  1. nice box!!
  2. quick question: i thought the purpose of 45's were to reduce turbulence in a port. is there a gain (spl) when using 45's in a sealed box?
  3. biggest box that will fit in my trunk without having to be built inside. why do i need to bump up the port area if im getting 13.7 per cube??
  4. yeah i just use torres to find out what a box will be tuned to. do you think my design is ok as it is?
  5. ive been a little confused about the common port walls. i just assumed it was the right side and the back (being only 2). im on a rockford t1000 (1.3-1.4k) for the time being until i beef up my electrical. hopefully ill get a crescendo 3500 on it one day. tuned low because i fell in love with the lows after my first 15 haha. puncher bass notes dont appeal as much to me over having everything in my car flexxin when im down in those low 20's
  6. i had a rockford fosgate t1d415 before and ive been messing around with custom boxes for a little while. i didnt know too much about winisd back then. luckily my first box i built for it played very nice and didnt have any port noise. i tuned it around 34hz if i remember correctly. i loved how low it could get down. i played into the lower/mid 20's (i know i was playing a bit lower than the tuning freq) and loved it. this time around im going to design a box for my fi sp4 15. it should be here any day (i hope) and i'd like to be tuned low. heres my current design for it. can you guys let me know if my design is ok. i know the port is a little skinny but it looks like the port area checks out.
  7. 27 business days so far no updates on the fi site or tracking # progress
  8. What did you order? sp4 15 .basic, no upgrades
  9. order 1769 placed on april 20. still waiting.... cant wait lol

  11. im on day 22 (business days) for my sp4. patiently waiting!!
  12. LOVE it
  13. how would you go about finding your stereos max undistorted volume? you have an o-scope lying around?
  14. obviously the sa cant take 2400 daily so its gonna be interesting.
  15. gonna be interesting setting the gains by ear when the sa is wangin up in the 2k rms range lol
  16. does a clipped signal generate more heat? http://www.bcae1.com/2ltlpwr.htm
  17. brx2400 on a sa12? like to make sure gains are set right for burps. last thing wanted is clipping/distortion
  18. yeah i figured it was coming but maybe someone can PM me if they have one edit: why arent people fans just curious? you can find out your stereos max volume without distortion and set your gains quick. hes going to be running alot of power so we'd like to make sure its getting clean power. i figure we'll tune it on a 0 db track and back it off a hair extra
  19. i was looking to see if anyone in the orange county area had a dd1 that i could use really quick to set my buddies gains. we could bring some beers out for the hassle. i was hoping to get it done some time next weekend or whenever is best for the owner of the dd1 thanks!
  20. from there what do i do? i tried putting numbers in and got something like 650 ft/s i must be doing something wrong.
  21. this is my first time tooling around with winisd. my fi sp4 should be here any day and i'd like to make sure my box design is okay or if i should tweak it. ive seen port velocity used frequently around here and i was wondering how i can determine port velocity. is it for aeroports only or can port velocity be determined in a L slot port? can someone explain how to find out the port velocity for a L port. and before people start saying, yes i did search around a while on the forum and google and couldnt come up with the answer. thanks!
