hit 140 today. 15" in 3.8 cubes tuned to 30 hz on 1000 watts. I wanted to see how this compared to my old setup but it really didn't do it. because my cd player kept skipping below 50 hz or so, so i really couldn't get a reading where i figure i would have been loudest. and this is in a trunk and they wouldn't let me fold down my backseat. and i forgot to take out my rear deck speakers. so I imagine there's a few more db's that didn't show up today.

I'll let you know next sunday how my 15 does.
  3. oh too bad. I found a link to her on another site. She has a few nice little clips
  4. you must have never owned an h2  nope, I haven't. Haven't dealt with orion since they were bought out. Maybe I shoulda specified their older stuff.
  5. I know what you're talking about. But I don't have an answer for you. Just thought maybe you'd feel better knowing somebody understands.
  6. Nope uh oh. I think he's in trouble.
  7. do you know the right answers? pm them to me or provide a link?
  8. i'm guessing, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11
  9. Honestly I don't think even a guy with the same sub and amp would help you. Because his gain won't be at the same level unless his input voltage is the same as yours, and his crossover could be at a different level because of how good his mids are or what vehicle he's in, any eq'ing would be different because of vehicle as well. We can give you general ideas, but ultimately it will be up to you to tune, unless you can find somebody who will physically do it for you. Your LOC's output is variable, correct? so you should be able to match the amp's gain with that, approximately by looks, or more precisely with a voltmeter. Your crossover, start at 80 or so. if your mids are strong and can play lower, drop the xover for the sub. Leave any EQ'ing flat, then you'll just have to listen. if you think it's too strong in the upper bass, lower the EQ there or lower the crossover (lower/raise the EQ level for any other peaks/valleys). bassboost leave off. phase, again you will just have to play with it. turn it to 0, listen to it. turn it to 180, see if it lags behind or is more precise then.
  10. whoa dude. you have the awesomest avitar ever.

    nvm
  12. one of my favorite brands is adidas. they make good shoes. Superstars are all i really wear. oh, car audio. Crossfire, Planet Audio, and Stereo Integrity. make up 80% of my system and are all very solid, clean, and great values (especially for the ebay prices i got the amps for). Orion, as has been mentioned a number of times. Very reliable equipment, very hard to break. Also ran some ED, and I like the company and products. I've also had (and currently run) some JL Audio, and they are very good, too. Retail is pricey, though.
  13. there probably will be some cancellation, but with this much equipment, I imagine it'll be loud enough anyways
  14. i heard they didn't have much lowend, either, but when i installed mine i was like, what are these people smoking? it has more lowend than any setup i've ever had before.
  15. pioneer premiers astonish me. rockford's lowest line doesn't anymore, as they are rated at 14.4+ and put out just a little above rated. drop down to normal voltages and you're at rated. which isn't horrible, though. Just a step down from my old rockford punch 250a2 that was benched at 13.9 volts and put out 404 watts. but of course their new high end amps are pretty ridiculous. always knew kicker's zr's were underrated and wanted to try some, just too expensive.
  16. on the old termlab with two crossfire BMF 12's, 1000 watts, 4 cubes ported to 50 hz, i got 145 out of my trunk. somewhat similar setups, you just need to tune higher. that will make quite a difference. I think I got second out of 6-7 competitors in my class, too, so it's not that bad. think i only lost by like .2 db or something, too. he even had a hatch.
  17. All DD's baskets are black, too, aren't they? plus the red leads.
  18. it's tomorrow! now how bout them pics and a listening review?

the 15.5 is the overall outer diameter. the 14" is the cutout diameter.
  21. :punch: Where's my money, man? :punch: :boxin: give me my money. :punch: oh, wait. nvm. wrong thing. but really, it doesn't matter all that much. like they say, many parts are shared in this business. I very much doubt they have the same specs or respond the same in the same environment.

that sucks. but I cut my 15 out at 14", and it fits perfectly. plenty of room for the screws.

hmm, strange. i just remembered that it is 15.5". I just took that measurement a little over a week ago.

shoot i can't remember the exact outer diameter. it's in the 15.25-15.5" range. are you making it recessed in there? as far as displacement, I'd just figure on .15 cubic feet or so. it won't make a huge difference.
