help finding a good middle tune
The music plays a part too. Rap often bumps the level of the bass up relative to the other sounds. So if you tune your gain to that level, the other music genres that leave the bass line on par with the other instruments will suffer in output. I notice that a lot. I'll have some rap in with the sub going full bore, then switch to something else and will hardly hear the sub at the same volume level.

2000 Watts enough for Fi Q 18
Let's see....RMS - 1000 watts. Yep I'd say you could blow it with 2000 pretty easily.

Welcome to the IHoP
tornado siren just went off. weird. I think that's only our second one all year, if that. I don't really remember the first but.....we probably had one. We are in: Tornado watch, tornado warning, flood watch, flood warning Aren't you just supposed to be in either a watch or warning, not both? I thought they meant different things, or were classified in certain ways.

seat backs look different, red in the top two then blue in the bottom. Plus who knows if those pictures are even in order. They could have just been taking hundreds of pictures throughout the night and just put those together so that it would seem dramatic. Need time stamps!

I ran my RCAs down the passenger side. But yeah, I took three pairs of them to the back and they all fit under there too.

Kove Prototypes
It's not about the size of the motor, it's about the size of the coil.

ok since all my ideas have been shot to hell
6.5" would fit. Components, preferably.

was it really necessary for the national weather service to make an announcement that people need to leave parts of Texas or "face certain death?" I mean, really?

Three 10's vs one 12"
I think 10's would be better for you

Got my First ticket...
Thats straight up horsechit. I'm not sure how the law works in your area but apparently it's based on something else other than actual law. In most places they can't pull you over for something you did the day before(unless its criminal). Where I'm at if the cops here see you but don't get you, then see you again later w/o the system on, they can't ticket you for it. I should know, I went thru this from a rookie cop and the judge threw it out because of this. But yes, tickets suck, that's why I only bang on the interstate and my bass amps are switched on the remotes. Nobody's forcing anyone to have the volume up that high. He should have known that the first time, that it might have implications later. mm hmm. I guarantee you that a stock stereo can be heard from 75 feet away. That's not really that far. I can hear people's stock stuff in my house through my windows from the road that's 50 feet away. and I know it's stock because it sucks. At least nobody should have paid any money for it.

Trying to replace speakers
Why wouldn't it run the 6.5's well? It will be fine. I just think it would be too much for them. That's what the gain is for. You can always lower the output of the amp below what it's rated for. But yeah, apparently I wasn't clear enough on my wire suggestions.

She is an evil looking ugly. From 30 feet you probably think she's attractive, but then once you get in close it's like whoa. I don't know if it's just the media I've been hearing or what, but John McCain seems like a dick. I don't think I like either candidate. Can we have a redo on the selections?

at LEAST 4 gauge for power and ground. 12 gauge will work for the subs.

Welcome to the IHoP
Just had the shittiest day of my professional career. Found out the site my boss and I drove 3 hours one way to see yesterday may not have been the right place. I felt like a moron telling my boss today. Before going I checked Google maps, mapquest, and yahoo maps, and none could agree on where the address was. Looking at recent aerial photos in arcmap didn't really help either, because the place has been closed for 20 years and the place has probably been leveled. But I still somehow managed to pick a spot that I thought was right to go look at. Now, tomorrow I get to go do what I should have done before going down there, which is look at aerial photos from 20 years ago to see if I can find anything. And call the city manager. Hopefully he's lived there long enough to remember. I'm so stupid for not being 100% positive before going. And I went down with the intentions of collecting samples. Good thing my boss wanted it to just be a reconnaissance mission. That would have probably been a 5-10k mistake after analysis. Boy, I feel like a winner. I'm going to go ride my bike in the rain now.

Power wire? I forget what amps you have. If you have 1000-1500, 2 gauge would be ok. 1/0 would be bester though.

Welcome to the IHoP
I remember about 12 years ago my grandparents talking about getting a new transmission for their pickup that would have overdrive. I think it was a 4 speed manual before, then the new one was 5 speed with 5th being overdrive. It was like a 1980 pickup or something though.

Difference Between Active and Passive?
is there any way we can make this a sticky or something? It gets asked every other day in people's front stage threads.

Under the plastic bottom part of the door? WOW! I shall look. How did you jump from the front door to the rear? Yeah under that. I believe I just did a lot of shoving and got it under the B pillar plastic molding. It kinda makes an upside-down T, with the plastic moldings from the front and back doors laying on top of them. I think I just started feeding it through the front underneath that T and it made its way to the back. I think the seatbelt holder or something was in the way of just tucking it under from the front/inside, and I didn't feel like taking that out. But I think the wire is resting in a little groove that's kinda under the carpet and molding. It's hard to explain, but it's where the metal floor meets the door molding tracks. Maybe you'll see it when you're down there.
