  1. We're supposed to get between 2 and 6 inches tonight and tomorrow. Not a ton, but the first real snow of the year here.
  2. Curious as to why they would ever think that some RMS calculation is possible. Hell even clamp meters aren't very accurate. Just something that was thought to be true. Personally, I had been told this by many audio shops as well as car audio boards. Multiply the total of the fuses on the amp by the voltage it receives and you will get a figure for the rms wattage. Nobody with any understanding has ever thought it to be true. One of those myths perpetuated through the ignorant masses. I would contend that it could give you a GENERAL idea of the power, but nothing specific. I mean obviously it wouldn't make much sense to put a 10 amp fuse on a 1,000 watt amp and vice versa, three 30 amp fuses on a 100 watt amp. I'd say maybe 20-30% possibility of being off either way of the fuse size x voltage x efficiency rating? But I'd say if you really want to go through the trouble of finding out what the amp really puts out, it won't give you a close enough answer to satisfy.
  3. One question is, why does it even matter? The power output to your speakers will vary widly anyways just due to impedance fluctuations with different frequencies. Plus what's really the difference between like 100 and 120 watts? What will you do with that information? Chances are that amp puts out about 20-25 x 4 @ 4 ohms.

Wish I had gotten a bit more of that last night. I was a bit wired after my basketball game. We finally won the last game, going 1-7 on the season.

Yeah they were. Well Aaron should be happy at least.
  6. You would probably be able to hear a little difference. However, if you don't fix your power problem getting a larger amp won't do anything because it won't be able to suck enough juice from your electrical system to even put out any more power.

It was a good night, ended the drought. I guess that means I have a gf now. way to go slugger! grats. Haha. Easily the loudest girl I've ever been with. I was like wow, the neighbors are probably awake now. Even the ones in the next apartment building. fucking A right. That's the way you break a dry spell! Haha. It actually was a little bit weird for me. I'm quiet, and that's how my previous gfs have been too. So it was interesting I suppose you could say. Might take some getting used to.

I was like wow, the neighbors are probably awake now. Even the ones in the next apartment building. Did she make you her boyfriend beforehand? Last time I did this, fucking her didn't make us BF/GF, but if you're cool with it. . Well neither of us is really the random ass type. And we both have said (the day before this) that we went out on dates with other people before meeting each other and have ignored those other people since. So while that's not a definite talk of exclusivity, I think we're on the same page.
  9. If the tuning frequency is different and more suitable, it definitely is worth the time and effort.
  10. Haha I totally laughed out loud.

Broke out the crockpot for a simple chicken recipe today. Few chicken breasts, two cans cream of chicken soup, one can cheddar cheese soup. I also added carrots for some veggies, but obviously with this simple of a recipe you can add almost anything that tastes good with a little cheese. It was fabulous.

It's pretty common actually. That extra yard can go a long way to preventing a safety if a defender gets into the backfield in a hurry on a hand off.
  15. Box looks good, my only comment is that I am less a fan of the back and forth port. I would have just ran it along the back wall (if the sub would have still fit depth-wise). I think the more turns you have in the port, the more delay it introduces and the resulting sound isn't quite as accurate.

I watched that a while ago, or maybe it was another show where they were putting those together. There are some serious pins holding the bucket onto the lifts.

I drove through NY like two days after Christmas last year. F that, traffic was ridiculous. I felt claustrophobic from that, and I don't get claustrophobic. Do you mean NYC or the actual state of NY? Cause there is one hell of a difference. J NYC. We drove on some highway through the Bronx. Although the New Jersey turnpike was stop and go, took us like 6 hours to get across New Jersey. Shit, it takes 6 hours to go across the state of Kansas, which is like 4 times bigger. It also took us 3 hours to go about 20 miles up near Hartford, Connecticut, and another 3 hours to get across Massachusetts (going straight north). Sucked big time.

To me it's just an excuse for people to buy gifts. Until Aidan came along that wasn't something we did either. Just makes no sense to me. Spend a bunch of money on someone for something they might want. Fuck that, if Kari or I want something we'll talk about it and buy it. *this year I am getting her a "gift" though. It's been more than 2 years in the house and we still don't own a microwave. As a Xmas gift it's a joke though as with the little man we actually "need" one **pretty sure I still won't use it except for defrosting meat occasionally....which is exactly why I am picking one out. Inverter defrost ftw. (or so I hope) I've never been a great gift giver because I never really want something myself. But no microwave? Do you never have leftovers? How do you reheat all those big slabs of meat you grill and smoke, in the oven?

All shit is right. 150 years is a joke. There was a glacier in Kansas 400,000 years ago, which is only 1/10,000th of the earth's age ago. That is basically like one day in my whole life of 25 years. Most humans just can't deal with the fact that they can't control something, e.g.- the earth. Control freaks, the lot of them. For me personally, i just wonder how big of an impact we are having on the earth's cycles I think our damage is just cosmetic, like urban sprawl ruining scenery and garbage piling up. Though we'll really need to do something about our agricultural practices before long. Watched a show the other day and China is having problems with ground water mining like we are. I think if humans are going to have a prosperous life after about 50 years from now we're going to have to perfect desalination and make it very economical. I can't see any way for humans to altar the earth in any fashion even remotely permanent. I mean volcanoes are some of the most destructive yet awesome things on the planet, yet even their ash clouds that can cover nearly the ENTIRE PLANET and drop the global temperatures several degrees in a literal instant fade away after a couple of years and the earth is back to normal. I mean when you hear the narrators on those shows say that like the Mt. St. Helens eruption was equal to like 4 million tons of TNT or 10,000 Hiroshima bombs, come on. Humans haven't even come close to replicating that kind of power and short term change. Same with El Nino cycles, sun cycles, etc. Not even to mention how continental drift and the positioning of continents and land masses affects weather and landscapes everywhere.
