  1. How do you figure? The Audioque HDC3 is $239 from their site and the Fi Audio BL15 is just under $300. IDK how much the RE MX is though, but from the looks of it, I can definitely get a loud sub in that price range. If you think I should up my budget a little for something else, feel free to suggest something though.
  2. I don't really have a set budget. I just don't want to spend stupid money. If I can get a really nice sub for $250-$350, maybe a bit more.. then I'm happy. As for the amp, I'm not entirely sure yet, but I am thinking the Crunch GP3000D-Pro to run the sub at 2 Ohm, and the PZi 100.4 for components. You think that'll be good? I've read some good things about the Crunch amps and I really do like the prices. Right now Im really just trying to plan everything out and since this will be my first real system, I have a lot to learn. Pretty much the cheaper the component is without sacrificing SPL or SQ is what I'm looking for. Also, I drive a 00 sunfire.
  3. Currently I have cheap crappy Duals from best buy and am looking to upgrade. I am looking for SPL, but SQ is very important as well since it's a daily driver. THey have to be able to take a beating and handle extreme weather as well (both cold and hot). In my search I've found a lot and would like some opinions. I've been looking at stuff like the FI BL, RE MX, and Audioque HDC3. Other people have recommended DC audio as well as T3. Basically I'm looking for a quality sub that's not too expensive, that gets VERY loud while still retaining good SQ. It seems like there is a lot of good subs out there. I admit I don't know much about the stuff either, making it more difficult to choose. So I hope some of you guys could help lead me to a sub I'd be happy with.

I've been looking around since I posted this topic and see a lot of people recommending FI subs. How loud would one FI Q 15" be in comparison to one Alpine Type X? I ask bc thats the only decent system I've ever really heard. I know the Q line is considered the sound quality line, but can anybody comment on the sound quality? Bc I want a loud ass sub that really thumps and shakes, but since its a daily driver and I'm driving around a lot sound quality is EXTREMELY important. Especially for movies and stuff. But I'd like to to be really loud so at times when i feel like crusing down the street and just being obnoxious, I can. haha

Just thought I'd introduce myself. My system in my 00 sunfire is currently just cheap Duals from best buy, but have plans to upgrade it, which is why I joined this forum. I have a lot to learn and hope I learn a lot here. What makes me want to upgrade most is sitting in my friends grand am with just one 10" Alpine Type X. The Duals have been my first system and when upgrading I'm pretty much looking at going all out with, with a ton of bass, but still retaining good sound quality. At this point I don't really know what to look for, I don't really have a set budget. If I think somethings worth the extra cash, I'll buy it. The 15" Rockford Fosgate T2's are pretty expensive, but look appealing. I'm afraid I won't be able to build a large enough box in my 00 sunfire to use them to their full potential though. I've been pretty much looking at Kicker, Alpine, and RF. For component speakers I currently have Sony Xplodes from walmart. I don't really know how they compare to other component speakers, but I don't mind upgrading those if I need to. Before I upgrade all this stuff I'm going to be buying a new deck though. I plan on going all out here and getting an in-dash DVD player with navigation and everything. Right now the Pioneer Z2 looks appealing. Especially with the iPod interface and built in harddrive. I absolutely hate CD's. If anybody has suggestions it would be appreciated. Either suggestions on subs, a deck or w/e.... or just suggestions on places to read up to get a better idea of what I want.
