liquid wasn't real potent. But oh man is it juicy and tender. Two friends and I worked on it pretty hard last night and I think there's still four pounds left. I also smoked two quail and a pheasant. I really had no idea how long to keep them on, especially with the smoker temperature fluctuations I was experiencing, so they turned out a little dry.

Yeah they are quite surprising to me too. But they have beaten two number 1's, three if they win the championship. That would have to be a record (obviously it's the most possible) and quite impressive.

    I like those wooden steps
  9. Download winISD, or else use the port calculator on this site. 30 square inches 27.5" long will work.
  10. Holy fuzzy pictures batman. Try to hold still next time.
  11. What amp do you have, how is it wired, and what are the settings on?
  12. KU40 replied to patdeezy33's topic in General Fi
That depends entirely on what amp you're going to run it with. BTW, I merged your topics. The one in the newbie sign in wasn't really a hello thread anyways.
  13. That obviously depends on the depth of your box.
  14. You could make each port 125 sq. inches and 19" long. That'll give you about 23 cubes after displacement tuned to 32 hz. I think ideally you'd want more room, but that may work.

You can buy an amp with higher RMS wattage rating. You can always limit the amount of power an amplifier puts out. 2,000 watts is a thermal rating, the box you put it in will affect the mechanical power handling. What is your budget for an amp?

Go free air. Then you won't have to worry about the box at all! oh wait, april fool's is over. Do the fiberglassing if you think you can and it'll help.
  17. make a cardboard mockup of your planned box and see if it fits.
  18. KU40 replied to wof131s's topic in Fi Technical
I don't think your box is big enough for ported that low unless you can find some 6" aeroports that can be 24" long so that you can use two of them.

power assisted flush ftw! One day I went into the handicap stall at work and there was crap all over the walls and floor around the toilet. I was like how in the world did that happen? Did somebody have explosive diarrhea and couldn't sit still on the thing? Then today I was in there using it and when I stood up and flushed it was like a pipe bomb went off in there. That thing seriously must flush at about 120 mph for 5 seconds. I was like oooohhhhh. I'm sure that person got it all over themselves when it flushed. Not to mention that any handicapped person wouldn't want to use it because they wouldn't be able to get up very far fast enough before it flushes. I almost leap off and across the stall to get away from it just in case.

I was at work in Topeka all day, and there it snowed for about 30 minutes. Big snowflakes but not heavily coming down. None stuck. You guys? All I know is that I'm tired of this crap.
  21. I say port the Arsenals to 16 hz.
  22. KU40 replied to blimblam's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I doubt they'd handle 1200-1400 actual watts for very long. But you can put a 1400 watt amp on them with no problems.
  23. KU40 replied to wof131s's topic in Fi Technical
    That was my question too.
