  1. what is a good head unit (preferably JVC or Alpine) that will not skip because of the bass? i have a alpine cda7897 now and i cant turn my music up without the cd skipping repeatedly. really wouldnt want to spend more than 400 for a h/u. its going to a lincoln towncar and i am running a zx2500.1, zx650.4 and (2) 15" btl's
  2. Anybody here going to attend this event?
  3. REGRETFUL TO SAY I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING. i had drill thatg weekend and i attempted to RST but them fags said that it was a mandatory battle assembly. so all of you all that would of been in my class be happy! i guess i will just have to wait until later! sucks tho. yall have fun!!
  4. what kind of car u pushing. so i know when i see u. what subs/amp u have?
  5. I am not doubting that.....yours is obviously gained correctly. Mine isn't ppassinly so I need some guidance
  6. Can't wait to see the vids
  7. Ok are now I am getting confused again! The tutorial Aeon Rider posted didn't say that. Now I am being told no BB! I followed what he said and according to that I had my gains set to high. If I turn my BB off then it is barely any sound! So did I do something wrong? I then called kicker and he told me that the BB should be at the same level as the gain. If I have to turn my BB off I will sound like a circuit city 10"! What do you all think is going on? Something has to be wrong with how my gains are set. I think my amp has 6 ticks for gain and I am under the second. Also I took the equation in the tutorial and came up with 72.80 as my AC voltage. I would try to set it and it would fluctuate so much before the song went off so I don't if even now I have the gain up too much. Any thoughts?

  9. oh ok thanks. will do asap. yeah i was a lil skeptical myself at first but i no longer am! i am even thinking about putting a fi sticker on my windshield and i hate putting anything extra on my car!! i probably wont but thats how happy i was when i first heard them!
  10. dmm to test the ohm load? what should i be turning my gain and boost to? is there a thread on here for proper way to do that!?
  11. oh ok. i read it again John...cmon man dont even try to play me like that! this is like my 5th towncar! i know all about that lol. i am a towncar/lincoln Guru! oh is your TC an Exec L? it looks like one of the longer diplomatic models
  12. no it isnt screwed in but i actually am disconnecting it until i get everything straight. yeah i know kharps. i thought they would fit but they wouldnt. i am not planning on playing it anymore until i get my box designed. this should be happening by next week. i am still waiting on my stuff from FC. once i get that all of the equipment will be secured! i just wanted to get a feel of how they sounded so i played them for a couple of songs and took some pics. trust that the next pics you see will be a finished product!! btw what is DMM?

i am running (2) 15"D2 Btl's in 6 cub. ft. @ 32hz right now. the amp i am using is a zx2500.1. what is a safe or optimal freq. to turn the amp to? is this something that is done by listening or is there a general rule of thumb. i am just noticing that the higher notes in almost all the songs i listen to, are almost not even audible. the lower notes are def there but what would correct this "problem?"
  14. man i am psyched! i will def be there for that event!! i am almost 2 years removed from competing but i almost got my chit together and i plan on hitting some decent numbers. Anyone else on the forum plan on being there?
  15. i have a lot of work still to do. i need more electrical, the right sized box, and i actually need to install all this stuff properly. but when it is done it will be glorious. now that i learned how to post pics i am about to go balls to the wall and try and post a short vid i recorded last night.

  17. i will get around to that today. just that i have never posted pics or vids on here b4 so i am going to have to find my way around and it is hard to do that at work and work! but i will put a couple pics up now. vids will have to wait lol. and man it def is a great feeling! i cant believe how these subs sound! and man o man once i get a proper sized box and electrical it will be monstrous! i even have the gain on halfway, bass boost fairly low, and sub control on the headunit on 0 and that chit still is loud as fudge. a box vs. a weak box is night and day.
  18. damn. that sucks. and i was looking forward to the finish. good luck
  19. What can I say?! You tole me right! I mean these things really hit hard! To I got a headache after like 15 min! Once they get the proper box and electrical...........scary! But yes I am totally satisfied! I will never go astray from this type of sub! I was laughing nonstop from the enjoyment!
  20. Sorry all. Pics will be up tomorrow. Yes I am using the kicker amp on them. Man it sounds so good!
  21. Ok so ups delivered my 2 15" btl's today and needless to say I was anxious to put them in. So I used a box that FC designed for me but the cutout is too big. I put them in anyways and get it sop hooked up. Yo I played the first song and I couldn't believe how loud it was! The 2 subs were just as loud as my 4 15's that I had in my previous setup! I can't believe how loud it is! And I was talking about getting 2 18's! To say the least I am very satisfied! I have to keep the gain down because my lights were dimming and also because the subs are leaking a lot of air because of the cutout! Just to imagine that these subs will be louder is amazing! Good looking out on all the advice the forum members threw my way! And a special shoutout to Big John!

  24. yeah i decided to do 2 way. i sent the cdt's back last week. but i will keep the daytons in now because i am willing to blow them tweaking my system opposed to a driver that is more costly. thanks yall.
