  1. Nick, You can't just through this out there and not let us know what you your talking about! NEED MORE INPUT!
  2. no more purple/pink surround in the pictures...
  3. Thanks for the info. I still think I'm going to have to try the 15 ported before I'll be happy with my sealed box... To bad I like having trunk space.
  4. 80inches... School us please. Have you made a TL box with a D2 and if so how did you like it? What did the rough dimensions of the box end up being?
  5. Thanks for the props! It does smoke just about everything I run into on a daily basis... I drive about 75 miles a day an it makes the commute enjoyable at times.
  6. Hope nobady cares as this strays off topic... 7. not a close-up of the engine bay, but someone may enjoy this... FYI, it did 369.9 hp and 347.5 torque this is of course wheel horsepower driven to all 4 wheels. Makes for a fun ride, Maybe my 1/4 mile would be quicker if I ditched the audio equipment... nah!
  8. The wing is stock, its a 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII.
  9. Oh yea, someone asked for car pictures before too, so here is one from last year. It looks better now with some window tint though. Here ya go!
  10. I used black "leather-like" vinyl from Jo-Ann Fabrics. I think it was 19.99 a yard. backed it with some 3/8 inch foam and that was it. The foam hides any box imperfections (like countersunk screws) and helps round the corners of the box so they look pretty.
  11. I love my 9813, but everyone's settings are going to be different. Download the instruction manual from alpines website if you lost yours and read the manual. It pretty explicit on how to set up time delay. It also goes through setting up the freq, slope, and level of your outputs fairly well. This deck really packs alot into a small package, lots to play with! read the directions and follow them to the t and you should be golden.
  12. ummm ok, so is this a bad idea? Or doesn't it matter?
  13. So, if I were to build a nice 4 cu ft box and port it out the front of the box through the rear armrest hole into the cab, but still have the sub mounted at the back of the box in the trunk, how would that end up with the sub and the port being on different sides of the box? Would that mess things up? Seems like I remember somewhere that for optimum results the sub and port should be on the same face of the box. Hoping that once I go ported I'll never go back to sealed...
  14. Exactly what i needed to hear. Thanks. Guess if I want to play, I'll have to build another box....
  15. I've always been a sealed box kinda guy, but I've been bored recently and thinking of porting my current box, but I'm thinking it may be a tad too small. The box is 3 cu ft now. the sub is mounted in the back of the box and I am thinking of porting it out the front of the box and into the cab. Would that mess the sound up having the sub in the trunk and the port venting into the cab through the rear armrest passthrough? BTW pics of the setup are in post one of this thread if you don't understand What I'm saying. Thanks for the suggestions in advance!
  16. I have never powered it with anything else to campare it against. But I'm happy. I know there is another forum member on here that has the same setup as well. My previous install was 5-10's powered with an xtant 10001d amp (1000wrms), in a hatchback. This one 15 mag is 90% as loud, but it's in the trunk! Also, it sounds about 5 times better.
  17. oh, and to answer the original question, I run a viper 1200.1 on one mag 15"
  18. check out ebay for an orion 1200 or a viper 1200.1. sometimes they show up there after being remanufactured.
  19. I have the same setup as far as an amp and sub. My gain is at 3/4 and my remote gain is usually about 1/2, but yours will be different. My freq is at about 70hz, but your settings will vary there as well. Bass EQ is at 0. phase is 0 my subsonic is off, but I am running a sealed box so you may want it on. Hope that helps some. Do you have an owners manual for the amp? If not I have it in pdf format.
  20. I got my shirt too! I remember reading in another post when the back logo was originally decided on that there was some inside joke on the logo's meaning. Can you fill us in on it?
  21. I don't have any good pics of the car right now to post, but I do have a 4 meg sub excursion video if someone would like to host it for me.....
  22. sq is amazing with this sub I didn't know loud bass could be so musical.... As far as racing I hold my own pretty well, the car is putting down 370 HP to all 4 wheels on pump gas. :boink:
  23. Thanks everyone, and it does pound! OMG, does it go soooo low. For those wondering, one 15" D2 can definately blur vision at high volumes
