  1. Let's all try and remain constructive and not bag on Randy thinking he can't do it.

    weekends always go too fast.
  3. dynamat doesn't automatically increase your loudness by 3 db. As dbjunior said, it can hurt scores. When dynamat marketing says you'll gain 3 db, it leaves out the important part, which is that it only makes your stereo SEEM 3 db's louder because it cuts the ambient noise down. So if the ambient noise (road noise, rattles, etc.) are 80 db as you are driving and your stereo is 130 db, you have a 50 db separation between the two. But if the dynamat lowers the ambient noise down to 77 db (3 db down), your stereo will likely stay at 130 db but you'll still have a difference of 53 db. This isn't to say it CAN'T help your score. Just that you can't automatically assume an increase, and a decrease is possible. Also, you cannot just add several dbs for having extra power and better subs. Loudness is not linear like that. Getting up to 156-158 db is actually pretty hard to do. But good luck. Where are you going to fit three alternators on that engine?
  4. A clipped signal won't inherently damage your subs. As long as the sub is getting the same power as an unclipped signal, it doesn't matter. So the only difference is that maybe you only need to turn the head unit volume to 28 instead of 30 to get full volume. But there's also the degraded sound quality. But that doesn't hurt subs either, it just sounds worse.
  5. yeah you can twist the two wires together and use them for one lead, then twist another length to use for the other lead. I've done it before. It's just wire, it doesn't care how it's used or know the difference between whether it is + or -.
  6. No excuses.

As opposed to......unstraight amps? Homosexual amps? crooked amps?

2,000 watts is definitely enough for two Qs.

I'm hoping my gf's dad gives her a bunch of firewood to bring back to me today. They had a neighbor's tree fall over their fence and I think he still has it just sitting back there. I hope so. I love fires, but not enough to pay $150 a cord from people around here. I know that's a lot of wood, but that's a lot of money, too. If nothing else I'll just go ditch diving around here to get some. It's free if it's in the ditch, and I kinda enjoy gathering.

What is with the HOP being on the second page of the new posts? Unacceptable! Snowed a touch last night, basically enough to cover the ground.

oh, good. Thanks for sparing us. Just kidding. Definitely feel free to vent here if you need to. There will be people to listen.
  12. BM works in as small as .5 cubes. OR.......you could mount an MDF mounting baffle onto the front and cut the size down to fit a 10" sub and pretty much pick any on the market.....
  13. Apparently you should invite your friend to join the forum.

six 6x9's? and there were still other speakers in there? What in the world......
  15. Maybe see if you can find a used Stereo Integrity BM. The new version is still a couple months away, though.
  16. haha I was thinking the same thing.
  17. 14.9 isn't too high for that amp. With only a 100.4 hooked up, the charging system should hardly know it's there.

I'm running A/B on my subs, but only because my big class D broke. It'll work forever for me now, I have no plans to buy another D.
  19. I think the ported box would give you better lows than the sealed box for most music you'll listen to.
  20. I do the wire straight through with caulk method. I don't like those little black plastic round or square terminals very much, they usually use those cheap spade connectors on the inside, and can leak air around/through them.

Woah woah woah, slow down there. Yeah I know, right? haha. But in my defense, I'm pretty sure at least 1800 of them have come in the last 6 months when I began really posting here after SIN/CSO went down. Plus I've never whored in the HOP like most of these fools
  22. I think you would want at least two 4" aeros.
  23. KU40 replied to mccleery3's topic in General Audio
four 4" ports would be the minimum I would recommend. You may be able to get away with it. Two 6" ports would be a little better. But I'd say five 4" ports would be better, and three 6" ports even better if you can fit it.
  24. I've found that having speakers in the rear deck can help raise the soundstage, even up front. But as for your solution, perhaps try going 3-way and putting a mid up-firing in the dash?

Nice. Have you been doing short sales? not a single one, they seem riskier than regular trades to me Indeed, as you would be betting that the stock would go down. But for the last year it seems that's about the only way to come out ahead. I'm just surprised you're up that much, there surely aren't that many stocks ahead over the last year, let alone 65! So well done.
