  1. What do you mean cannot control the sub setting with an LOC? The gain on the amp still works when using that signal. But bass boost is ok to use if you have a dip in frequency response that you want to even out with the rest of the frequency response. Unfortunately, as John said, the frequency the amp presets the boost for is around 45 hz, which basically no sub box should ever create a dip in response at 45 hz.
  2. the input setting is your gain. Match it to the RCA voltage coming from the head unit. Bass boost will just boost a small frequency range, so it will give a hump in frequency response. That doesn't sound good.

This freeze-dried chocolate ice cream w. chocolate chips is weird. It's so light that you bite it and kinda forget it's in your mouth.

Nice. Have you been doing short sales?
  5. You could strap it to the metal rings that are on the floor back there (at least I have a couple poking through my carpet, one on each side near the wheel wells). Or you could make a couple L-brackets and attach one side to the box. Then get a long piece of wood and stick it underneath the carpet, spanning under the L brackets. Then bolt the L bracket to the wood under the carpet.
  6. What speakers do you have hooked up and how are they wired? If you turn the gain up, does it cut out with a lower volume setting where the loudness is the same, or still at 44 even though they are playing louder?

Haven't had your crack in a while, have you?

Have you seen pictures of them though? If nothing else to make sure that it's actually a BL.

Hey I passed 2,000 posts. Yay me
  10. Yeah I know. I had to wait for you to leave so that I knew it would be safe to go to sleep in the state.

Was up in Minnesota this weekend, and thankfully it warmed up from what it had been all last week. I took a spin in an F-18 simulator in the Mall of America, and it was awesome. My call sign was "Gunfighter," my bro's was "Hollywood," and my gf's was "Viper." I killed them both once, and my brother got me once. Real fun stuff. And we went rock climbing at Dick's sporting goods. They have a two-story wall (maybe 30 feet tall?). I chose the second easiest out of the four paths because I had never been before. It's wild. At first I was scared out of my mind leaving the ground, and I felt like I had to hold on for dear life. But that made me use my arms more than my legs, and it was more or less a pull-up exercise up the wall. Oops. Of course I had heard a million times to use my legs, and I tried, but it was weird. Not easy for me. So I went to my comfort zone, which was using my arms. But about 90% of the way up I learned that I really was safe when I had to relax a bit to take a break because my forearms were burning. But at least I didn't totally let go of the wall and just float there a bit to relax like my brother and his wife would. I at least tried to hold on and support myself as best I could. But I did make it all the way up eventually, so that was rewarding.

Pictures of them? Maybe the one dude is getting a boot cover confused with it being a single magnet.
  14. If it won't move and it's not stuck out of the gap (as it would if the coil jumped the gap from overexcursion, the cone would look stuck out), you fried the voice coil with too much power, and as Godsmack said, it welded itself to the motor. Time to call FI for a recone and time to turn the gain down a bit on the amp.
  15. is that 7.49 cubic feet after port and sub displacements or before? If it's after, your tune is 30 hz. If it's before any displacements, your tune is about 31.5 hz. If you want to tune to 28 hz, the port should be 20" if the 7.49 is after displacements, or about 23" if it's before displacements.
  16. my winISD alpha says it's a 32.5 hz tune. shorten to 10.75" to get a 35 hz tune.
  17. I was just up there for the weekend. But now I'm back in Kansas.

Hey we finally got some snow. It's a bit of a dusting right now, maybe 1/4 inch. They say we're supposed to get 1" this morning. So not a ton, but some. But of course it has to happen when I'm going to be driving in it.

IMO, don't waste your money on a temporary amp. Save for the one you want.

    blasphemy!
  22. depends on what caused it. If it was bottomed out, yeah that's not healthy for it. If the amp was clipping at about 100 watts, it won't do anything. If something had already come loose in the motor and was bouncing around causing the noise, well, the damage was already done.
  23. I'm 100% for working hard naturally to lose the weight, but I just wanted to throw another thing out there. I know three people who have chosen to get their stomach stapled and all three had very good luck. My aunt lost probably 80 lbs and is now a very fit looking 45 year old, her husband lost probably 150 and is good looking, and a former coworker was over 400 lbs and dropped 200. But you still have to get your diet right. Surgery will make you eat less at first, but you can still stretch the stomach back out and gain weight if you don't have better discipline.
  24. Maybe cut down the weed, it makes people hungry
