Welcome to the IHoP
Yeah government jobs are generally more stable. But they may be difficult to find at this time. I'm not sure if states out east are having similar budget problems as Kansas is (I imagine so, though), but because Kansas is currently in over $200 million in debt and unlike the Federal government states can't end the year in the red (year ends at the end of June), it has began a layoff plan. We have also been in a hiring freeze for about 3 months, and I doubt it will end before June. I was lucky to get my job just a couple of months before the freeze began, and one girl I work with got on like one week before. But if you can find a federal job you may be ok. I was gov't for a few years. My father in law is a contractor and I am going to cross my fingers in hopes I am able to get an interview with them. I read an article posted outside somebody's cubicle today that said state employees may not get paid this pay period if the state can't find funds to put into the account by the end of the week. One attempt at shifting funds by the governor was shut down by the state congress.

This whole thread answered your question already

Those are two different failings you mentioned, one mechanical and one thermal. Are you sure the voice coil is actually fried? They rarely go hand-in-hand.

2x Q15" Can they handle the power???
There's a chance they may survive on a burp (however small), but there's no way on a bass race. You'd want the BTL's, anyway, they're more sensitive and can handle the power.

I hope Meade got his posted, here's mine
It's not totally pointless to meter it, you could always use it to compare to the new amp and coils you're going to get.

Welcome to the IHoP
Last night sucked for sleep. I was feeling stressed about my job and going to work today and I kept thinking about all of the things I needed to do and have go right. But I don't know if it was completely that or if my nap yesterday from like 330-5 hurt my need for sleep last night too. But I tossed and turned for an hour before falling asleep, then woke up a couple times, once at 4:00 for about another hour. I contemplated just going in to work early. But luckily I was able to calm myself down and try to think about other things, and fell back asleep.

Welcome to the IHoP
I always hate when I watch movies and people hide behind skimpy things that somehow stop bullets. Like they upturn a table, hide behind a little wall or a car door, etc. I'm always like man this isn't realistic.

I LOVE my highs......
Why? There is a reason our ears angle forward and we have elastic cartilage that also angles forward. We are designed to hear sounds from in front of us more than in the rear, you can thank evolution for that. I don't think the evolution of my ears changes the way I enjoy listening to music in my vehicle. I didn't choose to evolve my own ears to listen that way.

time to lose weight.
You just have to stick with it. I think I heard where the healthy rate to lose weight is only like a pound or two a week or something like that. Keep that long term goal in mind.

Just for duran!!!
AIM is not lame. Better than MSN, IMO, because you don't get stupid random "add me" wants from sex or singles sites or whatever. Lame would be if you still had ICQ.

Welcome to the IHoP
Well the two places I had in mind to go for supper yesterday don't take reservations, and when we called both places had an hour wait. So we just went to the store and got chicken, pasta, salad, garlic bread, and brownies, and cooked it up ourselves. It was good. Plus we had the dozen roses I had gotten her as a centerpiece (although they were only in a pitcher because I don't have a vase, haha). Then we went to the stoplight party. Green attire= single, yellow= ? red= taken. It was kinda dumb though. When we got there about 5 people were dancing in a circle in the living room to ABBA. Lots of.......different.... people there. Only stayed about an hour before heading to the hotel

Question about friends system
Depending on what vehicle he has, running coaxials on 1/5 the power in the rear won't do anything because you can't hear them unless you fade to the rear quite a bit, which blows the reasoning for putting such good speakers up front. It was easier in my car where the back speakers were on the rear deck, but in my Explorer with the back speakers facing the middle in the back door.....much harder to hear.

I LOVE my highs......
There are a few of us crazies who don't want concert sound in our cars. I enjoy feeling "enveloped" by the music and having it all around me, and I still want this feeling when I turn my head to look for other cars or whatnot.

BL difference between Levels 3 & 4
Bl isn't just magnetic strength, and weight of magnets has little to do with it. There are many more motor design factors that come into play. Motor topology, gap size, height of motor and top plate, where the coil rests in relation to motor parts......... Many subs can get away with much less magnet, but don't often because of the wow factor. Take a look at the new FI BTL, for instance.
