It hailed golf balls for about 3 minutes today . I think I only got two very little dents on my hood though, so not too bad. Is there any way to get them out? I've heard a trick with dry ice. but it may not even be worth it since they're so small. I agree about GTA. The problem isn't the games, it's parents not doing their job. I grew up playing Ninja Turtles, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, mortal kombat, etc (the violent games of the time on NES and Super NES, haha), and I've never been in a fight in my life. My dad just always told me that there is nothing a fight will solve, although he placed an emphasis on getting girls from it. ha.
  2. the motor looks about as tall as a regular triple stacked magnet motor.
  3. don't you have to factor in the length of wire as well? or does that only affect signal loss (lower voltage from more resistance over longer runs). But I figure if you're losing voltage the energy has to go somewhere and gets expelled as heat.

no doubt. I love supras too.

I like the superman logo on number 3
  6. you'll probably want at least a couple inches of clearance. Not only to allow for the excursion of the sub but also to give it some room to breathe and allow the sound to travel out laterally.
  7. I'm sure the 15" XXX would like 4+ cubic feet in a normal situation. However, will it work and make sound in a tube as small as 1.25 cubic feet? yes. I mean you say you hit over 150 with that, so it must not be terrible, right (albeit sealed)? The problem is that with smaller airspace, the peak frequency of the sub/box combo increases. That is to say, if you had a 4 cubic foot box tuned to 40 hz and a 1 cubic foot box tuned to 40 hz, the 4 cube box would have a peak in output at probably 45-50 hz. the 1 cube box would have it's peak way up at maybe 70 hz. This would be bad if you want to play a tone around 50 with your car. You might want to download winISD and plug it in there to see how it looks and what i mean. I'm at work or else I'd do it. This isn't to mention the efficiency increase you'd see with a larger box as well. But as someone else mentioned, you might get better results using a smaller driver that is more suited to that size of tube. maybe a 10" XXX. It's hard to say whether the more ideal box for the 10" would outperform the too small box for the 15" due to increased cone area that the 15 has.

some day I'll get a bass boat. But for now I guess I'll just have to fish from the shore and in ponds. Why is it that every call I get in my office is a wrong number? Granted I only get maybe 2 a month, but I can't remember the last time one was actually for me. Well, actually I do. About 3 months ago a coworker called me from down the hall about something quick but I didn't answer because I'm so used to it not being for me. He walks down here and is like "Why didn't you answer your phone?" haha.
  9. I forget which place I ordered from. digi-key.com is a place Josh Laine recommended a few years ago that I remember. I think I ordered from Electronics Source, http://www.es.co.th
  10. looks like the FET's I replaced in one of my old amps. You can buy them online for a dollar or two and replace them in 27 seconds with a soldering iron.
  11. Hmm......I have two of those Crossfire BMF 12's (currently in my home theater), a crossfire BMF 1000D, and a 98 explorer. That's almost close. Wonder if that combo is the magic ticket? maybe I should try.
  12. you don't really deal with it. Every "normal" vehicle does get louder with doors/windows open, that I've seen. What's wrong with a truck cab? You have less airspace to pressurize, so you should actually be at an advantage over most cars.
  13. oh, well yeah. It would take quite a bit of effort on the upper end to keep up with two 18" havocs

Mine was pretty worthless too. Plus the professor was so boring it was hard to even pay attention. But at least my discussion TA was an attractive Latin girl.
  15. so your highs do cut out when the bass hits? it's either that or the bass was too loud for the mic to pick up the highs (i.e.- overloading the camera mic).
  16. yeah, don't mix. Unless you're planning on using the 18 for 0-30 hz and the 12's from 30-80 hz in a very hifi setup (which the interior of a Dodge Stratus with one box in the backseat and one in the trunk is not), you're just building a frivolous Frankenstein's monster. Sell them all and get two 15's or something and just put both in the trunk.
  17. I think the problem is probably that the loudness of the subs overloads the mic on the camera.

Is BLW Business Law? I had one of those classes and it was pretty hard. The tests were 3 essay questions each. Not much room for screwing up.
  19. Bazooka http://www.sasbazooka.com/ yeah I know of Bazooka and all their "awesomeness." I was just meaning a tube class in an SPL competition.
  20. weird, I've never heard of a tube class.
  21. you mean 1.25 cubic FEET? that's still way too small for those subs. Why don't you just build a regular box that's more accurately sized, like 4+ cubic feet? 1.25 is going to choke those subs and you're not going to get the max SPL you're after. As for aeroports, I'd say at least 2 4" aeroports or 6" even better.

That's it right there. that's the answer to a lot of things.

ohhhh, you're one of those 2 channel stereo guys.
  24. There isn't really a difference in the 4 ohm and 2 ohm example you gave except for power. All you really need to do is match the amp with the sub so that you get the power output that you want.

man I'm off the site for like 5 hours and I come back to 5+ pages. How am I supposed to keep up with this?
