  1. Dang, do you still have this amp by any chance?? nope I got rid of it I traded the A3000gti for a pair of Soundstream REF 2.640 two channel amps and a pair of REF 1.500 mono blocks I no longer have a desire for an amp that needs 6 batteries and 2 big alternators... all 4 of the amps I have now use less juice than the A3000
  2. It's been a while.....might need someone to show me how to use a saw....LOL the temporary amp set up....they fit under the rear floor nicely once I am ready to add the other mono block the wiring will be all hidden under theshelf out of sight
  3. yes .......... I am still alive ......... lived thru it and now I am more annoying than ever !! anyways...time to build a system to cruise around sunday mornings and listen to my favorite anger management noises.......(Metallica,Pantera,Judas Preist ex...) pics of the ride here is a list of the equiptment 1 Pioneer 80PRS head unit2 Soundstream REF 2.640 amps for the top end2 Soundstream REF 1.500 amps for the subs I have temporary Hertz high energy coaxils and a 12" sub to listen to while I work on the install so I am not in a huge rush to get it together right now I am leaning towards a pair of 10" Icons installed at the rear cornersin fiberglass ported enclosures and two pairs of Focal K2 Power componentson the top end ( 3 way up front and 2 way in the back) once the weather warms up a bit I can start on the sub enclosures
  4. I use to have the same problem years ago....get every bit of power out of the amp and cook the sub...turns out sad every time I like to over power my subs now.....a 2000w amp set correctly would spank an Xcon really really good with out producing any smoke.... a little bit to much clean power will not hurt a sub as long as the mechanical limits are not over exceeded for example when I had a pair of 10"Icons on my Crown A3000gti amp..(LOL)...they took the power with out cooking the coils but the cones ripped clean off the surrounds when the mechanical limits were exceeded the coils darkened slightly but no smoke with well over a true 3,200w rms going to them
  5. take it from someone who has blown more subs than he can count ""YOU ARE CLIPPING YOUR AMPLIFIER"" If you are getting a burning smell out of that sub on only 1000w there is definitely a clipped signal there
  6. wow didn't think this section would still be here I have spent the last couple years in and out of the hospital and went back to school to finish working on my welding preasure tickets. my health is getting better (sort of) but I have basically walked away from car audio for a while, had to sell everything to cover bills and shit while I was recovering went bankrupt..sorry to those couple people I owed $$...I pretty much lost everything I owned thru the process... the only piece of car audio I still have is the Crown A3000gti reactor is for sale for the right $$$ I am now working full time for the natural gas company welding on natural gas pipelines and starting to finally get out of the hole as for car audio I now have a 2006 Dodge Magnum that I will be working on when I get some time off there is no further interest from me in building any more enclosures, with the way my designs were copied from others they were no longer unique and it took all the fun out of it not to mention the money was the shits ....most people want as much as possible for bottom dollar and with the over costs with shipping them it was starting to cost me more than I made there will be one more build coming for the dodge magnum... built the way I should have from the beginning but could never afford to I might post some pics of the Magnum if anyone is interested as things are done Trev

in response to my stack of e mails and PM's I am still stuck up in Northern BC waiting for the snow to shut us down... once I get back home I'll be firing the shop back up for a few more projects...will be back soon
  8. I have built a dozen or so variations of this design.... the white one had very good sq....did well in SPL comp with a single woofer version
  9. too many contributing factors here...... power supply, rms , enclosure design exc.... personally I would take the single SA 600w rms sub...... more power usually snaps a bit better and digs low notes more easily
  10. a 15" would be a little tight in there I had two 10" in my 1998 firebird hatchback and they pounded really well
  11. still not taking any orders as of yet but I will be taking a few soon.. I will post when I am ready
  12. I wish I could make a decent $$$ building enclosures full time...The position I am in now gives me job stability and Very good $$$ I still like building and installing so I'll post when I am ready to take a few orders
  13. I probably will not have time for a few weeks to start any projects....... I just passed the welding Preasure tests for the Natural Gas company today and I have to go pick up my company truck/ welding rig on Monday apparently am being sent out of town for a few weeks
  14. sorry but I do not sell designs..... try Fisher... he may be able to help
  15. LMAO I got a Pioneer 10" sub powered by a flux capacitor running free air that NAILS 170 db easily..... hehe
  16. good marketing ploy....LMAO Check out our new sub..... it needs 5 grand worth of amplification and charging system upgrades to operate along with a U Haul or Cargo Van to hold the enclosure...... when all said and done you'll have a whopping 140 Db that sounds like cardboard boxes being crunched......
  17. realistically that sub is about equal to a boat anchor ..... I heard the Jackhammer a couple years ago and it had the musical ability of a trash can
  18. I beleive that enclosure was in my trailer along with two others and a crapload of materials and tools when it conveniently dissapeared...it was found a week later completely empty... also lost the hard drive on my desk top holding all info on all remaining customer info and my internet was disconnected so my e mail accounts were deleted I made posts on both Canadian Car Audio and here about my situation a couple times about my financial and enclosure building situation for the 4 people I owe.... so no one would think I was deeking the situation ..not shure what Bankruptsy will do when I start earning a paycheck again (not discharged for a couple more months and I'm not shure what they will take yet) I had no choice to do so...I ended up almost $40,000 in the hole and given threats of court action by some nasty collection agencies so I put all debt on it to protect myself and family of the experience even though the enclosure debt is on the bankruptsy list they will be paid as soon as it is financially possible hope to get financially cought up very soon...I should be back to work with in 2 weeks....
  19. I beet my ticket 3 years ago based on the fact that the cop had no proof that it was more than 85 db outside the vehicle ( low freq noise travels even at 60 db ) the trains , bikes , and slot of vehicles that drove by while he was writing my ticket were much louder than I was at the time ... I accused the cop of being prejudice towards myself because I liked music... LOL the cop was really pissed that the charges were dropped
  20. I have completed the Level B welding ticket and I am still at the college practicing for the big preasure test on the 16th in Vancouver..... onced that is out of the way I should be able to manage my spare time (weekends) for a few projects I will let you guys know as soon as I do
  21. ...I will probably take on 5 or 6 builds over the winter durin\g lay off time but I doubt I will be shipping any more enclousures out of Canada unless the customer wants to deal with all the shipping details and billing themselves... I am not shure on the hours or even where I will end up working ( in or out of town) so I can't be shure when I will start back up...if I work out of town it will be fall before I will be around long enough to build anything

Just a little update for those minds that want to know..... only 3 and 1/2 weeks of school left and I'll be back to work...there are a couple of future projects and enclosure request builds coming so I will be back
  23. sounds like you are trying to get more out of your system than it is capable of personally I would get more power behind those components , set the gains correctly and stay below 3/4 volume on the head unit
  24. wow... anyone taking part in trying to make this bill happen are victums of insestic breading or they were dropped on their heads really fuckin hard when they were kids........ people this stupid should be flipping burgers not passing bills
