  1. Guess I was paranoid about my alt being allowed to run wide open like that but I've never had <12.6 so I think I that means I'm okay for the time being. Thanks guys. Like I said, overthought lol.
  2. My confusion is, if the bank is between the amp and the alt, the amp will draw from the bank making only one run of wire necessary as far as the charging system, correct? Therefore, I fuse that single run to protect from shorts, yes? No need to worry about smoking my alt with a fuse larger than it's output capacity, letting me just wail on it?
  3. I just spun myself out on this, I feel like I know the answer but fuck it If i'm running an amp that draws 400a rms, and I have a 200a alt, a g31 under the hood 4/0 to the rear bank, and 6 g31's in the rear, I fuse appropriate for the wire always, not the peak rating of my alternator yes? something like, 300a for 4/0 iirc. If I already plug up the bank and charge it fairly often (once a week), no real concern for such a small alt supporting that bank, correct?
  4. What happened with this build?
  5. Did you measure impedance while playing, or while resting?
  6. I'm not sure where to start looking for a projector, I had one I got for free for a few weeks before I moved home to Illinois and loved it but I accidentally left it. I'm considering another instead of a 50" tv, something in the neighborhood of a 120" screen. I'm looking to spend $200-300, I don't need something insane but I'd like a quiet model, mine had rowdy cooling fans. What would you guys suggest?
  7. I also like the way slowed songs tend to sound more mellow; don't know how to describe it exactly.
  8. I don't like to add bass, it can cause it to sound dirty. I don't know how to up the lows without lowering the rest of the range to keep it clean. That's what I like about Decaf. I have all of Decaf's Zips =]
  9. Post your studies, comparison testing, amp gut reviews, and individual parts testing please.
  10. I suppose what I'm asking is for names, DJSNT, Decaf, stuff like that. A good source.
  11. You accuse us all of veering away from the main topic, which is more of a projection of your own behavior. If you were truly concerned with learning, you'd be asking questions, instead of talking.
  12. If you look through my older posts, I beefed with him on a daily basis, nothing but keyboard mashing fury lol. I have come to respect his advice, as he's never steered me wrong. He's also helped me develop my idea of my ideal system; I have trouble being realistic in my goals lmao. Can't hate the man for helping me out. I actually used to get warning points for talking out my ass as well, just like you. But I sorta realized, when you say things here sometimes people listen, and if I gave bad advice and someone blew their system up, i'd feel like trash. The difference here is, I learned to accept advice from those wiser as a teen, you're a full grown idiot
  13. Literally, I frequent SSA to chase better install skills. Always after a lower note. Trying to keep the information accurate is the responsibility of forum members, so others can learn too.
  14. Do you even want to learn anything or do you come here just to talk? Honest question, no sarcasm.
  15. I got nothin', lmao I derped Guess I shoulda said original question.
  16. Do you see how irrelevant this is in relation to the OP's question?
  17. Genrally answers are offered to those who demonstrate a lack of understanding. You didn't need to ask to make it clear that you need the help.
  18. My original of bill withers is definitely not that bass heavy; Either way, what are some old school bangers? Doesn't need to be modified. The SPL thread is mixed or I'd just dig through there
  19. By guiding someone to think as opposed to sooonfeeding them an answer, they can understand the process as opposed to a one time solution.
  20. Your profound inability to accept the fact that you don't know what you're talking about is....impressive. That's not a compliment, by the way. I have absolutely no idea what to say other than, you need to do some research and real world testing before you keep spouting this gibberish. Just because you want to dicksize and rant, doesn't mean our newbies need to be getting confused by your walls of text full of opinionated nonsense. We deal in facts here.
  21. Things don't just break. Well maintained equipment used with care lasts ages. I have amps older than me that still put in work the same as the day I got them. I'm not even particularly gentle. I just make sure to keep them cool, and well fed. If you're burning up amps in less than a year, perhaps you need to examine the only constant; the user.
  22. Where can I find old school tracks with bass added to them? I dig rebassed stuff, stuff like this I don't exactly know how to search them out, I just tend to stumble across them while youtubing.
  23. Perfect segway I've been wanting to do a high surface area, low power build for quite some time but I've been afraid to commit to the idea because of how attached I've gotten to drivers like my BTL. Something like 6 dcon 15's sealed. Would that net me more "felt" bass and low end extension than continuing down my single 18 path? My brother's car was nasty loud on 2k rms, you couldn't tell if you were breathing on mid to high notes and that was five Memphis 12's sealed. I miss being choked out.
  24. Thanks for entertaining my curiosity =] Makes the A6000GTI all the more sexy to me. 6k @ 4ohms.... *shiver*
