  1. That's why I don't ask questions on here. People are plenty happy to shoot ideas down without offering anything constructive. It's never gotten me anywhere. Check out the speaker cook book. It's got good stuff in it but I think it's a little more than what you are looking for at this point in time. I read a little of it. It's pretty good. I think most of what Quentin was talking about was trying to get a perfectly flat response. You would be fine with a 6" aeroport IMO. Regardless of someone's apparent lack of knowledge in an area, people are quick to make sure that person knows that it's a dumb idea, and nothing more. Not what's wrong with it, not why, nothing. Just that OP is stupid. Makes the forum pretty irritating sometimes, especially considering that MOST of what I learn comes off this board, at least so far.
  2. You have a blazer? much much newer than i.. but....... any info at all? I see its down.. sorry........ Oncoming drunk driver in my lane, in January swerved around him, and lost it to the ice. I had only just put my first real woofer in there, had the BTL in for three days and then the truck was totaled. Everything from the system survived, except my Alpine comp set, my front doors were too smashed to open up after rolling. The windshield and roof were so smashed in my tweeters were flattened into the dash.
  3. Lol That wasn't a joke.Actually I have 4. One for overall. One for the in boats, one for the towers and one for the sub. Overall is all you need, but sometimes I like to change the balance for when swimming off the back or partying at the island. Just using some Blue Velvet analog pots. Sound killer. There is a proc after each volume source too... Wasn't laughing 'at' it, was just surprised. Simplicity is underrated.
  4. Quit your job and work elsewhere man. Walmart has more audio knowledge than that guy...
  5. I wired a pa horn in the cabin, under the dash to my factory alarm that made my truck undrivably loud, ear piercing with the alarm going off, with a run from each battery so popping the hood and cutting my ground wasn't effective.
  6. Figured I don't understand the correlation between my shelves and my amplifiers ability to play my music. I couldn't connect that dot lol

Is there any merit to this? http://shop.mapleshadestore.com/departments.asp?dept=96
  8. I believe someone has posted about them before. Search it maybe? Seemed OK.
  9. [[suspense intensifies]]
  10. Cut two square holes, one on each face and make two slightly larger wood plates. Mount a port in each plate of equal length, and block the opposite hole for testing. Whichever configuration you like, mount a plexi window over the other. If it's double baffled, you can do plexi, or just plug it with wood.
  11. Facing up towards the windshield is what I think he means by on top of the dash. If the mid and tweet are facing the same direction, that's the same "axis" On axis to the listening position is a different story.
  12. Your shop doesn't have tools?
  13. What do you mean you can't find one, do you mean locally? Parts Express is the shittttt they have most things you could need to get started.
  14. No..Never glassed anything myself, but I've read that here on the board a handful of times.
  15. *drools* Nice man
  16. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/52114-port-flares-for-sale-8-and-10-diameter-pipe/#
  17. I think Adrian_D makes custom port flares. All you have to do is buy one and pick up some 10" pvc
  18. I've heard resin alone can actually weaken the wood, it's not the same as actually fiberglassing the whole interior.
  19. You're using two different woofers in the same setup, or do you mean to say you switch them out?
