  2. Has anyone received their Damplifier Pro Sound Deadener yet? ANT
  3. Wow.. That is one hell of a trunk lid man. So you are confident that you have rattles, and not vibrations right? Like it has been said in this thread, panels need to be isolated so the rattles can stop. Expanding foam should work but in your situation, so might an old t-shirt or a sponge. Isolation is the key (provided you have rattles, not vibrations. If it were vibrations, I would say you could use a liquid damper and spray in to the skin from the large holes to pick up some hard to reach surface area. In some cases a vibration damper can be used to reduce rattles to, if either the mat is thick enough to isolate the panels, or if the damper reduces the flex of the panels enough that it keeps them from smacking one another.. 4. For some reason we did not renew our security certificate in time. This should be finxed in a day or 2. Local pick up is fine! just call me ahead of time to make sure I will be in the shop 623-533-8193 ANT
  5. The *** Package is pretty awesome but remember, you have to provide us with a video meeting specific requirements. This is not a publicly available package for everyone. It is a hell of a dea but not a free ride, or even a discounted one. Strings are attached. ANT
  6. Had anyone received the material yet? ANT
  7. FOr sure Make sure if you use the expanding foram you use the Minimal Expanding foam from Dap, and do a few test ares to see how mcuh it expands. Doing the silicaon after the foam expands is the best way to insure that you wont bucklet you sheet metal Otherwise, just be careful ANT
  8. No problem Either way you go, you will get good results. Don has a solid product, so the results will be solid. This thread was about our products so I wanted to chime in. If you have any questions let me know [email protected] I am always happy to help, regardless of whos product you use. ANT
  9. Sure.. I can see the confusion.. I simply left out the details of the exact situation. I was presented with teh idea and samples were provide. I made some changes (increased tile size, which they were calling pads), got more samples in, then decided against following through with the product. So I guess we, with the help of our manufacture, we developed the pads. I just left out the details. ANT

  11. The 25% coverage plan is not ours. That belongs to Don at SDS. His theory behind covering the panel with 25% coverage is the same one the OEM industry has been using for years. Basically it treats the harmonic resonance in the sheet metal. 25% -30% is about where the point of diminishing results kick in for harmonic distortion, but the results do keep coming all the way up to 100% (depending on the product, the car and the intensity and frequency placed upon the sheet metal in the car). People tend to confuse the idea of dimishing retuls with no additional returns and think that 25% is the end all number for every vibration damping project. I don't follow that Idea, and nore do many in the industry. That is not to say that the 25% plan does not have its place. It certainly does, and it works very well for its intended purpose. Out tiles are intended to reduce as much vibrations as possilbe with as little work as necessary. Sure, you can use the 25% plan with them, and since they have the thickest foil on the market and an ahdeive with a very high rubber content they will work for that intended purpose, but you might find that you will need more than 25%. You might find that for your goals and sound system 50% or 75% might be the magic number. Most of it will be trial and error. 25% is a great starting point though. As far as me claiming that the teils were my idea a year ago, they were not. They were actually presented to me byt the company that manufactures the materails for me and I declined. I never claimed to invent the tiles. Neither I nor anyone else in the aftermarket industry can. They man that brought the concept of constrainat layer damping to the OEM and to the aftermarket still works int he industry formulating adhesive. We have spoke at length and have very similar view points on damping. Infact, mcuh of what I have learned was from him, or the engineers he has referred me to. I never claimed to invent Constraint Layer Damping. I just simple improve up on the existing products. ANT
  12. Are you talking aobut the bracing on the lid? If so, what I have found to work pretty good is to use silicone in the area between the layers where the bracing and the sheet metal meet up. Once it cures, use asmall amount of expanding foam inside the bracing. Not too much though. Then apply a vibration damper over the sheet metal and the bracing. that works well fo rme.. ANT
  13. The PRoduct is in. We are making the door packs today, and will be selecting the winners this weekend. I Appreciate everyones patience. ANT
  14. Dum Dum is what the window companies used to seal windshield with back in the day.. Basically it was a 3m extruded butyl ribbon, sold as a tape. Unless there is a stiff foil backing, it won't reduce vibrations. The foil needs to be at least 4 mils thick to do any serious vibration damping. This is about 12 sheets of Kitchen foil thick. give or take. Hope that helps! ANT
  15. 6 skids of Damplifier Pro arriving tomorrow Expect the results soon! ANT
  16. Sorry for the delay guys. We had 2 very large orders clean us out about 2 weeks ago. We are supposed to have more Damplifier Pro in this week. Once it arrives, I will choose the winners Thanks for your patience! ANT
  17. I think it will. We will do at least one per year. Maybe more, but 1 every october or so for sure.. Thanks for the donations Mark. I know the winners werre very happy! ANT
  18. I am not sure about the next show. Probably next year. Might be an anual thing. We still need to come up with a name for the show though.. Any thoughts? ANT
  19. NAh.. that wouldn't have worked.. On eguy put his frozen shirt under Marks exhaust and it did nothing. Once the contest was over we took one frozen shirt, that was halfway unwrapped, placed it on a large river rock that was sittin gin the sun all day (103 degrees f. that day ) and ran water over it from a hose for 15 minutes and that did nothing. Still frozen. Crazy how solid the shirts became. A NT
